  • I was referring more to hearing impaired people like myself--those who are not completely deaf. I have never thought about it as being offensive for myself personally, but I can see how you would say that. It's like it's being compared to some different, better standard of hearing when phrased that way....though I feel for myself and others who are not, sometimes it is as the better standard because it's what we lost vs. deaf people may prefer deafness, and don't see it as "different"

  • Can you consider to use the term deaf, not hearing impaired. In deaf community, the term, "hearing impaired" is considered offense.
