All you people who called Barbados "uptight" must have been hanging out with the wrong people lol. Great job with the pics. You really did some "sightseeing" lol. Sometimes you can't take other people's word when it comes to vacations. What's fun for one may not be fun for another. I've been to Antigua and was bored to tears. Barbados,Trinidad and Dominica are my fav islands. All the islands offer different things. It just depends on what you're looking for.

I mean you must be talking about COSTUME JEWELERY? Check out Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, St. Maartin, St. Thomas, Jamaica, Antigua. Barbados is last on the list. Even the flowers are ugly. The Cannon looks like a toy. Couldn't you find a horse without a broken leg. Oops, the horse just did one in the sea.  Even your tourists are ugly and look poor. I know you wanted to show off the banana trees, but couldn't you find some where without the rubbish. Barbados is rock stones. LOL

I've been top Jamaica 5 times and I ALWAYS hang with the natives, its a fun place and nobody ever bothered me other than wanting me to buy something. Jamaica is the BOMB!

Barbados is NOT racist. It is the one place you can see tourist walking and driving around all over the Island...some other Islands you can't even leave the Hotel...I go there all the time and see visitors everywhere.

It is a beautiful and exciting place to visit! The Hilton and Cobbler's Cove are two hotels I'd recommend.

like I said, this is my experience. I have been to many other islands, so dont get upset that someone didnt fall in love . I wasnt too thrilled with the island and will not ever be returning ..

Never been to St MARteen, but planning to go to France, and St Lucia soon. Last year we went to Barbadoes . We rented a two bedroom suite, with the works, but For the oddest reasons, I didnt have a great week. First caribbean island that i didnt enjoy, and I have been to a couple. It may have been the atmosphere (small crowded island??) Did enjoy walking thru the markets in Bridgetown. That was fun and entertaining.

Thanks for the comments cobo! We are going to St. Martaan this summer. Ever been? Loved Barbados. Went back a second time last summer to further explore Barbados' historic ties with the Carolina, especially the Charleston, SC area where we live. I wrote a big travel piece for our Charleston newspaper on the topic. The Hilton on Barbados is fabulous especially if you have privileges to use the conceriegge (sp?) lounge at night-- free drinks!

No, we did 1 week in barbados then a cruise aroung Trinidad, Margarita, Granada, St Lucia and St Vincent. Barbados was my favourite we stayed at the Savannah (next to the Hilton) and it was wonderful. Watch out for my videos of the West indies on here very soon. And I hope you have a wonderful time in St Martaan.
