You didn't need a save feature. It had a secret code at the begining that let you play all levels including the special stage and you could listen to all the music in the game. The code was: While holding A press up,down,left,right, and then hit start.

This game kicks ass. I'm 13, and I didn't play it as a kid. I have it on my gamecube, and I love it. You guys played too much Mario as kids and never understood how good Sonic is.

I'm going to give you a five, because you can honestly, deep inside your heart say, that one of the classic games ever are decent, that requiere some balls to do. It should have a port for the 360 too, as that way X-Box fans that are Sonic fans will be happy, like me. So, go to fuckin' hell with your ratings, your ratings mean jackshit to all of us, if that is what you say, face it, and commenting on what someone else wrote, you must be utter crap at this game too, no wonder you kept dying, and no wonder you don't like it. It was supposed to be a challenging platformer for people, and still is, the graphics are excellent for it's age, and still good now.

You need to get the old fashioned genesis system (with 3 button controlle) and sonic 1 cartridge to truly get the gaming experience that was sonic. Wii simply won't do. The music actually isn't as repetitive as mario's either. Maybe you should also find sonic 3&K to also get a gaming experience that is true sonic.
PS. We are respecting the games that built gaming society as we know it today, not living in the past.

Beacause if YOU don't like sth doesn't make it bad. Good reviewers have to be objective even beyond their own taste to make a GOOD review. My opinion on the subject is this: as a platformer,this game had speed and action packed gameplay. and that makes a good platformer. Much like (and i am NOT comparing) the "contra" series.

Well, that was quite stupid.
The gameplay is fast and very fun. I can play the same stage 10 times and it's still a blast the 11th.
The music ruuules. I just love Green Hills theme.
And why didd you review it when you didd'nt get pass Zone 2 in Green Hill? Even a boy on 9 can get pass it!
