i am thinking of pulling the trigger on a torchmate 1 and looks like theres alot of set up involved, and with my in-experience im kinda worried I may never get it to work correctly.

No, it's a 4x4 Torchmate 2 small shop machine. It came disassembled, but there was no fabrication involved.
