Identical to the laplander, it's much like the silkysaw blade, more of a pullstroke cutter with a reverse taper-ground blade. It's not ideal like the one you have for dead/fire wood, but for green wood working, carving, clearing jobs, it's one of the best I've used, highly recommended, I carry both blade types
@1620416204 Hi Tom, thank you my friend, yeah I was surprised at first how simple and easy it was to replace the blade, the simple designs are always the best. Take care
Do saw makers ever put a coating on their blades or has there ever been a saw that uses a similar steel that Spyderco uses for their H1 knives... they never rust, although I wonder if the same rules would apply to tree sap (it being thicker and sticker)
@Valerieannleeh Hi Valerie, not sure about the steel, I believe the Bahco is a high carbon steel. The Laplander blade does have a black coating on it but thats the only one I have seen. Thanks my friend, take care.
i just got a new bahco expert its hi vis orange so hard to loose

I recommend you try the Bahco 396-JT blade/saw.

@Alfox94
Amazon.co.uk sells the blade for £17.60 including delivery. Woodlore sells the blade for £11 + £3.50P&P
Amazon.co.uk sells the entire saw for £12.98 including delivery
I've never bought a spare Laplander blade as I've always been able to get a whole saw for less

Hey Colin! Heck of a way to get yourself a "brand new" saw! Great idea and you probably saved yourself a little money in the process. Great vid!
BrewByU 11 months ago

it has the sandvik logo on the blade, the fish and hook. Sandvikk owns a lot of other saw and tool companies, such as disston, and Oberg files.
I worked in sales for Sandvik AB, back in the 70's. should have stayed with them.
live and learn. good tools A++
