Brad Pitt as Dany Wilde and Ewan MacGregor as Brett Sinclair would be a better choice. However, since these characters are original to Tony Curtis and Roger Moore, I don't think any replacements would work as good.
@tiantxu the idea of a vett since Clooney is American, but in the original Curtis also had a Ferarri so I guess they I trying to emulate the past as best as posssible. As for the Hummer, you wouldn't want Clooney in a (slow) modern 50cents pimpmobile would you? DBS and they have got it as good as it can get I think.
In the 80s they were going to do a new persuaders with george peppard doing the role of danny and ian ogilvy as brett but george did the a team instead
Ok...i am on a roll now...George Clooney would be perfect as Mcgarret in Hawaii Five O with Chris o Donnel as Danno... How about Dominic Purcell ( Lincoln Burrows in Prison Break ) as Kojak... How could we resist Ben Stiller( Erik Estrada) and Owen Wilson(blonde cop) in CHiPs.....or the Professionals with Daniel Craig as Bodie and Colin Farrel as Doyle and Ray Winstone in the Gordon Jackson role. The Sweeney with Gary Oldman as Reagan and Jason Statham as Carter ....ouch...
How about a remake of Hart to Hart with Pitt and Jolie...'when they met, it was moider'. ...or the greatest tv 'tec show ever...'This is Jim Rockford, at the tone leave your name and message, I'll get back to you'....with Keifer Sutherland and his real father as Rocky......wow...lol.....or Magnum P.I with Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart as Higgins, Ving Rhames as T.C and Emilio Estevez as Rick,.....Oh I love the 70's...the best TV shows ever.
This is absolutely brilliant...but these 2 guys are too old now. Also Brett Sinclair was a Lord and came from an aristrcratic background, not a floppy haired twat. Danny Wilde was from a poor New York background...Clooney is way too smooth. It would be very hard to find someone who could pull off Brett like Roger Moore.
that enzo would own that aston v8 vantage completely. could have gona with a better aston at least like the DBS or something. bearing in mind the 6.0 v12 wasn't available in a vantage in 2005 or2007.
OMG! hope this shit never happens.. no way they could take the place of Moore and Curtis.. . hell no... both are bad actors, and too far to the left.. too see a commusnist like Clooney play a playboy whould be a poke in the eye! ! !
I adored this with Curties and Moore I'm sure these two guys will be great ,when Tony and Roger made this they were not so young either, everything on the series were great ,the charming scenary the friend- relationship they had on stage ( at least what we saw) the music, I have always loved that intro, the suspence and the hilarious chapters, everything was great!!!..but also I have to say the judge is even better today Michael Cain in that roll, absolutely,
I loved the original version, but kind of reserved with those 2 older guys, I 'll give it a shot just for the hell of it, however curtis + moore + priceless!!
i think this would have made a good movie about 10 years ago now there both too old - best thing LEAVE IT ALONE - none of todays actors could pull this one off - sorry the original is the BEST
well maybe you are right maybe the original is the better one but you are wrong saying they are old for this, Moore and Curtis were close to 50's when they did this...so you are saying nonseses, sorry...plus they are very well choosen the size of tese two actor is perfect
OMG!! Film suicide! GC and HG? I don't think this is going to work at all! Maybe so for the new kids wanting to watch the film (it'll stay in their memory for at least a day), but for those of us to whom it appeals to (40+'s)......we'll bow our heads in shame.
I don't think Clooney can pull off a Tony Curtis. Curtis was funny yet dramatic, I hope clooney can fill his shoes. As far as replacing Roger Moore, Grant could do a good job.
Hugh Grant isn't steely enough - I would agree with Clive Owen, but then he might not be humorous enough. Jonathan Rhys Meyers would be awesome, but he isn't old enough. We need to get our thinking caps on.
GREAT ,hope this realy happens, sinclair would suit a timothy dalton type actor maybe daniel craige johnny depp maybe?the other roles are perfict for cain n clooney,.well done
The Enzo does not fit Danny. He should drive something more like a F430 or so. Aston is perfect for Brett, also Bentley Continental GT would be good choice. Hopefully this movie will be released as long as Rainer Brandt and Lothar Blumhagen (both in their 70s and 80s now) are still alive to do the German dubbing!
Excellent video. The whole world are exciting with The Persuaders return. We have tried a little bit that could happen in the real new film ...thanks.
when??)))

The last I heard was the film remake was to star George Clooney and Steve Coogan(!). Clooney is thought to be very keen on the idea.

Clooney wouldn't be interested as Danny Wilde would be too much like Danny Oceon.

Please let our memories intact. don't touch the persuaders. It never could be at least as good as the original.

Hugh Grant as Lord Bret Sinclair it must be a joke, Hugh Grant has absolute no class at all.
I already hate this new version :-(

Grant is the perfect replacement for Moore - given that they both act like a chunk of polished teak...

Good cut. Bad selection of cars. What about an Aston DBS vs Corvette? The vette is a great american car. Or maybe a Hummer, i don't know...

Clooney as Wilde is OK, I would suggest Sinclair = Kevin Kline

If anything I see Clooney as Brett Sinclair, swarve and dapper with say Matt Damon as the boystous Danny Wilde. Please not that jackass Hugh Grant!

i should play the role .. im english handsome and my name is michael shoulder

very good trailer
Grant & Clooney would be my choice, however...
Sinclair would drive a DB9 not a "baby" Aston and the Enzo is too exclusive, I agree the F430 would be a good choice.
Coogan & Stiller?????? Noooooooooooooooo

YESSSSSSSSSSS... Coogan & Stiller NOT!!!!!!!!

Danny Devito and Dave Rappaport... ha haaa!!!.... they could do a midget version.
Great trailer btw... One of the best pieces of music ever for a tv show...

Hmmm,
An improvement on the Coogan / Stiller proposal but............
....it sure ain't good enough to be taken as serious.
Now if TC & RM could star in a 'Persuaders 40 years on' film then count me in.
