The loss of species is directly tied to speciesism. You can't expect people to respect species if they don't respect the individuals that make up that species.
You are a pastor? Of what religion? I know of no current religion (besides Hinduism to some extent) that completely supports these views. Please inform me. Thank you! :)
If this is the only logical way of thinking, then shouldn't we be using that to sell pantheism? The fact that I'm as much a starving African as the starving Africans.
Then maybe we can start looking after each other a bit better.
The only way I can comprehend any thing, is as objects either as a cause or effect. So the only logical way to understand anything, is as part of everything. There fore Pantheism is the only logical way of understanding anything.
@windham666 lol. If you were take this to a more complete level, you might as well throw out your computer too. I recommend instead the middle way of moderation. Use your manmade tools (and make manmade tools) for good, for the benefit of all, rather than harming.
I really like it so far. But, since humans are apart of this divine whole, where are the human's divine beauty, where is their part in nature? In this series so far, I feel like humans are kind of like the scum of the earth, and they have no nature by themselves, only as a part of the whole.
hello 629, a good question. It is pretty clear humans have done some scummy things and some wonderful things. But I think the main point is we are nothing special - either way good or bad. We have no special super-nature inside, such as immortal souls or evil demons that are outside nature. This is about appreciating the whole and accepting ourselves as part of it. It is indeed a demotion from being children of God - but that does not imply we are scum. Well that's my two cents worth. thanks!
whether it is the xtian bible or Islam, they both state we are to despise this world, or we will not enter paradise. Agreed also on the absolute need to preserve natural habitats, both in the wild and in our own cities and suburbs, now UR really making me want to move up to Alaska!
good stuff. i feel bad. i went off on some guy who said he was a panthiest and i think i confused that with polytheism. polytheisms have pantheons of gods. is there a connection?
hmm. poly sounds like bahai - they accept all 13 or 36 messaiah's, claim they are all supernatural prohpets of the creator god who stands outside creation.
the difference is between Super Natural (Pan) and Supernatural (poly).
but monotheism is dualistic - the abrahamic god is outside nature; they speak of the creator and the created. this is an essential point of difference for pan - there is just nature, to be personally and scientifically enjoyed and explored. there is no god outside the real universe. it is quite enough all by itself.

poly means many, polytheism means belief that there are many deities, as opposed to monotheism which has one deity
