Think the consensus is everybody's used to making fun of your tips, this one is actually more practical and useful so everybody here is confused what to say.
Bad advice. The Tip Is, you didn't have to post this video, but you DID! No one puts a solid frozen turkey in the oven to thaw it out unless................no wait, not unless-don't do it. A warm water bath in the clean kitchen sink will be quicker without annihilating the outside of the bird. The water gets inside too-just keep adding more warm water since its a giant ice cube, yank out the neck and giblets when warm and get those joints moving. OR, go out to eat if you forgot to defrost it!
Even when you follow the directions for thawing, the turkey is still half frozen anyway. I always thought that you'd do just as well to put the whole damn thing in the oven frozen.
@TheLMack The tip isn't saying that you SHOULD cook a turkey like this, it's just saying that you CAN. Think of it more as "plan b" if your forgot to thaw your turkey, or it hasn't thawed all the way through by the time you need to cook it. A large thanksgiving turkey can take as long as 4 days to thaw completely!
@GoliathGunner The plastic leg holders are safe to leave on the bird up to 500 degrees. I cut them enough to get the bits out of the inside, but otherwise leave them on the bird.
Put the frozen turkey in the middle of the table and let everyone just start lickking. MMMM. Fun for the whole famley and it will last longer. MMM. Raw turkey. MMM.

How smart do you expect a person to be who forgets to thaw the turkey but remembers that you can cook it frozen? It makes no sense.
