I read somewhere online that: people who have idolized about a country and thought that that was the "best country on Earth" will comeback to their homeland and be disappointed; while people who had to go to that country due to (for example) work will come back pleased with that country and generally be happy about that country.
Occasionally he writes some interesting articles (like the Dragon Quest V review) but most of his writing comes across as pretentious bullshit that's more about self-aggrandizing writing than the game itself. He's basically a hipster game reviewer, and Action Button is what you get when you make Pitchfork Media a review site for games. Generally not a good thing.
Oh god I want to punch this guy in the face and dick with someone else's legs. He's a pompous, no-nothing douche and every phrase coming from his mouth is retardedly vague, circuitous and riddled with smugness and fabrications.
Good lord, he's even more self serving and pretentious in person than he is in his "articles". I don't know who I hate more- Tim himself, or the people who fawn over him.
"Famous" is a pretty generous label, Tim. "Well-known to a fraction of people who use the internet to talk about video games and mocked by half of those people" is fame sliced to the width of about one electron.
I'm sure, if pressed, it'd turn out to have been meant ironically all along.
And I still read his boring, self-indulgent blog. When he actually talks about video games, and not how proud he is to be a vegan non-smoker and patron saint of semi-colons, he's actually really worthwhile.
This is the first time I've seem him in person; he sounds very self important, which I can forgive, but I still love his articles. When you have the time to read them, he also makes intelligent and original commentary on videogames. They're a joy to read.
Tim Rogers is the coolest guy he's ever met and he won't let anyone forget it.
He does many things, but none seemingly well. There are hundreds of edgy, self-inflated 20-somethings out there that live overseas and do 100 things a day, but I guess only Tim has the balls to tell you how awesome his version of it is.
I have nothing against him, but his annoying, scrambled verbosity is popping up too often on the web for my tastes.

Well, he is sort of famous--famous by the standards of game journalism, at least. I mean, he was the supertstar of Insertcredit: anybody who knew it knew Tim (even though some of them didn´t even know Sheffield!)
Exactly. It's a "big fish, little pond" thing, and that would be completely fine if Rogers didn't continuously remind us of how famous he is and how much we all want to be him.
"Yeah I'm pretty popular on the internet. It's no big deal or anything. I just wrote about 50 paragraphs about some video games's, and sent them to some people who might be interested.
"Are you impressed? But, anyway, like I said, whatever. It's not like I was trying to achieve anything- I'm what you'd call a 'mild-mannered' long-winded douche. B)"

Insert credit is by far one of my favourite games sites, I never joined it's community but Tim's articles are so interesting because he's such a good writer. Great vid!

You know, his articles are really GOOD and all, but he's not nearly as famous as he sometimes implies he is.
Not to be a real bitch or anything.
