Loved Ray Stevenson in this > best Punisher hands down. A joy to watch all that military training blazing through. My only quibble are most of the villains. I know they were comic book but Looney Bin Jim and the Monkey crew were unnecessary. Otherwise, this is a really entertaining film.
I have a real soft spot for the Dolph Lundgren Punisher too. Definitely an 80s action film take on the character, but Ray IS Frank Castle. I really hope he gets another chance to play him.
I reckon they will re-do the punisher movie again for the Secret Defenders. In Thor they had a cameo of Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner w/ bow an arrow) and Iron Man 2 had War Machine. We need a Luke Cage movie, a Hawkeye movie, a new Ghost Rider (Nicholas Cage sucked) and a S.H.I.E.L.D. movie for Black Widow. With that, we have the Secret Defenders, and Dr. Doom will shit himself to death.
Ray looks like an amiable guy. Most interviewees are hard on Chuck but Ray made it easy for him. It's good to see Ray getting notable roles - his portrayal of Titus Pullo in "Rome" is simply one of the best film performances ever.
Chuck's not a great interviewer but much credit to him for creating his page on the
site enabling movie fans to see the stars and hear their opinions on various topics.
The only thing i didn't like is how stevenson got those pussy ass M9's and Jane got those sick 1911's with those compensators i mean i hate m9's they fire such a pussy round

Ray Stevenson was a phenomenal choice for the "hard-boiled gunslinger" approach that Warzone took, and Tom Jane nailed the raw emotion of the "freshly-made" Punisher. Both were great in their own regard, but wouldn't have done as well in the opposite film.
...Although I DO like the action sequences in Warzone quite a bit better.

I do hope they bring Ray SOON! I love this version of Frank Castle, Ray Stevenston is the best in this role. I also love the extreme this film took with the color in the lighting, Dick Tracy is obviously the insperation for the lighting and camera angles. Dark Knight had the same basic scenes and angles as Dick Tracy, even down to the Mob Boss Meeting. The Joker also takes after Big Boy in Dick Tracy, with his arguement on how to deal with The Batman.

War Zone was is the real Punisher. Everything about it was true to what the real punisher was meant to be. No matter what any critic thinks, this movie kicked some major ass! I loved it.

2004 one had more character developing and story, but this one does what the MAX series did, show you this man in pain kicking a lot of ass showing no mercy, I believe this one is closer to the comic. The ones putting this movie down obviously have no idea how The Punisher it's supposed to be like. And it's not that Ray is a better actor because Thomas is great (watch The Mist) but he was way too pretty and young to play the "old man".
This is an absolutely terrible movie with the plot turns stupid beyond imagination. Too bad that Ray was involved with it, he did a good job, and seems a cool dude overall, as I can see from this interview.

I liked the 2004 release because it was more story driven and developed characters and kept you guessing, and then I like 2008 version because its funny, dark, violent, and more action packed.

Hehe---he's hansome, his acting is great, and he gives wonderful facial expressions---of course he's British! American actors don't even have skill anymore compared to this guy. Surprisingly, a woman directed this movie. This is one brutal flick, that's for sure. Heads getting blown off, decaps, neck breaks, and bullet-holes. But it's a guy movie, so I bought it on Blu-ray!! Love it!
Ray Stevenson IS... by far... the Punisher ! He should come back to play ol' Frank in a few sequels. I liked the fact that Jigsaw AND Micro were in the film, but they should've kept both of them alive or... at least... Micro. Also, it should have had a much longer running time (preferably more than 2 hours). Otherwise, it would have been perfect instead of just the best of the three versions made so far.

I really have followed the punisher series, like the max series, the war journal and war zone etc. I've really been a fan as long as ive read comics. after seeing this movie i loved it, it connected pretty well to the max series the way it was supposed to. and ray stevenson captured what frank castle was supposed to be like.unfortunately sales were not too bright. march 17th dvd release double disc will be great! this is a better if not the best punsher movie..... being true to the comic character that the punisher is, punishment for the corrupt. and ray is perfect for punisher role, it will be the best for the marvel franchise if he retains the character in the next punisher movies, since marvel tie-ups are going to be on the big screen by 2010.

2004 one had more character developing and story, but this one does what the MAX series did, show you this man in pain kicking a lot of ass showing no mercy, I believe this one is closer to the comic. The ones putting this movie down obviously have no idea how The Punisher it's supposed to be like. And it's not that Ray is a better actor because Thomas is great (watch The Mist) but he was way too pretty and young to play the "old man".

This is an absolutely terrible movie with the plot turns stupid beyond imagination. Too bad that Ray was involved with it, he did a good job, and seems a cool dude overall, as I can see from this interview.
Don't get me wrong, I love the character, but this move was awful. The Thomas Jane movie was awesome, though.

This movie seem to be Good! only problem(if you wanna call it) is there is no Household names like 2004 Punisher. and first Punisher movie was only Dolph Lundgren who was famous(Rocky 4,Masters of the universe). but i think Ray Stevenson would be more serious, and more comic like Punisher than Lundgren or Jane.

I liked the 2004 release because it was more story driven and developed characters and kept you guessing, and then I like 2008 version because its funny, dark, violent, and more action packed.

Hehe---he's hansome, his acting is great, and he gives wonderful facial expressions---of course he's British! American actors don't even have skill anymore compared to this guy. I don't think the movie would have been the same if another actor played Punisher. Only a great actor could pull off some those those bad lines he was given into something that did not sound so corney. No American acting these days can do that. Thank you Mr. Stevenson for making such a great performance!

Surprisingly, a woman directed this movie. This is one brutal flick, that's for sure. Heads getting blown off, decaps, neck breaks, and bullet-holes. But it's a guy movie, so I bought it on Blu-ray!! Love it!

Ray Stevenson IS... by far... the Punisher ! He should come back to play ol' Frank in a few sequels. I liked the fact that Jigsaw AND Micro were in the film, but they should've kept both of them alive or... at least... Micro. Also, it should have had a much longer running time (preferably more than 2 hours). Otherwise, it would have been perfect instead of just the best of the three versions made so far.

I really have followed the punisher series, like the max series, the war journal and war zone etc. I've really been a fan as long as ive read comics. after seeing this movie i loved it, it connected pretty well to the max series the way it was supposed to. and ray stevenson captured what frank castle was supposed to be like.unfortunately sales were not too bright. march 17th dvd release double disc will be great! Punisher for life!

like leaving someone alive who tells you they are gonna bury you, so he can crash into you and almost kill you, should have lit him up right there, or how about blowing up the boat and leaving the kid alive. cus none of those are costly mistakes.
The revengerer is not the punisher . Maybe the overdrinkerer and definatly the crierer.

i wouldn't say a bone-head is capable of taking out multiple well armed and barricaded individuals, i got news for ya , frank aint real, this is as close as it gets to the "character". I think he should have been shot at least once in this movie (not counting the vest shots) as he gets "hit" often in the comic. If he didn't do any recon how'd he hit the house from rear disable the power and sneak onto a table, without being detected , luck??? 2004 took way more fucking liberties with "mistakes"

Hey, idiot, read the comic books. Frank Castle isn't young. He's at least in his late 40's, just like Ray Stevenson. You think because you saw The Punisher with Thomas Jane (which was a terrible adaptation) you know all about the character, well you don't. Go read the comics or at least study up on the character, because Thomas Jane was a pussy version of Frank Castle.
