The lottery is such an asinine way of determining the order in which teams pick. It should be like the NFL- the team with the worst record gets the 1st pick, and so on.

This system was implanted to stop teams from tanking. Of course, teams still tank, and teams like Memphis who NEED a franchise player never get the #1 pick, thus they never get a franchise player.

But hey, if Memphis wins it this year and gets John Wall, I won't complain anymore.

The draft works like this the worst teams get higher in the daft and the better team get lower depending how good you team did that year then you can enter the daft if you want to see if you can get a higher pick

theres no difference, you can get drafted directly from Europe as well.. If youre good, youll be drafted, simple, just sign up..

but basketball is not teached very good in europe, basketball in europe really sucks, and not many nba players are from europe, and that just shows how much we suck at basketball, i live in denmark, and love basketball, but i will probably never play probasketball in the nba, europe sucks, i wish i was born in the states, and that i was born black ;-)

dont talk like Denmark would be whole Europe, in baltic countries, especially in Lithuania, basketball is like religion. even tho in Estonia where i live, basketball isnt #1 sport, you can find basketball practices everywhere, with decent coaches and if youre good, you would be in your national league pretty early and then you could get to NBA draft right away if youre already dominant, or Euroleague and then its even easier to be found by NBA scouts.

thats cuz people dont sign up for draft.. just look at the draft list, how many europeans u see? not many, thats cuz europeans arent either interested in NBA or they dont believe in themselves, or they might have family here already or whatever.. its another continent. Also, some players come back from NBA..

but like ive said earlier, if youre good enough, youll get to NBA easily, but they dont need to bring bench warmers from Europe, cuz they can get em from the US as well.
