I once heard a poet profess that his muse was not love but envy and jealousy. It seems all the songs and poems out there are silly love songs, but I think the listeners are missing something. The method is seeded in envy and jealousy, and they makes for great writers.

@brelfan Men cheat. Last I read, about 70%, were the statistics. 30% of women cheat. Men are programmed to screw women. If they have the opportunity, they'll take it. What really got my goat was that being morbidly obese, he had to spend ALL our money on this one fat, wiccan lady in Ohia. She was insecure and liked gifts, and her cell phone bills were too high, and yada yada. Truth is, you can't live all the time with hate. You do have to drop it.

He says he'll leave, and when he does, I tell him I don't want him to. We live together divorced. Separate bank accounts. Why he never does is a mystery that could be explained because he spends every cent on women, when the opportunity arises.

Look, obviously, if I live with the guy who cheats on me, I'm more loving than most. I have no idea what truth you think women are denying. I have no idea what you mean by women not being able to take the truth. i think, more likely, you have some issues you have to work through on the relationship front. Or people performing his songs however greatly or poorly they play them. but I have never seen or heard some one write something inspired by Tom Waits, or should I say written about Tom. I get from the poem that even though you blame him for all these things, no matter how much you, "hate Tom Waits" you keep coming back to him. Don't we all?

But I do know of at least one song out there that's inspired by Tom; a song called, appropriately, "Tom Waits" by Anouk. It's quite a pretty song too, and can be found on YouTube.
