  • a legend

  • wow!

  • I don't really feel satan here, but I'm kinda glad I don't. Rainer is too good at channeling spirits. Don't go there. Love the video editing, because it's great to see all three of them working together and not be only trained on the beloved lead performer. Nick Augustine, bass. Will Clipman, drums.

  • I rememebr being taken to a very low key concert he gave at Hazelwood House in the south hams area of Devon. I was blown away. There was a chap who came to see him as well adn played his harmonica so so softly at the very back. Rainer said Hey man don't be shay Play along. One of the best musical exsperiences I have ever had. Sadly I heard recently that he had die dsuch a huge los to all who crossed his path. Thank you for sharing waht you have of him with us.

  • Brilliant! Amazing goose pimply gig, I love his "life is fine" song as well, inspirational.

  • I love it!!!! Base line and guitar solo by Rainer....I enjoy every second of this video.Thank you very much.

    Greetings from Croatia

  • sounds nada like rj fail

  • spills2. You are wright and very cute: the man on bass is without doubts the great

Wesley Snipes. The best with the best!

  • Born in Germany ( I think ) he lived in Texas. I think also he is one of the best singer and blues guitar player since he was livin' and before.

  • Genius !

If you like that sound, check the song "Magic Arrow" by Timber Timbre !

  • Anyone know what tuning he uses on this song?

  • Why not post the rest of your great video - if its 30 minutes - would love to see/hear the rest

  • Wow, this is amazing!!! I'm off to watch more Rainer Ptacek....

  • Absolutely off the scale. What a loss, but with sweet cool memories such as this at least we can enjoy the magic he left with us.

  • One of a kind !

  • still amazing.

  • i didn't know wesley snipes played bass!

  • I do believe this is the finest low-budget music video I have ever seen.

It captures all of the scintillating exitement of a Rainer live performance, which were incomparable.

  • It's funny as people tenderly try to put a label

for something so peculiar and unique for style and attitude as Rainer.

  • god i miss him :(

  • Into the Mystic

  • Back then there was Rainer Ptacek, John Campbell & Spencer Bohran. All superb artists. Rainer was great and he died so young which is a terrible shame. He reminded me abit of John Martyn at times.

  • Rainer is always so possesed by his songs it's just amazing and a true guide for any artist ! Great rendition of an all time blues classic

  • I have tears in my eyes. Pure Magic. Ive said it before and I say it again - Rainer was the Vini Reilly (Durutti Column) of the West!

  • that's the best Rainer Ptacek's vid I've seen. Transe blues music !

  • huh, this is GREAT, first time i heard rainer ptacek, he was incredible, thanks for uploading this

  • transcendental!

  • What a great performance. Talk about a solid power trio.

  • I first watched this in the early hours of last night and have spent all day today at work worrying that I may have only dreamed that it had emerged! Thanks so much for sharing it. The video proves that Rainer was incredible in '85 but, amazingly he became INCANDESCENT in the few short years before he died! Check out the 'Later' performance and buy his cd's!! His legacy must live on!!

  • amen to that dude

  • From 22 years ago?? Nah! A timeless performance.
