I totally agree with other posters, John Suchet deserved a decent send-off after 32 years at ITN/ITV News. He was one of the best Newscasters IMO. The 90s era, with Suchet, Nicholas Owen, Dermot Murnaghan, Trevor McDonald, Carol Barnes, they were all excellent newscasters, compared to some today, who personally wouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as those listed. John was the best IMO. Was great to see him back on Five News, then the remake of Going For Gold.
Have to agree with other posters that ITV have no sense of the nations thought when newscasters leave! This was an appalling lack of moment for Poirots brother! 32 years! And they did nothing! OMG almost as bad as the BBC!
ITV doesn't give a fuck.

I credit John Suchet as being the person who motivated me to pursue a career in the media. I always felt that he was a superior newscaster.
I think he found it very difficult to leave the job.
