And I wouldn't be saying this if she was older, she looks about 18, she has a lot more years to have then permanently scar her body.
Unfortunately some people will discriminate people with tattoos. I work in commercial management and am certainly aware of this. It depends from person to person, state to state and country to country, I work all over. It is a massive shame as the the jobs should always go to those most qualified for the job but this is NOT the case. It varies form company to company too as tattoos may not "project the right image" that they are looking for. Its a shame,something people need to move on from.

We got over this matter years ago, as we should about tattoos. I personally am covering my body, I view my body as a canvas, I have my throat done, and down to my elbow on my left arm, and I have not had any job issues.
I got a tattoo on the same place on the back of my neck, it's very similar to David Beckham's. I have a very good job as a land surveyor in local government, have a degree level education and mensa level IQ, and the tattoo can easily be hidden by the collar of my shirt and tie, but I can show the tattoo off on the weekend with a t-shirt. It's really quite pretty. I generally hate neck tattoos because they seem to make finding jobs hard, and generally look horrid, but this is incredibly pretty. It looks lovely.

@23mjwill actually i have a great job right now, but thanks for the concern. i currently work at a childrens gym where it is no problem; and i also work as a physical therapy assistant where it is not a problem as well. it is easily hidden with my hair, and even if my hair is up, it is not a problem in the workplace

My first tattoo was on the back of my neck, about the same size as that cross except it was a chinese symbol. I had a massive death grip so hard on the chair that it left a rope burn mark on my arm. I didnt even notice it until my boyfriend pointed it out. Yeah, it hurts but its not that bad.

@NCC1701zulu I am a biker's wife and I can honestly say that yes alot of people regret their tatts. But mostly because they got tatts of things that meant nothing to them. They didn't put the time into figuring out what held meaning to them they just went with what looked cool at the time. A tatt is permenant and should be taken seriously. It is a statement you are making about yurself to the rest of the world and can be a very beautiful thing if done right

Neck tattoos dont hurt at all. The only part of it that was sort of bad is the top of the neck near to the hair line. or on the boney part bumpy thing that sticks out.
it was just a bit sore a few days later, when i moved my neck because mine scabbed over a little. nothing unbearable tho. didnt actually 'hurt' tho.. it was actually pretty annoying

@krazykimberley i dont think it matters how old are u to get it numbed... not trying to be rude or mean in anyway.. but if ur not mature enough to handle the pain that comes with getting a tattoo.. then i think u should think it through a little more. mine didnt hurt one bit.. so if ur planning on getting one in the same spot.. i would say either tough out the pain or wait till u know for sure. numbing isnt really the way to go with tats.

@krazykimberley i promise u it doesnt hurt. imagine someone using a mechanical pencil and coloring on your neck. thats basically it. and i dont think numbing is the way to go because the pain aspect of a tattoo is what makes the experience.. u know what im trying to say? well good luck and lemme know how it goes and what u decide!

The pain is part of what makes the tattoo. For the sake of art people go through the pain and thats what makes it so great. If it werent for the pain everyone would probably have a tattoo

My first tattoo was on the back of my neck, about the same size as that cross except it was a chinese symbol. I had a massive death grip so hard on the chair that it left a rope burn mark on my arm. I didnt even notice it until my boyfriend pointed it out. Yeah, it hurts but its not that bad.

I heard it would hurt like hell to take a tat on that spot of ur neck. They didn't even make here tattoo on my girlfriend neck where the spine is cos it was her first and they said that she couldnt take the pain. So was it worse than taking a tat on your arm, if u have any others ?

i dont have any others, but as for the pain.. i dont think it hurt at all. uncomfortable? not really either. the best way i could describe it is like if someone was coloring on ur neck lightly with a mechanical pencil. i guess it may depend on the person. good luck w ur gf :)

@NCC1701zulu I am a biker's wife and I can honestly say that yes alot of people regret their tatts. But mostly because they got tatts of things that meant nothing to them. They didn't put the time into figuring out what held meaning to them they just went with what looked cool at the time. A tatt is permenant and should be taken seriously. It is a statement you are making about yurself to the rest of the world and can be a very beautiful thing if done right

LOL thanks. I was afraid someone was going to come back with a smart a## remark and make me mad. Yeah you have to consider that what looks cool today will be all saggy and wrinkley as you get older. I'm a christian so I like the cross as a tatt but others just get darn stupid. Take my advice and if you get any more think about it for a LONG time cause it's there to stay. It took me YEARS of thought to find my perfect tattoos

Neck tattoos dont hurt at all. The only part of it that was sort of bad is the top of the neck near to the hair line. or on the boney part bumpy thing that sticks out.

it was just a bit sore a few days later, when i moved my neck because mine scabbed over a little. nothing unbearable tho. didnt actually 'hurt' tho.. it was actually pretty annoying
