True, high school ball is very political but the AAU circuit is filled with absolute shit coaches and its basically, playground ball so when they get to the next level, they have no idea how to run sets, an offense, terminology, and can't handle any criticism. I do think that's a lot different than tickets to one game. Maybe you should check your sources again. And I don't dislike him as a person, but lets be real.
