well i can see that Wolf in the door sounds allot like "she's so heavy" by the beatles...? and she's so heavy sounds allot like Bachs Prelude No. 1 in C major (BWV 846) etc etc etc....
as far as i see it the human sub-conscious is a massive place,
If you listened to that song all the way through you'll hear that there is a pause at the end of Ms Bells song and then the radio wars theme is played, all on the same track, it's an awesome recording.
Let us keep them to our selves, our little secret, so we do not have to watch them at Wembley, and other such SHITE places. See you at Islington and Bristol.
I agree. Nothing's original in this world, especially music. 99.9% of it doesn't get heard, yet there are people who'll write a chord progression and think they've created something unique! Critics are so quick to accuse musicians of ripping each other off. I mentioned that the Manchester Evening News accused the Bells of ripping off Radiohead. Well, they also accused them of ripping off Coldplay. Coldplay! Why would a band with as much creative energy as the Bells rip off Coldplay?! Ridiculous.
yep i understand. it was more others saying the riff is not original. whats original? the bells are about as original as one can be. everything in this world is derivative to a larger and lesser degree -- the beatles, dylan all took from people before them. bob even stole a welsh poets name
I have a great deal of respect for the Bells. It takes an incredible amount of integrity to turn your back on the possibility of genuine mainstream success, simply because you don't believe in what you're doing, but that's exactly what they did. As Waikiki, that is. If this song is any indication, they'll always make the music that they want to make. And in an industry that encourages you to sell your soul for success, that's the single best quality you can have.
Whats the fuss Johnny Greenwood - radiohd got it from Eric clapton listen to - ah forgot the songtitile about a park on Cremes album DISRAELI GEARS also on Beatles simlar riff SHES SO HEAVY -- so what
Don't get me wrong, I'm not accusing the Bells of stealing the riff (unlike the Manchester Evening News). Radiohead didn't invent it, nor did Eric Clapton or The Beatles. It's a commonly-used note scale. I was just using 'A Wolf at the Door' and 'My Body Is a Cage' as reference points; the former for its lullaby-gone-wrong sense of unease, and the latter for its slow build-up to a thunderous crescendo. I love this song, and I love the Bells. They were great as always in Manchester, by the way.
This song is vicious. It's somewhere between Radiohead's 'A Wolf at the Door' and Arcade Fire's 'My Body Is a Cage', but with the unmistakable dark rumble of Howling Bells. I absolutely love it.

Rip off of two Radiohead songs: Scatterbrain, and Wolf at the Door.
Look them up.

I really love the band, Howling bells are awesome. But this song is a total rip off of those radiohead songs. Such a dissappointment.

I thought this was a Wolf at the Door by Radiohead cover when I saw them. No creativity on this track i'm afraid. :/
