  • Extraordinarily good! Almost impossible to distinguish from Pentangle who I saw many times back in the day. The aural similarity of these musicians to original band is even more more extraordinary considering (i) they are Italian (the singer's English folk voice is perfect) and (ii) the band members were probably not even born in 1970. Well done and please go on tour...

  • Frankly, I think a Pentangle cover band is more impressive than the real thing. One side of a Pentangle album is about as much as anyone I ever knew could "take", and kudos to a group of people willing & able to tackle the Pentangle repertoire. They may have been boring after 20 minutes, but the band displayed a very high level of musicianship, complexity, etc.

  • Thank you I thought it was the real thing they fooled me, could they be In my youth they were in the top of groups I loved and Still do. a super fine rendendtion As they said here in the US is it live or is it memorix

  • Wow, a Pentangle cover band! There IS hope for the future!

  • This is fantastic. Too bad there's a lot of talking in the audience. Do they not understand how excellent this performance is?

  • @RantovRizzia It was an "audition concert"..the camera was near the jury..:)

  • Well done, great sound.

  • I'm plotzing...(sure glad I wasn't betting on the artist's identity...)

  • brilliant

  • Very nicely done!

  • Great cover. I'd like to go hear/see this group in a club. Not enough of this kind of music being played anymore. Rude audience, though. Damn! Shut up and listen to the music people! This is too good to be talking through.

  • A great cover of a great song by a great band whose memory deserves to be immortal. Well done! A most worthy tribute to the original five musicians. Keep up the good work!

  • this is folk music because they never wrote the music down, it is remembered; it changes through time, it changes because of who plays it and how they feel when they play it and what it means to them.

you can be a beginner and still play your own versions of songs. thats music.

  • Amazing--what an effort to work this out!

  • wELL DONE - YOU DO THEM PROUD

  • No member of the band ever considered the music that he does together with the others generally as folk music. I am quiet astonished that someone else is so modest to qualify ... Your argument has gone done the river.

  • hot stuff! faithful cover- dont give the notation away, this is folk music and needn't be written down- let people work out their own version!

  • i always wonder why the folk community are so exclusive about membership. What harm could it cause for beginner musicians to pick up the notation and learn the song if they lack the ability to work it out for themselves. Folk music is passed down through generations and often involves somebody teaching songs to others anyway. If you don't know a folkie and want to learn songs you could use the notation and still be entirely able to put out your own interpretation after that.

  • Exactly! Most folk and traditional blues were still taught from one musician to another. Son House taught Robert Johnson songs etc. Many folk and blues numbers are simple and great for beginners to learn. Personally, I'd rather them develop an early interest in folk. Folk mean's people, it's for everyone.

  • congratulations, dear italian friends, you have done an honourable and faithful rendition of the Pentangle classic. Very enjoyable indeed. Look forward to more!

An old, almost ancient, Pentangle fan,

    ...the word of gord

  • this is good, like to see other pentangle covers you do.

  • Yes that is right: The very fact you are covering Pentangle indicates that you all have class. Where did you get the sheet music for the guitars or was this worked out by your own?

  • We worked it out by our own! To be true, we have to thank our talentous fiddler and guitarist, that works for us all, to transcribe the music! Thanks for your kind comments... Where are you from? (This is a message both for you and for "crazyatomicmonkey")

    Have sweet may days...

  • Thanks for your answer. Renbourn once told me that there was no need to write complete sheet music for Pentangle music. Jantsch never wrote something down. So the work your talentous guitarist has done is very valuable. Worldwide your band is the only one in the internet who covers Pentangle on this level.Think on the fact that Pentangle is celebrating next month the 40 years legendy. Congratulation again. Is there a chance to get the guitar transcriptions for musical studies? Christian, Germany

  • Dear Christian,

thanks for replying. My friend Cristiano has not precisely worked on the sheet transcriptions; often he has just recognized the right position of fingers for the guitars, without writing out tabs.

He has just written out some sheets for the bass and the tabs of some songs. If you'd like to receive them, you could send here your e-mail address!

    Have a nice day!

  • PS: We have just booked the flights for 29th June. Will you reach London too? We could meet there!

    Silverea

  • We shall be attending the concert on 6the of july in Oxford. May we can meet another time on one of your concerts ...

    Best regards! Uwe Christian

  • Thanks for your reply. I shall try to contact you concerning the tabs on another way. Best regards! Uwe Christian

  • A truly excellent cover if I do say so, myself. But what of some sort of transcription for the guitars? Where did you find sheet music for this song?

  • Silverea , rimembri ancora,

quando beltà splendea negli strumenti nostri ridenti e fuggitivi?...ahahah..

  • this is very lovely! Glad to see some contemporary groups still doing this kind of music... nice vocals... great live cover... :)

  • The very fact you are covering Pentangle indicates you all have class. Very well done. Best of luck.

  • Nice one. Never thought i'd see this track covered.

Why don't you tour the UK?

  • Yes,it is obvious it's not The Pentangle but you've done a very good version of one of my favourite songs.I hope you continue to prosper. Thanks,or should i say molte grazie.

  • i think i love that girl
