  • peanuts you put on the side when serving... just like the fresh vegs

  • หิวเลย - -

  • has anyone seen hua-Pee?? banana flower in Asian markets here in California?would love to try those can't afford to fly to Thailand right now lol going to look for those turnips next trip to my Asian market/ plus a few bags of those wide rice noodles instead of the thin ones/my market gets fresh tofu cakes that are still warm from the factory so delicious you want to cry/ along with soy milk and oh yes the tofu pudding that comes with seperate coconut milk and syrup with fresh ginger floating

  • @pheadrasfall - I seen HuaPlee often at Marina food on Monterey Rd, San Jose, Plenty of thai stuff there. I never miss thai s food because I could have anything I would like to eat, I enjoy to cook, thai, american, italian as well, Or other place you can try is Ranch 99. • doesn't look good to me.

  • Thanks for posting the vid and the link..... I love thai food and the recipes.

  • i LOVE pad thai!!

  • Were is the peanut?

  • @antontoarnabeton normally we dont use peanut in padthai .

  • He says you need crushed peanuts and never uses them. Are they a garnish or should they be fried in at some point?

  • pineapple chunks in there too yummm - clint eastwood found thai to be delicious in gran torino- when he sniffed in the kitchen he was hooked- no better food on earth

  • looks good!!

  • @ Itsdagoaly

    U´re an real expert.. xDDD

The different Curries... its a real different Curry, one is more spice and one less... u got green, yellow, purple and ... i think it was black i dont know :D Its not bout the colour only... It got even different flavour... xDD

    (I have been exchange student...)

  • I swear It doesn't look like Pad Thai LOL

  • i love thai food but its rare to find pure thai restaurants here in saudi arabia .. most of them are owned by chinese/filipino chefs

  • good job on asking how much of each ingredient he was putting in because i'm really bad at eyeing and judging how much. i would have ruined it for sure! way to be mindfull of your viewers!

  • What a masterful Pad Thai dish.

    Props to the chef.

  • wow, looks interesting...

  • what kind or brand of turnip is used?

  • the young female host dont know how to interpret what those thai cook are doing. she should think that all the audience dont understand what the thai cook is saying and what ingredients the cook is adding to the dish. the young female host sucks.. i love thai food but i dont like the host the way she interpret what is going on... good luck you need more pratice.. watch lot of hosting show. you might learn from them......

  • which part is the ground peanuts added? did i just miss it ??

  • I just luv watching your guy's cooking videos because I'm learning a lot about making thai food. Pha Thai is one of my favorite dishes at thai restaurants and I can never make it authentically right the way thai make them.

  • Good job on voiceovers.

  • I hope that was sarcasm, I hate when they talk over people, why not use subtitles?

  • Yao: The head is the best part!

  • You can buy Palm Sugar in Asian Markets. It tastes similar to brown sugar. I love eating a little bit of it like candy. ha ha

  • Agreed! I can sit down and just eat palm sugar or coconut sugar by itself... so much better than most candy!

  • i want

  • THAT SHRIMP IS MINE!!! LOL

  • AH TOMOROW I GO TO THAI RESTAURANT EAT IT! lol

  • never heard of palm sugar...

  • You'll find it in Asian markets. It's usually sold as small solid cones wrapped in paper (size of a Yoplait yoghurt container). Brown sugar can be substituted.

  • how come this pad thai looks brown and the ones in usa is red/orange, whats the reason behind that??

  • it's the different way people make sauce

food color for decor or different sauce recipe

  • Some restaurants add paprika to their Pad Thai to make it reddish. How do I know? Well several thai chef told me.

  • Because they use tamarind which is very cheap in Thailand but expensive in the USA. It gives the brown color. In the US they probably use Siracha chilli sauce which is cheap but gives the reddish color.

  • pad thai in US are usually added tomato kechup. you can ask w/o at thai restaurant with thai cooks.

  • i think its because they use premade stuff, for example i just made some panang curry today, it was brown, tasted great!. ones in the restraunts taste good too, but a lot or some probably use like curry paste. i might be wrong i bought some panang curry paste im gonna tr yit out

    thai food is the best!

  • In the west some restaurants use tomato sauce or even ketchup (yuck), but that is definitely not authentic. Real pad thai is brown from the fish sauce and tamarind sauce.

  • I think that mostly depends on the tamarind sauce, which gives color to the pale rice noodles. Every pad thai I had in Thailand was brown. Sawat dee Kah!

  • what he does is right, original one. Why is Red or Orang? Substitue for easy to cook by use tomatoes paste, instead of camalization the noodles.

  • because of tomatoes paste they put/use. that it should never been in pad thai.

  • because pad thai in usa is not the original one. they put sweet chili sauce and ketchup instead of tamarind sause , that's why it looks orange in color

  • lol I love the voiceovers!

  • my mom could make it just like that! (:

  • Why do you cook shrimp w/head on?

  • It adds more flavor and it also looks pretty. Some people suck out the jucies from the head.

  • because in the head of shrimp has oil and that's oil make more tasty when you cook . you people don't know many secret of cooking .

  • she looks like a real nice girl....and cooks well....ummmmm lets try her....

  • please make a vegetable rolls.

    and put the Ingredients please...

  • I love Thai food. That looks delicious.

  • One of my fav. Thai dishes! I always order this at Thai Rest.

  • name som-tum! know?

  • You can get all those ingredients at ASIAN Supermarket here in CA. I love eating Padthai!

  • That's 'one' serving for me, minus the fish sauce, shrimp and chicken fetuses of course.

  • um, an egg is not a fetus.

  • Pad Lao ???

    that's funny.

  • How many spoonfulls of chopped turnips are you going to use?

  • it looks mushy

  • looks like Pad Lao too

  • Pad thai sounds better lol , im thai 0.0

  • Thai food is one of my favorites

  • dang that looks delicious,i want some!!

  • Thank you for posting, i love Thailand and Thai food... oh and Thai people

    Thank you krab

    Silkfan

  • about the toufu, it's dried or fresh toufu?

  • Dried

  • said it wont matter. just make sure its EXTRA firm

  • may i know what is the ingredient after roasted peanut? thank you.

  • turnips.

  • a really tempting recipe... thanks for the video!!...

  • Obviously, not only Pad Thai but all Thai food!!!

If you have a visit to Thailand, never forget to tell the waiters/waitresses that not spicy please or you'd get heartburn --- !!!

Tom-Yum-Goong in American is like a tasteless soup with shrimps compared to Tom-Yum-Goong in Thailand :P

  • lol! dude...practice makes it perrrRrfect!

  • Americans like to use more sauce and they put soy sauce and ketchup in it. Try looking around at other videos and you'll see what I mean.

What was wrong with your padthai?

  • As I am sitting here eating this recipe, I gotta say I was very skepical while pouring the full cup of fish sauce in the wok. It smelled SO BAD in the house!!! We didn't give up, though... we kept on going...

The only thing I did different with this recipe it that I used chicken and shrimp and added a whole lime's juices after that.

    YUMMY!!!

  • haha i agree wid u!! the fish sauce smells horrible like socks!! but hey it worth it in the end!!

  • As a rule, you don't cook stir fried Thai/Chinese food indoor. Unlike western homes, the layout of their kitchen is not enclosed inside the house. Yes, cooking many Asian foods inside a western home will stink up your house to high heaven. Try getting outdoor propane burners for better results.

  • Try and asian market in your area. If you don't have any, do an online search for asian groceries. There are many places that you can get them online

  • fish SAUCE.

in case you didn't know, you use fish sauce in all thai dishes & that's what makes it good!!

  • I'm making Thai tomorrow and it is expensive, though worth it.. These ingredients in the states are quite costly. $50 so far & still gotta shop for more lol

    good vid

  • If you buy your ingredients from an Asian store they will cost a lot less. Western supermarkets usually overprice things like fish sauce because they don't buy or sell in great quantities.

Also, remember that many of the ingredients can be used to make Pad Thai again (fish sauce, vinegar, tamarind sauce, peanuts , roasted peppers etc)

  • the tip of how to cook it good is that, you need a flatted pan, strong heat and a very quick and continuous move. check some streetside in thailand and notice a large flatted pan then take some look.

  • I know why thai eat alllll day hahaha

  • I love pad thai! and that courtyard they are cooking in is really nice :)

  • oooooooh man...looks good...but ...too poor to make them..cost too much..hahaha

  • luv it! next time, well show you how to make beef panang :P

  • they did, check her vids :)

  • Yeah! Pad-tai! The chef said "add about 3 tablespoons of oil" and I saw him added like a cup of the thing, then he said "and we'll add about a tablespoon of garlic." I saw him scooped 4-5 tablespoons into the wok. The chef really has a great humour.

  • pad thai very basic thai food think. I like to order a varietyof foods not just the same old boring food. All the westeners only eat pad thai. I think they should try different things. XD

  • pad thai is the best ever!!

  • Play Ball!

  • Oops! I think he forgot the crushed roasted peanuts! its ok...it still looked delish!

  • i love pad thai!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • khob khun maak khap na jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • Dudes, Thai noodles have more varieties than pad thai(Thai stir fried noodle). I live in Chiang Mai and every lunch I'm always end up at the same old resturant where many customers are foreigners. Majority of them always order Pad Thai and I always wonder if they know of other kinds of noodle we have here in our country, like lime tom yum noodle soup, for example. Aren't you bored ordering the same dish over and over ?

  • I agree. Im not a big fan of Thai food though but chiang mai blue room makes great vegetarian food, mushrooms and all. Im not even a vegetarian. I love Vietnamese noodles tho. Pho Bo is the best.

  • im Thai and go to thailand about 2 times a year.

i always order Pad Siew. And Pad Thai. i get bored most of the times and my mum makes me eat different foods.

but i also love Beef Pho.

they actually are saying the same things in this video.. usually they only talk what they think they say...

  • So glad to see these videos are on here! I saw them on TV but I'm not sure if they run them anymore. Thanks!

  • khorb koon!

  • i'm sorry, what did he add after the tofu? i didn't quite get it. please help!

  • The thing that he put after the tofu is preserved turnip. It's available in some Asian supermarket. In Thai it's called "Hua-Chai-Poe" (actually it's chinese word). It tastes a bit sweet and salty. But if you can't find it, that won't be a problem. It doesn't make a big difference.

  • That dude is COOL!!! I want in this family!!!

  • That chick is hot.

  • no!!!!!!!! ho troppa voglia di mangiare pad thai .....basta non posso piu vedere !!!

  • Great Video! I will try to make Padthai tonight ;)

  • Hope you can cook it, Don. Math.

  • If you have problems trying to view this video

click on MORE FROM: EGEEFAY on the UPPER RIGHT hand side of page. I posted the PAD THAI VIDEO again

Sorry but after 68,000 views, this video seems to have stopped working

  • What about the people who don't like spicy?

  • Feel free to leave out the peppers when you are making this dish.

  • Can everybody see the video? I am having troubles to load it.

  • Sorry But YouTube is having a problem with the movie

Go to "thaifoodtonightDOTcom". You'll find the same video there

  • Dried shrimp suck.

  • Dried shrimp to westerners is like strong smelly cheese to Asians...an acquired taste. As a youngster I use to snack on dried shrimp in the same way that kids snack on candy or fruit loops.

  • I usually soak part egg with shrimps and keep part to cook with noodles later. ^^ yum!

  • yummy!!!

  • Hahahaha he cooked it the Asian way. Little of this little of that. Use your own judgement. Season to taste. LOL

  • yeah lol,i was laughing my head off

  • the chef says he is making if for 4 people . It looks so little to me

  • over cook the noodle ...

    : )

  • Thanks. Unfortuneately shrimps are expensive here :(

  • I guess in Thailand 1tsp = 4TBS and 2TBS = 1/4 cup and 2cups = 1/2cup, right...hahahaha! I am sure what he made was delicious but everyone makes this a little different and yes, it should have had peanuts to garnish and lime.

  • correct!

  • This's one of the healthy Thai food!!! All of those vegetables or Herbs are so tasteful, especially "Hua-Pee" or the flower of the banana plants goes pretty well with Pad Thai!!! Love a lot ^^

  • he over cooked the tofu and cut the noodle into small pieces... ckckckckck

  • OMG! You don't know anything.

Tofu wasn't overcooked, it's the color of the other ingredient in the mix.lol

the noodle was cut because it's easier to eat. Who would have wanted to eat a yard long of a noodle...555

  • MMMM.. Aroy mak mak =P~

  • Great Video! I will try to make Padthai tonight ;)

  • Looks so good. When I've been in SamutPrakarn, I'd like to

eat "pad thai" and, many Thai food.

    "Alloy mai kahpp?"

  • i rather so instant pad thai noodle and add my bean spouts.

  • Lol..no kidding, he had the crushed roasted peanuts on the side, but forgot to sprinkle them on in the end...

  • Yeah because he kept it for eating drinking beers. Cheers!

  • Pad Thai without peanuts?

  • Its gonna take hours to make this. I think I'll just order it at the thai resaurant.

  • beautiful video, great translation! Im like maad hungry now :P

  • Yummmmmmmm. Authentic. Although the Maesri stuff in the can tastes pretty good, I bet this tastes even better.

  • Thanks for the post...I'm gonna go cook now.

  • nguya..nguya..nguya..some more plsssssssssss...

  • waaahhhhh.... yum yum.. i'm sooo hungry now.. hahaha

  • man that looks good :]

  • wow

  • yum yum,im hungry now..

  • Gawd, I am so hungry now! Can you post KHMER FOOD also? A group of my students would love to learn some.

  • thank you so much!!! i made pad thai before, but it didn't turn out so good. i can learn from my mistakes thanks to this video!! the shrimps looks soooooo good.

  • well explain, good presentation, simple editing.

very good keep it up guys.

    less talk more cooking.

    lots of cooking less talk.

  • too much work for me to do and to buy and find all that can be a headache so im sticking to thai take away!

  • preparing the sauce is really a new innovation to guarantee a uniform taste...I've seen pros add softened coconut sugar and tamarind sauce (the paste is softened with hot water) and fish sauce as they go. Crushed peanuts can be served as a garnish. Remember...NO PEANUT *SAUCE* in pad thai...only dry roasted crushed peanuts.

  • mmmmmmmmm so good..haven't had pad thai in a lonnnnnggg time >_<

  • yum drool.

  • Im cooking this tonight,-Thanx!

  • Wow, biggest shrimp I've ever seen :O

  • What happened to the crushed peanuts? I didnt see the chef use them.

  • You are the first one to notice that. Seems like we forgot to add the peanuts in. They can be added before adding the beansprouts or sprinkle them on after you've finished cooking (to accomodate those who don't like peanuts)

  • Not a problem. Thanks very much for your videos!! Well done!!!

  • Could you give me the title of the background music for Thai Shrimp Paste episode? Not this episode. Thanks.

  • Hi. Can you be a little more specific. Which episode did you see Thai Shrimp Paste being used. Thanks

  • Sorry. Its called Thai Shrimp Toast. Dim and Cathy Geefay cook up a delicious Thai appetizer in a segment of the TV show "Thai Food Tonight".

  • So bad with dubbing over the origin sound!!!
