  • @Dorisequador Everything causes cancer

  • is it 4 sell

  • Where does the sound come from? Chain only?

  • its not fast but its really strong! isnt it?

  • @2StrokeMotocross1 Is this Charlie Sheen? Because I could swear your on fucking crack!

Electrical is the future ..... FUTURE not gaz burnt emmisions fucking up our oxygen on our planet and dirtying our oceans with feul polutions causing cancer in fish and mamals.

    Go check your facts ..

    And lick my balls.

  • @Dorisequador The negative effects of fuel emissions aren't going to be seen from people that like to offroad, it's going to be from people in huge cities that drive hummers or other vehicles. In terms of exhaust and pollution, the motocross bikes are the last of your worries, go attack big businesses that output more pollution than you or I could if we tried, instead of attacking the middle class guy who just wants to get out and kick ass in the desert.

  • Wow my dream come true... and electric dirtbike..

I can help you guy's out actually if you wish it unlimited power

    Never needs charging.

  • What kind of motor I need for something like this? could you give me a link by any chance?

  • really wish there wasnt any lawn mower noise in the backround. out of all videos of people riding their dirtbikes on the street, not one ive seen had a lawn mower in the backround but when you want to hear the electric dirtbike ofcourse this is the 1 video with the effing lawnmower WTF

  • how mcu hwas it

  • your a genious to come up with that.i bet thats all we will be riding is electric in 10 years

  • does it have gears?

  • No, it has a single reduction stage but no gears, no clutch.

  • why a 125 frame? why not 250? idk?

  • pretty cool man

  • Cool conversion. Keep up the good work and experiments!

    One love!

    White Wolf

  • nice

  • it would be cool if bbr made a pit bike like that. nice pick up

  • cool, but the batteries are probably heavier then a 125cc motor!

  • So... you can ride it anywearwith no noise complaints.

  • if your on a track, you dont need to worry about noise complaints.

  • Electric isn't about performance right now its about economy and a cleaner expanded mind and life, the performance will come with better technology don't worry but until then it all about becoming Independent from the energy cartels.

  • Comment removed

  • how fast duz it go?

  • homemade ?

  • all I hear is a dumb lawn mower in the background.

    good job on the project.

  • y would you turn a perfectly good dirtbike into an electric one? the second you crash the thing will probaly fall apart.

  • its a cr125 frame moron not custom built its a motocros frame.

  • Electric motorcycles won't get serious attention till they beat 450 dirtbikes on supercross tracks. Then the radical new wave will kick in. Noone liked 4 strokes in the beginning either. Serious dirtriders like the noise...bullshit, that's like harley riders the make annoying sounds to be cool, it has nothing to do with being smooth, going fast., and being a great rider.

  • this terrible ur destroying the sport of motocross

  • fuck electric motors gasoline all the way!

  • i agree my stupid uncle has an electric bike which alright for city commuting but it pisses me off when he sees a big diesel truck spewing out black smoke and he says they should be smashed to pieces. So what who gives a fuck those environmentalist can blow me. that dirtbike doesn't have near as much as proformance as a real dirtbike. o got a yamah yz 125 2003 2 stroke and itl rape his electric bike.

  • nice sound......... OF THE LAWN MOWER !!!!!!!

  • .why don't you's just mount a speaker and tune it to whatever sound ya's want!!! (They run off of electricity that last time I checked) F1 race car....Mach Z, Yamaha Banshee....with tuned pipes or stock!!! lol A whole new type of "sub-woofer/exhaust" :) I'm sure there's some programmers out there who could make them cheap.money, money, money....soon it'll collapse...and we'll accept another inevitable failure!!! ta ta

it was just a thought.... a free one....now go with it you crazy kids!!!!

  • LOL, you could download drive tones to the bike, like a cell phone, and make it sound like whatever you want.

  • cool

  • Hi.

  • im impressed! i didnt think it would be able to create that kind of torque for very long. good job!

  • lol an old lady was watching

  • how long does it last before going flat?

  • wtf is the point in that

  • jeez thats a LOT of chain slap

  • some people enjoy the sloppy stuff :P

  • sounds like a plane :O

  • What kind of motor did you put in that bike?

  • Put the KillaCycle motor on it. That Electric motor sounds SICK!

  • Man thats pretty decent, but i think ill stick to my gas motor. I like hearing the sound of my bike rev when im in the powerband. I give you props and all but just not my thing.

  • Do a cross up with it and I might be interested. You'd have more power for sure if you'd put that motor on a mountain bike, much less weight to move around. Nice project though.

  • what would you have to replace on a gas dirt bike in order to make it completely electric?

  • hmmm... perhaps the motor and all of its components? hehehehe

  • haha

  • lol like it lmao hahaha

  • There will be a day in the very near future, that pound for pound EV will beat ICE, and dont cry about range cause that will be beat to, and like your cordless dewalt tools, there will be 2 batteries sitting in back up when your at your fav trails...

  • if thats the future of dirtbiking im gonna shoot myself!

  • ..geat stuff, it's guys like you that are bending the world to a better direction. never thought i'd see the day when your neighbor's briggs n stratton make more noise then a cr125 taking off lol

  • i hope you get electricuited lol its wrong to have an electric crosser fair play for building it lo.

  • thats un-american

  • i was just gonna say that

  • preetty gay

  • thats pretty cool but i like gas powerd better i bet mine could smoke that peice of junk!

  • i bet it couldnt this has 100% torque at 0 rpm

    no 2 stroke has that:)

with the right motor it could peak at 40bhp erm lets see a 125 do that:) at 0 rpm

lol not to mention u cant stall an electric bike u dont have to start it up in the mud when your tired

  • yeah i agree!!! but i am getting a 4 stroke so yeah i was looking at that yamaha ttr 110 im 13 so yeah google it can u tell me if i should get it?

  • dont get a ttr110, they are shit for someone your age. if you are 13 get like a yz85 or cr85 look them up they fit kids your size a lot better and have tons of power for small bikes

  • dude ive been riding crf 250's since i was 12

  • so? why does that matter? i have a crf450r.

  • quite as a mouse

  • not for me the best bit of a scrambler is the noise lolo

  • u shud run the motor through the gearbox so u still have the gear change and that.. seems like a good idea to me :) then again i dont reali kno anything about this type of thing.. lol

  • cool vid . Nice project, I was impress with how well it worked!

  • wow guy starts mowing perfect timing lol

  • allot of fun relly nice good job guys ^^

  • This would be good if your engine exploded and you got an extra frame sitting around. My dirtbike blew up so i am considering doing this.

  • its ok , but it dont have the sound ,, personally i love the sound ,

  • yes. how much in total. thats sic.

  • very nice that was awsome

  • where did you buy the motor from and for how much thanks

  • What was done to the CR125 motor since this is a "converted CR125 to electric" and not a "I put a electric motor in a CR125 frame"?

  • This is an electric motor put into a CR 125 frame along with an intermediate chain reduction. The original motor is in the scrap heap at the moment.

  • nice

  • Hi,we produce dirt bike,atv,go kart,pocket bike,go to my youtube,you can see me.

  • probably doesn't have alot of power.

    it's poping because it's lighter I'm guessing.

    still pretty sweet.

if it had the power of a 125 or so I'd buy it.

  • Thing probably has no power though, Might be good for trail riding though providing the trails you ride are not to muddy and uphill.

  • I like this. Can you tell us what electric motor your using and how you came up and why with that type driveline design. I am going to do a 92 kx 250 like yours. I need info, Thanks!

  • You couldn't wait till the Guy had finished mowing his lawn? Geeeeessss....

  • I don't throw this around often but that is REALLY good. Seriously! Good job.

  • Near to be perfect

You would have to change battery by LiFePo4 so it would have much more energy.

    I put a brushless 48V 1000W (1800 W max) motor on a MX650 mini bike so I can get real 50km/h in a "long" range (40km I suppose) without heat.

I don't know if the perm 132 can works with 100V (in fact 53V * 2 usualy) but it LiFePo4 are very powerfull battery in a light package.

I will be interested about how you do exactly

  • is it fast?

  • Not really, it's geared too low and tops out at 35 mph. We'll gear it up before testing again.

  • can you shift gears or is it just one gear?

  • how many volts you running through that thing?

  • great project! this is the future...i'm just wondering how much time will we have to wait to get rid of oil :S what's the top speed and hp of this bike?

  • how much does that weigh

  • The batteries used are cheap but heavy and the bike weighs 290 lbs because of this. More expensive batteries can bring the weight down to 240 lbs.

  • nicely done... so how many volts/amps were you running and what size motor?

  • The motor is a PMG 132 now running at 84 volts. The controller limits the amps to 450 and the batteries can't sustain that current for very long anyway.

  • Wow.... as i said nicely done 5/5

  • Very nice indeed!

  • Looks good guys...nice wiring, battery placement and it seems you have the controller working perfectly. Keep it up!!!!

  • are you using the original gearbox, or is that just a plain shaft going through to the final chain on the other side?

  • There is an intermediate chain reduction on the right hand side of the bike and then a cross-over shaft drives the countershaft sprocket. We don't use any of the original transmission.

    Steve

  • have you ever tried it with the original transmission

  • i love your bike. you did a great job and it's very clean. i just did my first conversion. 1978 yamaha yz250. mine is not at fast or powerful but it's a start. 36 volts, 600 watt geared motor. direct drive with the original sprocket from the gas engine. i hope to upgrade soon

  • once all the gas powered bikes are gine i will never ride again. I hope I'm either dead or to old to ride when it happens

  • its a very good idea but i think its not so easy to ride

  • sweet bike man. good idea

  • but this is cool though, nice idea lol

  • Lauritzen is now educated on the future of moto....GREAT JOB!!!! Do you have any other info on the project. I bet if you cut out the gas tank you could fit that unit inside and it would look even more like a traditional bike! Either way, easier said than done and I commend you on a fantastic job.

  • Yeah, the future is coming even if you like it or not, First it was the 4-strokes killing the 2-stroke, then fuel-injection killing the carburettor, I guess this is the next logical step, the Electric motor killing the petrol engine. but I gotta say, I will mot get rid of my current garage of 2-strokes and 4-strokes anytime soon. battery-life seems to be the one thing that needs improvment before people will buy in to the electric age, power and weigh seems fairly decent already.

  • you did an incredible job on fitting everything like you did, with a aluminum frame and li-ion phosphat batteries i only see improvment.you did a better job than quantya and electric-moto.keep up the good work .wow i can't belive it a true electric dirt bike.thanks a bunch for posting this.i am looking forward to your next video

  • nice job on the bike... how does it ride on the grass/dirt.. here is mine...... not as pretty as your bike but it does the job..BTW what motor are you using?????

  • The motor is a PMG 132 running at 72 volts. There is an intermediate stage reduction to boost the torque and this limits the speed to 35 mph with 72V. We haven't taken it on the dirt yet, still some detail work to do before that.

  • this thing is awesome

  • I guess this is just a first effort bike, but whats the wheight on this thing? top speed? power? and range before a recharge is needed?

  • The current spec's aren't worth noting since they are constantly changing. Design spec's with Lithium power are: 34HP peak, 450 ft-lb torque at rear wheel, weight=200 lb, duration 1hr hard riding.

  • the power and torque specs are better than I thought it would be, and It's lighter than it looks, but 1 hour of riding-time is kind of short, not exactly somthing to take to the trails, but this is actually an interesting project, I'll keep my eye on this one. any vids showing the bike on the tracks anytime soon?

  • well a year has passed by ,tell us what the current spec is.

  • what's the point of this bike?

  • The purpose is to develop an electric powered bike with a real dirt bike chassis and also power, torque, and weight that is similar to (or better than) existing dirt bikes. This will eliminate the clutch and gear shift controls and if successful, provide greater torque that is more easily controlled than any ICE engine bike can deliver. It also may open up new riding venues where noise and air pollution issues are critical.

  • Its bikes like this that will get 2 strokes banned!!!! JJ good luck!!

  • isn't it weird how people talk about pollution of 2 stroke dirtbikes? it's weird to me, a couple of open natural areas that i liked riding on (me a couple others)got bulldozed over and roads and buildings got built and now 1000s of cars go through there every day. so it went from a couple polluting bikes or so a week to 1000x more pollution and my fav riding spot is gone, then i hear people complain about a little 2 stroke dirtbike polluting more than a 4 stroke.
