"Lennon was quoted in 1972 as having said that he wrote 70% of the lyrics,[10] and in 1980 claimed that he wrote all but the first verse, but Pete Shotton, Lennon's childhood friend, remembered Lennon's contribution as being "absolutely nil". Donovan also reported that he heard McCartney play it to him before it was finished" -Wikipedia - /wiki/Eleanor_Rigby
I was brought to this channel after reading your comment on another video, about your art car. I saw you play this song live, if that was indeed you at BM2010 on probably Weds. night and actually came here looking for a your art car because of this very song. It made might night, it made my burn! It is one of my favorite memories from this year, it was just perfect hearing it at the time I did.
Any chance you have video of your art car? That thing is awesome.

the beatles are so great because if u put them back in the 1700's people would understand there music. they have a song that goes with every genre out there for the most part.
Would you mind telling the brand and model of that piano? It's an absolutely beautiful instrument! And an excellent song too! I recently played an acoustic version of this song with my string/choir/rythm group! :D
@KHDemyx, I no longer have this piano, but I think it was a Hoffman of Chicago made circa 1920's. It was retrofitted with an "O" style orchestrion mechanism hence the odd looking tubing and other stuff. I tuned and regulated the piano and also restored the orchestrion. It was a fantastic sounding instrument- one of the nicest vintage uprights I've ever played although the action was rather clunky and unresponsive due to its age, so I had to compensate for that. Thanks for commenting!
Mindblowing !! Masterpiece.. Glad that I've lent my ears to this song and glad that i've downloaded the entire album for free at DownloadMusic/./im , remove the slashes..
Mark, do you accept requests? Your playing reminds me of a childhood friend from 40 years ago who used to play a very good rendition of MacArthur Park. Could you please give that song a try? I know you would do a beautiful job of it. Thank you for the marvelous videos. Chris
Beautiful! A whole new facet of Eleanor Rigby to enjoy. The original version was haunting and poignant, and you have only expanded that feeling! Hats off... Thanks!
I loved the way you played it as apposed to how it sounded! (Not to say it doesn't sound good, It's beautiful!!!) I bet you inspire a lot of people out there! :P
That is beautiful and amazing, and I love it! I also love your piano; what kind is that? I mean, I've never seen one like that. O_O;; It makes for a beautiful scene for such an amazing song. :}
My nasty rendition of "Let it Be" is just so awesome. You have to check it out, as well...lol. Seriously, it will leave you wanting. However, this was a beautiful rendition of "Eleanor Rigby" Nicely done.
I keep coming back to this video.. Its beautiful! I hope I could play as good one day. For now I will just listen.. Wish you had the sheet music for it. Thanks
Stunning. This is my favourite Beatles song - perhaps my favourite song of all time. I just get swept up in it. I love the orchestration of the original but this is incredibly emotional. It sounds like the theme song for a beautiful movie (and I mean that in the NICEST possible way!)

I am really very impressed.
that's weird, i thought i added a comment but i guess it didn't get posted for some reason...anyway this is really nice--i like the combo of the dramatic and the jazzy! i hope you do more beatles songs! maybe fool on the hill??
nice. i like the combination of the dramatic and the jazzy!! the sound quality could be a bit better though--maybe invest in a better microphone? looking forward to more beatles! maybe maxwell's silver hammer ragtime style? or fool on the hill??
i think its safe to say he does this song justice
