  • I will see you guys at Chicago, Milwaukee and Lincoln in June!

  • I'm nihilist, and I'm Thrice's #0 fan. I love them.

  • Music is not God.

  • Amazing song, I love how you put soul into christian music. Reminds me of Fugazi

  • Don't focus on what they do (make music), but why they do it (share a message). Search "Image of the Invisible" on Vheissu, "A Torch To End All Torches" on Identity Crisis or "Listen Through Me" on Major/Minor. Protip: Read the lyrics if you want the full message.

  • I love this .

  • I'm a Christian and i listen to John Lennon's music. What's the difference? There is none, like kelemeno says....Music is music.

  • 2 people here must have pressed the wrong button. There is no other logical reason.

  • pure magic

  • when i hear thrice songs they move me like nothing else ive experienced threw listening to music. ive been following thrice for 8 years now and loved them back when they had identity crisis and illusion of safety and love where they ended up with major/minor. thrice will always be my number one favorite band!

  • This song isn't for only Christians, but I am pretty sure this song does have to do with The Bible and Jesus Christ. Just take it into consideration that maybe they have a testimony of Jesus Christ in their lives and this is what the song is about. God.is.not.dead. and I can testify to that through miracles & healings I've seen and heard from our team that just went to Ghana, Africa. We do have the right to believe what we want, and even if you are atheist, I'm sure you are still a good person.

  • @deadbolt132 Thanks for saying what I've longed to for a good while. Much like any literature or art, even if you don't necessarily believe or agree with the subject matter, you can still appreciate the skill in the results.

  • 13 years of nothing but amazing music. Going to miss these guys like no other....but family comes first and I'm sure Dustin's kids would like to have their dad around a lot more.

  • Comment removed

  • I remember when they were post hardcore.............I miss that.

  • @TheMacdaddysimmons

Then go back and listen, it still exists :)

  • Ezekiel 3:3 Then he said to me, "Son of man, eat this scroll I am giving you and fill your stomach with it." So I ate it, and it tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth.

Romans 7:24-25 What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!

John 8:12 When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world.Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

  • Atheist as can be, but Thrice is by far my favorite band of all time.

  • @Axis050 WHAT ?? You think GOD might be trying to share something with you ?!

  • @stuebee23 Of course not. God doesn't exist. This is Dustin, sharing beautiful music with everyone.

  • Dustin's lyrics are such a testimony to the power of the Gospel. This song just screams "substitution"! And that's exactly what Christ did for us. He took the "heavy book" of the law from our hands and put the punishment of our failures to obey it on himself. It's like a reversal. By His death on the cross and faith in it we are now accepted by God. Not because we've been good but because HE was good enough. I think Dustin understands this truth more than I do. But it is such an encouragement.

  • @camcolossus I could not have said it better. Thanks.

  • interesting. the lyrics sound like it's describing the bible. I've head before, “the Bible is shallow enough for a child to wade in, yet deep enough for an elephant to drown in.” It makes sense, becuase it is easy to understand but when you grow more and more in understanding, you begin to discover so many things that are like...over flowing. So much wisdom and knowledge to be found...

  • the one dislike is a justin bieber fan

  • This song sends a chill down my spine everytime

  • This is good and all, but nothing compares to ILLUSION OF SAFETY

  • I am also an atheist. There's a few bands I like that have some religious undertones to their music but everyone takes the lyrics how they want. Thrice is my favorite band and I don't think they'll ever stop being number 1.

This is my favorite song from the album. I don't know what it is but it evokes such emotion in me that no other song or band has ever done to me through their music.

    Their music is just... amazing.

  • I knew this album had a lot of religous undertones to it. I still love it though.

  • I agree, I am not a believer but I love Thrice!

  • YES. The drummer is wearing a Bon Iver T shirt!

  • AHHHHHH, i love thrice.. Lately i've been giving Riley more recognition tho.. always knew he was good, but i just love to watch him jam out! Especially seeing as he's dripping with sweat at the end of this video..

  • Half of the band's members aren't even Christians. Their music goes beyond that.

  • Crazy how they sound exactly the same live as on the album; great song, great performance, amazing band.

  • Just gonna say... I AM a Christian and this song makes me bawl my eyes out by how eloquently and beautifully it portrays the gospel.

So much better than all that uncreative "Christian music" crap that people give lots of hype to. This is the real deal right here.

  • Beautiful song...Such inspiring music.

  • Who the flying fuck cares if God exists or not? Does the idea of a higher being affect the song's meaning? Does it mean you're gonna go out and be an unkind person? God or not, we are ALL in this world together and the sooner all you pretentious religious or non-religious "messengers" see that, the sooner we could make some fucking progress. stop trying to tell people what to believe/not to believe. as long as people live good, honest lives who cares what they believe in?

  • Thrice's last tour (for a while) is in the spring - check their site: thrice.net

  • such a good song :-|

  • I know a lot of people who wrote them off after Vheissu, "generic indie rock". Wonder if they actually listened to the stuff. This is just bloody gorgeous.

  • Vheissu is still my favorite album but there new stuff is awesome, always is

  • Atheist here, thrice is in my top 3 favorite bands. Did not know they were christian till now lol

P.S. God is illogical and here is why. You can't say god created the universe when you cant explain where god came from. God is just a label we humans like to put on things and phenomenon that we don't understand (like zues and lightning).

  • @CropDuster33 So your saying that God is illogical because you cant explain where he came from? What about the Chicken and the Egg? Can you explain where the Chicken came from? There are alot of things that us as humans mentioned plenty of times in the Bible especially Matthew 24.

  • @Ktrain0218 Yes i am. but to prove you wrong, Neither the chicken or the egg came first a whole different animal gave rise to the chicken. the chicken evolved form an ancestor over millions of years there is evidence all over the place to support this, that is a matter of evolutionary biology not cosmology so your an idiot. And what about Mathew 24 makes the bible so legit and full of truth? To me the bible is just a book of stories that i have yet to read so you will have to enlighten me.

  • @CropDuster33 You do know that every "story" in the Bible has been proven FACT, right? I'll leave it at that.

  • @Ktrain0218 oh really wheres the proof?

  • @Ktrain0218 dont kid yourself, the bible was created at the same time the first gatherer came across magic mushrooms... face it ^.^

  • so sick how they can still get better and better....

  • 5/4 verse jump to 6/4 chorus. Thrice timing win

  • @xXxTheGuillotineXxX Thanks dude for the info! Thrice rocks!

  • Quite possibly the most powerful song I've ever listened to in my entire life.

  • sometimes i feel bad for thrice because normal, run-of-the-mill sound equipment rarely does their huge sound justice.

  • They sound fucking amazing. I can't wait to hear some of their newer songs live (in person). Thanks for uploading this.

  • best part: 0:00 - 5:30

  • incubus's new album : "yeaaahh liiike they have grown up you have to understand them"

Thrice's new album : FUCK MY MIND IS BLOWN WHAT IS THIS!

  • I think I just found out how to play this by ear..... OMG.

  • I'm an atheist and i still find Dustin's lyrics amazing and gratifying. You dont have to be christian to be moved by their music. They're an amazing band and deserve the upmost recognition for their talents.

  • @deadbolt132 I'm an atheist and I'm Thrice's #1 fan. Music is music.

  • @kelemeno And lyrics are lyrics, when you combine the two you get something amazing out of it.

  • @kelemeno i second, or third this. I have listened to thrice for over 10 years now, and no matter the religious lyrics , I still am able to take away my own meaning with each song. even though this song, and many others, are blatant biblical references, they are still beautiful. i loved their older music. deadbolt, beltsville, t&c, etc. but listening to circles, or wood and wire, or atlantic, or great exchange...has almost brought me to tears. see them live, or your life is wasted.

  • @kelemeno i'm a satanist and i'm Thrice's #2 fan.

  • @deadbolt132 same here my man...this sound is undeniably beautiful

  • @deadbolt132 So true my friend, I don,t have any religious beliefs and I have thrice's logo tattooed on my left arm. :) Such an amazing band. their lyrics and music move me in such a way indescribable. everyone has their own way to relate to music.

  • @deadbolt132 I am also an atheist, but I love this band. They definitely make me consider becoming Christian.

  • @deadbolt132

AS A CHRISTIAN I!!!!!!! wholeheartedly agree with you lol :D

  • @deadbolt132 Isn't the rest of the band too? I was under the impression that Dustin was the only Christian.

  • @TopherBlairMusic Im pretty sure they are all christian but im not 100% sure on that

  • @deadbolt132 I don't know, I remember an interview where he explained that the other members didn't care how his lyrics were themed because they believed in the artist expressing themselves honestly, which I admire a lot.

  • @TopherBlairMusic if it was possible, your comment just made me respect and love thrice that much more

  • @deadbolt132 It's just Dustin and Teppei

  • @deadbolt132 im also an atheist, well I guess I lean more towards agnostic, but yes I agree completely.

  • @deadbolt132 nobody gives a fuck at what you are dick licker!!

  • @deadbolt132 I can care less if your a atheis peter puffer!

  • @deadbolt132

I don't understand why you find the need to state your religion. No one ever said this was a band for "Christians only," or whatever you think.

  • @deadbolt132 You said it best brother.

  • thrice is getting chubby :)

  • @Andysiddhartha theyre getting old!!! its all ok, their music is still as great as ever... as much as I miss old thrice... imagine if they didnt switch things up and tried to sound like they always have... BORING! Thrice never cease to amaze.

  • Please Thrice come back to Australia NOW!!!!

  • Major/Minor is one of the greatest things I've ever heard. Thrice keeps getting better and better.

  • @MrDeathSmiles and will continue to get better til they implode from an overload of awsome.

  • perfectly performed. good enough to be a music video

  • What an amazing band.

  • this is some of the most amazing, if not the most amazing music of our time.. powerful message to help us think about our lives, buying the album now..

  • Goosebumps every time......

  • just simply badass, emotional, soulful, deep down in the pit of your subconscious

dustin's lyrics are heavy and heartful, and the rest of the band composes some of the most riveting sounds this side of the earth. LOVE IT

  • this is one of the very few songs i can listen to on repeat and not get sick of it. I love it!!

  • dustin has got to be the best lyricist of all time. from the beginning he has written incredible lyrics. i may sound like a little bitch, but his words have more than once brought tears to my eyes.

  • Love.

  • I've never seen a band get better and better as time goes on. This is real music. Does anyone know if Thrice will be playing anything from Beggars on there tour that they're on right now?

  • @whitesoxnation312 On this tour they've been playing 3-4 songs from Beggars. All the World Is Mad, The Weight, and Circles or In Exile.

  • @kelemeno Thank you sir

  • @whitesoxnation312

when i saw them they played in exile, circles and all the world is mad

  • @whitesoxnation312 I saw them last week and they played "Beggars" as their last song(before the 2 encore)

  • dusten got fat!

  • They never cease to amaze me! Every album has a different yet equally good sound.

  • Impresionate!!!

  • they kept their hair short.....and let therir music grow too....the post hardcore scene ruined all and thrice as inventor with some more changed direction thanks lord....

  • One of the most amazing songs they've ever written

  • Perfect.

  • Thrice should be in tour with Foo Fighters

  • @mauriciocarnieletto then I can die in peace ;)

  • @mauriciocarnieletto that would be cool except if thrice were on tour with Foos, they'd be given a 45 minute set...borrrrring

  • I thought I actually peed my pants.

    I did pee my pants.

  • Did Ed cry ? This is beautiful.

  • Love Teppei's expression at 4:06. Music = Thrice

  • This is one of those songs that makes me feel close to a God that I don't even believe in. It makes me wish I could just give in to the absolution of faith, and feel the cleansing that Dustin sings about. Pure beauty in a song, and I envy you ultra-spiritual types.

  • @IAmEddieGordo Have you read any CS Lewis? "An atheist can't be too careful in his reading."

  • @ourgenerationisdumb I mean, I'm spiritual and relatively well-read when it comes to religion. I just wish I had that connection.

  • @IAmEddieGordo I hear you. I was just wondering why you can't have that connection? What's in your way?

  • @ourgenerationisdumb Nothing's really in the way. I've tried time and time again to have faith and believe in a God, but I can't hold true to any religion. I do accept that there's something, and that that particular something allowed for our existence, and that it is all-powerful, but I feel that any attempt to describe it in full is all for nothing, basically. I appreciate religions for what they do and what they are, and I respect religious people. I just was never able to have the connection

  • @IAmEddieGordo agreed

  • @IAmEddieGordo

Don't try to hold true to any religion brother. Hold true to Christ, if you really examine His life and do your best to live like Him, you'll be set.

  • @mntnbikerbw73 How about instead you live for yourself and the world around you, not some fictional sky fairy? This song is raw talent, created through the sweat and tears of a very impressive group of gentlemen who have more talent in their little fingers than I can find in my entire body. No god did this for them, nor has one ever. You people are so fixated on playing pretend that the world completely passes you by.

  • @Axis050........I never came on here and belittled anyone or talked down, so I think you might exercise better judgment. Since you're a fan of Thrice, you obviously know that Dustin is in fact, a Christian....and what is a Christian Axis050? It's a person that follows Christ. If, Dustin said to you that his talents are God-given, would you dispute him too? I guess the world passed Dustin by as well while he was writing the song "I Believe" or maybe "Come All You Weary".

  • @mntnbikerbw73 It doesn't matter where he "thinks" his ability came from. It is raw talent. I would indeed dispute him on it. Dustin is a fantastically talented musician, and if he is going to pretend that god gave him the ability rather than all of the years he spent learning and practicing, then I'm thoroughly disappointed in him. Anyone that attributes a major quality in themselves to 'god' is belittling their own achievements.

  • @Axis050 Very well. However, I think you're off base. I can believe how I want to believe, whether it's a "sky fairy" in my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Go ahead and be disappointed in Dustin, because if you have that much faith in a human being on earth, then you deserve the disappointment that will eventually come. Dustin is a fantasically talented musician, but he's also a Christian.....so please bring your argument for a God or no god up with him the next time you meet him.

  • @mntnbikerbw73 What disappointment? We all just rot in the ground. You can't be conscious if your brain no longer functions, which is actually very interesting. It's why we need to make the most of our time here on earth. THAT is why we need to be kind to eachother, to take advantage of the talents we have and develop, to make beautiful music and live beautiful lives. We need to live for one another, because we're only here for a little while.

  • @Axis050 The disappointment that he'll let you down because I honestly believe that he would say his talent does, in fact, come from God. I beg to differ with your other comments though. Your "we need to be kind to each other" comes across as pretty hypocritical considering you slammed me for my belief in Jesus Christ. That's not very kind. You list these things that we, as people, should do in order to live life as if it's in direct contradiction to being a Christian.

  • @mntnbikerbw73 Slammed you? Incorrect definition of what I've done here. What I did was fling truth into your face. You can be good without god and all of your hard work is yours, something you should be proud of and that others should be impressed by. 'God' did nothing. 'He' never has and never will. We are the current stage of evolution and all of our achievements are OURS.

  • @Axis050 Slammed me in the sense that you insulted my intelligence. You didn't fling truth in my face because I don't believe you. You can be good with God as well and the hard work that you do can be attributed to God. We are not evolving....if we are, what are we evolving into? I believe in God. I believe in Jesus. I believe that Jesus is the son of God. I'm not here to convince you otherwise, and you're certainly not going to sway me. We both recognize Thrice as a fantastic band...

  • @mntnbikerbw73 Ignorance is bliss I suppose

  • @Axis050 You're a close-minded idiot who clearly has yet do define his own understanding of religion. I'm an Atheist myself, but I'm embarassed to be in the same category as self-righteous fools like yourself. Accept that theists exist, accept that the majority of them find much prosperity in their practice, and don't ever try to take that away from them.

  • @Axis050 Yes, ignorance is bliss....whould could also be said about you.

Just answer this question. What is Dustin singing of in "Words in the Water", "In Exile", "Image of the Invisible" "Come All You Weary", "Moving Mountains" to name a few? Regardless of how you believe, or who you don't believe in, you can't deny the fact that the singer in the band that's playing on this page right now worships the same God that I do. Now, can we just leave it at that?

  • @mntnbikerbw73 Sigh. It doesn't matter what you 'believe'. It doesn't change things that are fact. You can believe that gravity is just a theory, that it doesn't exist, but you're not about to go jump off of that cliff are you? Like I said, ignorance is bliss. Believe what you will, but you know in the back of your mind that there is no heaven or hell, you're just grasping at straws because of an innate fear of death. Try becoming at peace with it instead - it happens to everyone.

  • @Axis050 ....you're obviously missing what's behind some of thier lyrics though, but I won't hold that against you.

  • First time live - it's only going to get better. CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THEM IN CHICAGO. FUCK.

  • BASS CHORDS!

  • I could pray to this song. Thrice > Brilliance

  • best song ive ever heard

  • I can't even come up with a comment to describe how much I love this song and this band.

  • Major Minor is manna direct from Heaven.

  • Let me sound like a complete pussy and say that this almost made me cry. Fucking amazing. Thrice never let me down.

  • @KiwiCrisis Almost? I did I cry, I'm not ashamed lol! Thrice's music is always so heartfelt and sincere.

  • @KiwiCrisis no thrice will def. do that to you esp. with beggars and M/m not alone man Thrice rules.

  • @KiwiCrisis Nah man, the real pussies are the ones who live in their own little happy worlds, and deny that fucked up things are happening in the world everyday. I don't feel like a pussy when I cry about something that is honest, true, and meaningful.

  • @KiwiCrisis Almost?

  • Comment removed

  • @KiwiCrisis It has the same effect on me, it's just such an amazing melody, it grows on you...

  • @KiwiCrisis Don't worry brother, everytime I hear this song it brings me close to tears.

  • Immediately became my favorite song off major minor. this performance is great

  • So good.. So good.. guys are effin amazing! Inspired me to draw again.

  • Favorite song off the new album hands down. So awesome. The words of this song have such emotion and redemption behind them.

  • Thank you for posting this. Prior to playing this song... Dustin stated it was the first time they had played this song in live form. They did a great job!

  • Boner.

  • Dustin has an epic army cut.

  • gods among men..

  • omg..i love thrice!

  • I cried the first time I listened to this song. Such a blessing

  • sooo good! m/m might be their best

  • Amazing
