  • I remeber seing this on tv and thought it was gerard way sinngging it XD love this song!

  • Classic smashing pumpkins song my fav from them

  • I went to the same high school as James Iha.

I don't really understand the "I am only blah years old." It should not matter the age of the person, great music is great music. Most the great modern music just happened to be made prior to the millennium.

I like the Beatles, Stones, the Million Dollar Quartet, Edison Lighthouse, Dr. Dre, Pumpkins, Nirvana, Queen, Peter Frampton, Clapton. Universal music doesn't need "I am 16 and I like it!" comments

Reserve that for Katy Perry and Lady Ca-ca.

  • Childhood flashback....wow...that's heavy. I know music can take you back but smashing pumpkins makes me forget that I ever left a time where My world was still so young. I don't get it. Billy corgan is a lyrical and musical genius

  • Also, did anyone else notice that the name of the ship at 4:06 is the S.S. Melies? ;)

  • @OddOneOut665 ;)

The producers of this video were winking to the folks who know who that is!

  • Am I the only one who wishes Billy would stage a SP comeback?

  • AWESOME

  • I first listened to this song with my dad when i was around 7, i'm 16 now and i still love this song and the band.

Just gonna say thank you to my dad for introducing so many amazing musicians to me. Love you.

  • @TheNaomiSam Thank your dad for me... you transcend the crap music of your generation... lol

  • @4gunpictures Yeah I will :) Lol yeah I know, but saying that i listen to pretty much every type of music going :')

  • @TheNaomiSam I listen to all styles too, but I just can't stand some of the newer crap... A few bands out there that are new, but the majority it just sounds like the same over and over

  • @4gunpictures Totally agree with you there!

  • This song, and the video too, both remind me of the old "Little Nemo" comic strips by Winsor McCay. I just love it. :)

(If you don't know what it is, look it up, all the comics from 1905-1914 are available by public domain)

  • i didn't know gerard way is a former member of smashing pumpkins!.

  • Oh man. I remember when I was a kid (bout 7 or 8) and saw this music video on MTV! It blew me away!

  • One of my all-time favorite songs.

  • best song!!!

  • I'm a baseball fan but MLB and Fox nearly killed this song

  • like the Odyssey, this song is an epic

  • man this is real rock, well not compared to todays average rock songs, wait does rock even exist

  • EMI is blocking it, as if they own it. Jerkoffs.

  • strange...before he was spongebob - he was a gent on a zeppelin fighting aliens.

  • @theerwinrommel1891

And yet you still can't spell?

  • This was the song playing when I asked my girlfriend to go out with me, but when we were just friends, all my friends hated this song, but it was my favorite song, and I instantly took a liking to her when she told me she loved it too, and on the 14th of June, we'll be going out a year, this song will be on repeat all day, I love smashing pumpkins, and this song is amazing <3

Just me, a bike and a beautiful girl at the other side of a bright island.

    Fuck.

  • 7 people don't believe that life can change

  • @antaeusguy I hope you mean lady gaga copied them, either that or you got your dates assbackwards.

  • oh! it's Gerard Way! xD just kidding!

  • @tkmxz when i first heard my chemical romance, gerard's voice did remind me of billy corgan's voice. but yknow, the smashing pumpkins are 1000000000000000x better even tho i love mcr

  • Great song, very weird video.

  • @TheWarrior2Game7 It was based on a 1902 silent film called A Trip To The Moon

  • the impossible is possible....tonight

  • this song makes me infinitely happy.

  • @fuckinamike me too

  • @fuckinamike seriously the greatest band of all time, either my first or second favorite song of all time in music.

its either smashing pumpkins- thirty three or smashing pumpkins- tonight tonight

  • The couple in this video, is the voice actor for Spongebob, Tom Kenny and his real life wife Jill. :3

I love this song by the way, this video is awesome. :D

  • Wow, forgot how killer 90's videos were, damn don't we all wish MTV was still this damn cool?

  • awe i used to watch this when i was a kid............when mtv atcually played music videos and not these stupid shows

  • @marimar8407 And when MTV played good music. I was 9 when this came out. But I can still remember it.

  • @marimar8407 same here man, mtv went to shit

  • @marimar8407 same here man, mtv went to shit

  • This song came out before I was born (or maybe a bit after cuz i don't really know) but I always remember hearing it when i was little. I liked it but i never knew until recently that i heard it because my dad would sometimes play it on guitar. its one of those memories that stick out from when your 3 or 4

  • Muito foda essa musica incrivel nao entendo o porque daquele comentario que.. folga na musica em primero

  • This is definitely one of the Best Songs Ever. :)

  • Voyage to the moon yay :3

  • One reason (in my opinion) this song is a masterpiece. When listening to this as a 16 year old, it sounded like an rallying cry for idealism and belief. A defiant musical stand against cynicism. Now being nearly 30, and knowing how old Corgan was when it was written, it sounds more like he's looking back on that time of youth in his own life with bittersweet nostalgia, knowing it's lost forever. "You can never ever leave, without leaving a piece of youth." So true.

  • @Vamphaery omg, when it first came out, I was 7 years old! & even I recognized its brillance then!

  • 6 people got hit by umbrellas

  • Anyone else feel that this is one of the greatest songs of all time?

  • @deathvalleyresident1 I suppose that's possible. :-)

I'm not a big Smashing Pumpkins fan by any means but this particular song is truly pure greatness.

  • @LS1LT1 Never been a big fan of the singer myself, but he is growing on me. Kind of like Deftones. Both have some of my favorite instrumentals though.

  • @deathvalleyresident1 well its a close second its almost as good as justin beiber

  • @deathvalleyresident1 Not even a little

  • @deathvalleyresident1 the best video of all times (after michael jackson thriller that is).

  • Attacked by the slim jim guys......

  • Sorry folks, I meant VOYAGE DANS *LA* LUNE by Georges Melies (1902)!

  • @GrrrQQVYGhOuLi3s No it's "A trip to the moon". 1903 0or 1902 I just watched the movie after seeing this and it was epic lol and the best 12 mins of my life !!!lol

  • @australianforlife Same thing @GrrrQQVYGhOuLi3s said, just a different language.

  • @australianforlife yes, indeed. It's just a French title, it means the same thing. However, it is pretty amazing for the time. You should see some other Georges Melies films if you haven't already, that is.... Like "Le Diable Noir" (1905). The effects are awesome cosidering the generation in which it was filmed! =]

  • @australianforlife lol that's the english title, the movie is french, and is really titled " le voyage dans la lune" ( a trip to the moon) is is a century old

  • OMG. I just love this video, it's so amazing, fantastical, imaginative, and inspiring! It is definitely one of the most beautiful songs & videos by the Pumpkins. If you like this video too, you should watch Voyage dans da Lune (Voyage to the Moon) by Georges Melies from 1902. This video was solely inspired by the imagery of it, and uses some of the same tricks the silent film does. Watch it! It's worth it!

& Billy does kinda look like Gerard. I thought that too when MCR released Revenge. =]

  • I love this song, who gives a shit if billy looks like gerard way? theyr both cool guys, so whats your problems?

  • not pretty! u ve got some nerve

  • Comment removed

  • he aint pretty,but what a voice---

  • @odinfreja11 dude go jump off a bridge Billy is like God

  • LOVE THIS SONG. I REALLY DO

  • Best Smashing Pumpkins song!!!! I cry when I see this.

  • @debeagan2722 same here

  • Old school special effects ftw!!!!!

  • this is only one of the greatest songs smashing pumpkins has to offer like 1979, Thirty-Three, Disarm, "Zero", and much more

  • great video and great way to revive an old movie

  • @Dorach79 What is the movie called

  • Comment removed

  • @karmaofgood The name of the movie that inspired this video is called 'A Trip To The Moon'. It is an old silent film. Also- just a fun fact- the couple in this video are actually married in real life. And he does the voice of Spongebob Squarepants. That's Patchy The Pirate. Haha

  • @AmandaChaney Thank you, that's awesome might look it up later. I knew the whole spongebob thing. I could tell from his facial expressions, and that's how much a 20 year old watched spongebob lol.

  • It boggles my mind how this only has 25,000 views.

  • @MalcomEggs i think they had to reupload it cuz of copyright shit

  • @hugeozzyfan1 yeah the original had millions of views

  • I did not realize until I went to a steampunk festtival today that this was a steampunk video! I knew it was stylistic but couldnt put a name to it. I think this is one of the Pumpkins best songs and vids, LOVE IT.

  • @BostonBear Oh wow I never realized that but...it totally is. Huh.

  • CLASSIC 90'S MUSIC

ís where they took the idea of this video ;)

    enjoy it...

  • @1selvatico

Same in a horrible depressive nostalgia way. Life was much more simple.

  • the music video is based on a very early film called a trip to the moon.

  • best song EVER? please. There are 20 other S.P. songs better than this.

  • @wanabepunkrocker which ones?

  • This is beautiful in every way. Long live SP...the way they used to be.

  • I love the background music, his voice is a bit too different for me though.

  • great song... but when he says tonight i think he sounds like eric cartmen from south park ha

  • Maudit, je viens de trouver ce qui me dérange d'Arcade Fire, ils copie les Smashing.....

  • im havin this when i die, lol

  • Believe in me as I believe in you.....Tonight

  • @BADPERKELE :'( that line always gets me

  • ...the SP has been known for their great videos, their sense of video style in potraying their song is unbelievable good. "Tonight, Tonight" is i guess their first true awesome video which earn them best vid clip award.

But my all time favorite video clip is none other than "stand inside your love" it has got so much emotion, drama and ambience, it literally had the hairs on my back standing cuz it was just so powerfull n emotionally moving and visually sureal.
