She's done Broadway and acting which shows that people still want her.

The problem with music is that tastes differ from person to person. Ashlee deserves it no more than Brtiney does though. Ashlee just had the misfortune of actually getting caught and having to deal with that fact, but she's no more right or wrong than all the other lip-syncing artists out there. I just think that it's unfair to just come down hard on her as if she's the only one who does it. From the sound of things, she grew up and learned from this experience. She's done Broadway and acting which shows that people still want her.

I'm not a fan of the state of modern music, believe me, but there's a world of difference between miming a show and keeping your mouth shut like a good little record label money maker and chirping off about how you'd never lipsync and then getting busted for it. The problem with music is that tastes differ from person to person. It's difficult to judge based purely on personal opinion and what people like and don't like and it's easy to look back through rose-tinted spectacles at what came before. The main problem with musical elitists is you just can't talk to them because everything was better in whichever era they grew up in.

Surely Britney basing an entire singing career on lip-syncing makes her worse; she's a much bigger hypocrite. At least Ashlee has been shown to try. I didn't know if Ashlee claimed that she never would before this happened so I'll have to take your word on that. At least she she grew from the experience, moved on a did well for herself. She's only human and everyone makes mistakes. I like the fact that she's not perfect as it makes her more relatable and I can forgive her.

"60 MInutes" was there because they were filming for a story on the program's creative process. They just so happened to be rolling when Ashlee was rehearsing, and then, correspondent Lesley Stahl ( the lovely lady) asked "SNL" creator and executive producer Lorne Michaels (the guy she is talking to) what the deal is, as seen in :24 - :27. Then the rest is history.
