  • they should just quit playing this song, they've got others. at least drop the solo.......show some respect, people will like that. anything but this crap of paladinos. i mean whats he trying to prove with that shit?

  • I sometimes wonder if they might've been just slightly not too unhappy to see John go, he tended to turn up too loud, and the fact that they found a bass player with a completely different style? And it's not like they ask him to play that thing John would do at the end of Won't Get Fooled Again, the A to E to D; A to E, G slide up to D bit. Sounded great but maybe Pete didn't like it? Because Pino doesn't play it? And Pino ain't so loud?

  • Pino is the only other bassist that can play almost as good as John.

    R.I.P. John

(thanks Pino for filling in for him)

  • you got to give the guy credit for being a replacement for the ox, pretty big shoes to fill

  • Pino grooves, end of story.

    Palladino > Entwhistle

  • no way man

  • Is this the the real who? Cause the solo sounds pretty awful.

  • yes, it is the real who! but pino palladino plays bass instead of the late john entwistle.

  • R.I.P man

the solo was not bad though

  • fucking shite bass solo's

  • pino is not as tecnical, as fast or as stylish as john, we lost a good bloke to cocaine and 2 whores ;)

no john or keith... not enough left in the who

  • you don't understand how good pino is, he's the most acclaimed session bassist ever and doesn't even read notes, he just makes up all of his bass lines and does them first take, he doesn't do fancy tapping like john but pino is much more versatile and can play anything.

  • The most aclaimed session Bassist ever?

I can think of a few guys who are well ahead in the line for that title!

Pino is a great player but by his own admission, he cant play like the Ox so he doesnt try to.

  • he's a master of the fretless bass, perhaps him or James Jamerson are the most acclaimmed session bassists, and neither read notes, I love rubbing that in the face of pretentious music theory fuckers

  • Both can read.

Oh, and music theory is nothing unless you have the ears to back it up. For instance, you may drive a car but some guys can drive a car and tell how you the engine runs.

  • pino doesn't read notes

  • I've never heard that. Though Jamerson could read for sure. It says so in his biography.

  • I know that when be played the Motown stuff he just took the chord and did his own thing.

  • Read the "Standing in The Shadows of Motown" book and then we'll talk. Jamerson could read.

Where have you read that Pino can't ?

  • my teacher knows him personally, and it says so in Stuart Clayton's book 'giants of bass'

  • His cock is 12" long and he can lift a car while farting flames!!

Pino is awesome, and one of the best fretless players ALIVE. But for any random session, I'ld use Will Lee. I'm sure you realize, trying to convince the youtube crowd that one is better than the other is a touchy subject. Personally, I try to appreciate each one individually for their own particular merits. With that said... JACO RULES!!!!!

  • couldn't have put it better myself

  • There is one guy from England who made as much sessions with the greatest artists, as Pino, but is better and more versatile than Pino (and more successful). he recorded and toured with Roxy Music, Michael Jackson, Gary Moore, Madonna and Pink Floyd. Madonna's song "Like A prayer" is a good example of his musicianship. His name is Guy pratt !!!

  • o and gtw, louis davis is a cock sucker ;)

  • pino is probably technically better player but john was the true bassist

  • or maybe john blows him away in EVERY way...

  • i think as soon as entwistle and moon died, they knew they werent the who ie all the many session players they have now,and albums like its hard and endlesswire are quite far from people expect

  • No Entwistle, no Keith Moon: no WHO

  • John Entwhistle was strictly a rock bassist and had that type of mentality in its playing, it was definetly edgier and more agressive. Pino is a great bassist who has the ability to emulate various genres of music.. he adds his own twist to the who basslines, kind of making them groove a bit more. He especially has a lot of fills. I think hes doing a great job. Very creative.

  • I agree with %100. Though, those fills in the video do seem pretty stinky.

  • Like TheOx515 said, No John Entwistle, no My Generation.

  • pino got nothing on entwistle

  • No John Entwistle, No My Generation

  • yeah, that's true. pino palladino is really no substitute for him. rest in peace john

  • once again, I disagree. I think Pino has a better sensibility when it comes to bass-playing. it's not the heavy, tapping bullshit, it's a groove.

  • lmao thats true but enwistle used that solo to innovate the bass's role in rock..and i guess pino put a now a day's bass groovy solos on it. i couldn't think of a better person to fill john's shoes.

  • @aManCalledBender pino palladino is still a great bass player, even if he's not john.

  • I was there too... but not in the first row ! Great !!!

    Thanks for all the videos...

  • no problem^^
