I wouldn't go all that far saying if it wasn't for the alphas there would be no black frats today...the 1st black greek letter org was Sigma Pi Phi back in 1904 I believe...let's make sure we "respect der roots" and learn all the history about BLGOs before me make such claims.
To clarify, Sigma Pi Phi was not the 1st Black Intercollegiate fraternity.....Alpha Phi Alpha was. Sigma Pi Phi was not only not founded on a college campus by college students, it had absolutely no influence on the foundation of any other fraternity founded after Alpha Phi Alpha.....though most won't admit its influence on the founding of their fraternity (or sorority).

being real about the situation, it doesn't matter how many people they have on the yard or total. What matters is what are they doing bc you can have 500,000 members and only 10% do what is asked of them and the other 90% are non-active t-shirt wearers. The Iotas I know work hard in the community and live their creed. Remember at some point in time every frat was something new and the other frats looked at them like "who are you?" They must have something to offer bc that have lasted this long.

To clarify, Sigma Pi Phi was not the 1st Black Intercollegiate fraternity.....Alpha Phi Alpha was. Sigma Pi Phi was not only not founded on a college campus by college students, it had absolutely no influence on the foundation of any other fraternity founded after Alpha Phi Alpha.....though most won't admit its influence on the founding of their fraternity (or sorority).

They see this kind of stuff and look down on the org that did it (Iota) and us (D9) as a whole.
