  • Humorous, entertaining and informative.

    Thanks a lot Blunty.

    All the best,

    C

  • Man, your voice is so nice and friendly, better than all other serious reviewers out there. Its a pleasure to hear your reviews. So practical! :D

  • L from Death Note? You like anime?

  • Who in their right mind would make the keyboard area glossy? -.-

  • You need to be a guy who does documentarys, you have the voice

  • I played with one of these computers before video card average, processor power, RAM little below average it costs between 1100 to 1300 dollars oh... and taking off those stickers lowers the value of the computer by about 100 dollars its pricey its pretty computer I wouldn't call it powerhouse though not enough RAM

  • does this machine make anything to 3d? like can i watch any 2d movie and have it converted to 3d?

  • @whorebucks yes it does. but Vaio 3d is still a mess. Still can make it work with NFS or youtube 3d! Works well with dvd or even avi or mpge turned into 2d. (the effect won't be as a real movie shooted in 3d like avatar). . It doesn't worth the price. Never found the support I needed.

  • I have a E series (i know entry level VAIO) and i love it i can play games and do papers... games like civ 5 and DCUO

  • will the 3D up-converting work for programmes? - say 3DS Max, Adobe After Effects- it would be useful to be able to view depth in a creative 3D workflow

  • are any PC based games 3D yet?

  • @Blunty300 say Ethernet again ;-) lol

  • Hey Blunty, where did you get the Sackboy standing there on your desk?

  • @ValentineZwei Sony gave it to me when I was working with them on the LBP2 level design thing I did with them before the game launched.

  • @Blunty3000 where did you get the L figurine?

  • That is one thick laptop holy shit o_O

  • Minecraft has a 3d option. Go for it :)

  • I LOVE ATI & I HATE NVIDIA but i7 rocks

  • @themothalovaboy google alienware for the best gaming laptops and desktops BUT remember its cheaper to make one yourself

  • Comment removed

  • ok, its looks good but from 1 to 10 how good is it ??

  • or if this laptop is not the most apropriate to game , can anyone tell me a good gaming laptop ( under 2100$ ) plz.

i need some advices , so plz answer :D

  • @TheMothaLovaBoy its called alienware

  • @EPICGAME101 , its too overrated , origin is way better sir !

  • @EPICGAME101 and alienware is overrated, you pay $500 extra for the outer look, when the insides is a regular Dell ...

  • sorry to bother , but do you now if it runs games like skyrim , batman AC or BF3 in max settings or near max settings?

im a noob and i need advices xd

anyway thank you , and answer plz

  • best laptop i ever seen on youtube wow how much is this laptop i want to buy it

  • @thodoris234 I am guessing more then $1200 usa money

  • @blackwind3000 i know :( i from in greece:(

  • @blackwind3000 ya much more then a mac or alienware :O

  • thinking about getting this, but without the 3d, how are the graphics in general? better than the xbox and ps3?

  • awfully nice machine! D:

If I was looking for a laptop for gaming purposes and/or if I were rich I would considered this one.

But Im going to stick with self built rigs and Playstation.

    Cant wait for Vita. :)

  • Blunty, would you say this laptop has the best screen you have seen yet on a notebook ? I have seen it and the screen is out of this world. :)

  • forget L, is that a sackboy plushie i see?

  • i love this laptop. except i don't have the 3D one but the one with more ram and bigger hard drive. its awesome tho. recommend it definitely.

  • I do have to say, Sony does make some decent computers but if you want to get a powerful gaming laptop for less I would recommend Asus's Republic of Gamers.

  • I am really sick of this 3d business, it's like a cancer infecting all forms of media... and it doesn't work... at least it does't work for me as it requires stereoscopic vision and I have issues with depth perception along with 20% of the population but sadly it's here to stay and adds a further cost to tech which simply doesn't need it, apart from that the laptop looks really nice and great video Sir

  • Yay for L =D

  • Can it plug into a PS3 and play games really well? Well in Australia our versions get 8GB of RAM 2ND gen i7 2.3GHz boost to 3.4GHz and also 1TB of HDD. It costs $3899. Although I will buy it from Harvey Norman because they will probably have a 30% discount which costs $2789!!! I want to buy it!!!!

  • Damn it Sony, STOP COMING UP WITH SO MUCH STUFF!!!!

  • I have a question, i have a i5 processor 2,40Ghz they say it can boost up to 2,93Ghz but it only boost to 2,66 :( Do you know why?

  • powerhouse? alienware is a powerhouse

  • @russianman07 Dude, Clue, get one. "alienware" is just a brand name, nothing special, no secret hardware just a brand name... and they're made by Dell.

  • @Blunty3000 well yes you can probably build one for less but there is not better looking laptop in the world which is why its so expensive. im glad i got one. its somewhat a brandname yes but its the same with macbooks and macdesktops.

  • @Blunty3000

if i wanna play battlefield 3 (when it comes out) with amazing graphics, should i get this, or something else?

  • @alibabais1

This is not a gaming laptop, so I would not suggest it. It's more of an entertainment laptop. Yes, it *might* run BF3 in mid settings in 720p, but if you want max/ultra settings, get a dedicated gaming laptop instead (with a high-end gaming graphics card).

  • @russianman07 Alienware aren't powerhouse anymore they use cheap parts now they are with dell and by cheap I mean the parts are built to last like the components of Orgin or Falcon Northwest which I consider to be powerhouse computers.

  • @russianman07 i designed an alienware and the quote was 1900, i just ordered the f series 3d for 1379 new on amazon with comparable hardware and performance

  • No doubt that Steve Jobs is gonna come out with a 3D Macbook, call it "Revolutionary" and make it cost double the competition.

  • @newfagcancer True

  • @newfagcancer too bad Steve Jobs is dead.

  • This looks like a very nice laptop. I wouldn't mind trading up my computer for it. Though my computer is a piece of crap, and probably wouldn't be a fair trade for a gameboy. :/

  • is it possible for you to upload a video of it's gaming capability? like can it run crysis 2 or not... it would help me to decide wether to buy it or not. THX!

  • @TANakin91 Yes it can

  • oh wow i though it said 66 GB of ram.

  • Google in 3d..........:D

  • Lol@ laptop stickers. I hate them too

  • Does the 3D series come with the glasses plz tell :o!!!,

  • @Itstomflores: The Viao F comes with the glasses (a pair of Sony branded nVidia glasses to go with the geForce 540 video GPU). Some higher end laptops (usually the gamer laptops) can work with an add on pair of glasses. Check the video adapter specs before buying the specs, though. If your laptops display can handle 120Hz and has an nVidia 3D GPU (My Asus can and has an nVidia 3D ready GPU), then you can use the $149 US kit from nVidia.

  • LBP cuddly toy rules

  • It's A DESKBOOK

  • There are 3D televisions, 3D computers, 3DS, 3D cameras. When does 3D iPod touch come out, I want to have one

  • Sackboy in behind :D

  • does it have usb 3.0 and 2.0? cause that would be pretty awesome if it did

  • @Blunty3000 whats the battery like?

  • @Blunty3000 next summer im going to need a gaming laptop that does 3d, is this really the laptop you recommend?

  • @thatguysreviews it's got 2x usb 3.0 and only one usb 2.0 which is the way to go =]

  • Don't know if you can answer this, but if you had to choose between a vaio F model without the 3D and an Asus G73JW-XR1 (i7 740QM, 8GB RAM, blu-ray, NVIDIA GTX 460M) for gaming, Photoshopping and a lot of editing (with heavy programs, not movie maker ;) , which one would you pick?

  • Nice video - well done.

  • hmmm i want one lol

  • that is one powerful ass laptop, holy shite

  • Do want Sackboy......

    and desktop laptop thingy! :)

  • Thanks for the review Blunty! I have now found a successor to my asus =D

  • Nice desktop replacement laptop. What about the webcam quality is it any good?

  • i understand that it was a mistake but you said this computer only had half a gig of hardrive space... just saying

  • @Moony122092 Yes, and it was corrected with an annotation. So you can probably feel safe in the fact that I ALREADY KNOW. and there's no need to leave useless know-it-all comments.

  • I'm waiting for a 3D GUI.

    And 3D on Linux.

    THEN I'll buy one.

  • @josephrockz4 - a 3D GUI serves no purpose

    - you can already do 3D on *nix with a variety of hardware

    - and I'm reasonably confident you can already leverage that support in compiz to get windows pointlessly popping off the screen.

  • @etnlIcarus

    - 3D (as in video) on Linux isn't widely supported and probably doesn't work.

    - 3D Compiz would require jumping through hoops and no doubt it would break something badly enough that I'd have to reinstall.

    - You're kind of a douche.

  • @josephrockz4 - "probably doesn't work"? So in other words, you've done zero research. nVidia supports 3D across the board.

    - If you manage to break an install by screwing with Compiz, you probably shouldn't be using *nix.

    - You're welcome, arsehole.

  • @etnlIcarus

    - Yes, I've done zero research. I'm speaking from years of experience with Linux-kernal operating systems. nVidia has little to do with whether 3D functions properly.

    - You've obviously not been adventurous with your computers.

    - I didn't thank you for anything, you pompous, socially-inept twat.

  • @josephrockz4 - Actually, the graphics driver has everything to do with whether 3D functions properly.

    - Seriously, Compiz is not a core OS component; breaking it has no bearing on whether the OS still functions.

    - I offer you advice and you call me a douche and a twat. If I'm socially inept, what the fuck does that make you?

  • @etnlIcarus

    - You still need software-level functionality to make it work, and that's the important part.

    - You'd be surprised. Like I said, you've probably never experienced it.

    - Yes, because you came at it at a completely hostile angle.

  • @josephrockz4 - You mean like Bino, mplayer, Compiz?

    - I very much doubt anyone's experienced it.

    - Blatant post hoc rationalisation and baseless, at that. Unless 'hostile' is merely a euphemism for someone having the gall to correct you.

  • @etnlIcarus

Here, let me say this, and it's the last thing I'll say to you:

    - I guarantee those don't work properly yet.

    - Just because you haven't doesn't mean nobody has. Messing with Compiz can make an OS unusable. Not to say it can't be used in CLI, but sometimes it can't be repaired without way more effort than it's worth.

    - If you can't see why I think you were hostile, you probably offend people unintentionally way more than you'd like to believe. eg "pointlessly popping off the screen."

  • @josephrockz4 - "I guarantee those don't work properly yet." "Yes, I've done zero research." Some guarantee.

    - Compiz ia a WM, for which there are myriad drop-in replacements. It's not a core OS component. You're betraying your ignorance with the line of argumentation.

    - I really don't give a shit what you "think", at this point; I was not hostile. *Now* I am, so kindly take your rhetorical nonsense and shove it up your arse, you delicate fucking prima donna.

  • SONY SMASH!!!! (meatspace quote)

  • All the specs look good aside from the graphics card XD

  • hey blunty could ya do a review of the m18x from alienware?

  • FUCK that's a beast

  • So this laptop run's Bluray movie's?. I'm a little bit behind in laptop technology so I didn't realise that laptop's now play Bluray. That means I don't need to buy a portable Bluray player or even a Bluray player at all.

  • "It's got the usual collection of hideous stickers... which you should peel off immediately" lol. Yeah, it's pretty dumb; but so are people. "This one has 3 more stickers than that one, it must be better" not made up. If i sold laptops I'd plaster easily removed stickers EVERYWHERE with all kinds of marketing mumbo jumbo all over them.

  • @Hrel88

I saw an HP at Best Buy that advertised 'HD Internet'.

    No joke

  • @gorillasocks lol

  • Nice-looking piece. Great job on the review as always, Blunty.

  • Dude, nice L figure you got there.

  • Kind of reminds me of my Asus G73JH but somewhat smaller and with 3D. I love your L and Sackboy toys, Blunty.

  • Damn, 2 grand + with tax, that's how much my TV was. Probably would run Crysis.

  • I spot OPTIMUS PRIME

  • no negatives? where you paid/given this laptop to say nice things about it?

  • @badboykilroy No and no. I mentioned no big negatives simply because I had nothing significantly negative to say about it. Anything possibly negative (weight, size, design) are all utterly subjective and could from a different perspective be considered GOOD things.

The machine ran well, there were no stupid or annoying design features I came across... therefore generally positive presentation in review.

  • Thanks for the brilliant review, gave me some great info about this.

Gotta get some money together now.

  • but will it bend?

  • Blunty youre so funny!

8 year old took it to school! haha

  • A very different design to Sony's usual style... I don't think I exactly dislike it, but I do think that it will age quite badly...in 5 years time, it could be one of those ugly child machines.

  • i dont care about how it look i just want to play good games on it :)

  • What Windows issues drive you up the wall blunty?

  • Omg you have the same Nendoroid L that I have. and I really want to buy a MP Optimus Prime

  • @notverycreative1 There's also a sack boy from Little big planet

  • @Ninja7545 Well, you're a good citizen. So if you saw some stranger getting bashed up by someone, you wouldn't step in and help? How kind. There needs to be more people out there who will help others and defend them whether they know the person or not. It would certainly make the world a better place.

  • Jesus that is ugly. Edgeless and textured trackpad and that raised part.

  • @notverycreative1 death note he is L

  • I have the non-3d version of this computer and I can say that it is a great computer. And to answer the question if it can run Crysis the answer is yes it can, but at max or high graphics settings you will get lag. On medium you get no lag whatsoever.

  • 3D is never a gimmick when it comes to games (because its not only aesthetic but functional)

  • I should go to bed...

    Hey a new Blunty video

*eyes wide open* bed will wait :3

nice L in the chair I like how you watch at least 2 anime I know of

how much does this cost? (sorry if I missed it cause Im well sleepy)

I like your videos like this as well as reviews no matter what there about there always in good fun :p

  • The lack of fugly, tacky stickers are one of the (many) reasons I love Macs lol.

  • Can it run Crysis 2?

  • @killsmaster7 Are you somehow completely unable to check the specs I provided against the specs required to run the game on your own? STOP BEING DUMB, LAZY OR BOTH.

  • @Blunty3000

    Great episode ;D

  • @Blunty3000 I won't lie I was being lazy. Kinda hoping that maybe you would of tried it already. I'll try to be less lazy in the future.

  • @killsmaster7 Do or do not, there is no try. /YODABITCHES!

  • @Blunty3000 STOP BEING LAZY and answer the mans question, a simple, one word answer QUESTION!

  • @MiracleGrim Teach a man to fish...

  • @Blunty3000 While that is true and I appreciate it, there is another saying. Politeness goes a long way.

  • @Blunty3000 Can the the fish run Crysis?

  • @Blunty3000 nice quote blunty i love this one

  • @Blunty3000 Oh, Blunty. You must adore your viewing audience.

  • @Blunty3000 i watched your mystery box opening so funny with a little gay cape on top

  • @killsmaster7

With 6 gigs of ram a quad core processor and decent graphics card. the answer is yes.

i suggest learning more about computers. :P

  • @linkthelunn Yeah its not my strong suit, I need to learn a bit more. Thanks for the info.

  • I like it!

I personally think It looks very sexy when closed, it's different :D

If the battery life was better I would consider it, and if the price wasn't as much as a 2nd hand car :/

  • more laptop reviews if you can your hands on some

  • 3D Winge Trolls. That made me chuckle, nice review there Blunty! :) Way out of my price league, but one of the few reviewers on the web who i like to watch reviews for stuff ANYWAY! Good stuff mate

  • Hey blunty i got a question. I want a laptop thats Not too big but not too small like a netbook. I want it to beable to run mild games like minecraft and some slightly heavier games. Do you have a laptop you reccomend?

  • So, am I right to assume that the monitor on this laptop has 120Hz refresh rate?

  • mac is still the best.

  • @mastermaxerer Errrm no.

  • Its a Deskbook. :P

  • @UnusedBEAR I like that.

  • I watched this video in 720p and you currently have 720 videos on your channel :D

  • Wow i wonder if i can watch youtube in 3d cuz if i can i wouls watch snsd in 3d

  • What do you think is better, this or alienware 17x or Mac book bro 17inch?

  • @alibabais1 @alibabais1 I have a review on this laptop (two too be specific) and previous to this machine I owned the unibody macbook pro, since this question reference both I thought it would be only appropriate to throw my 2- sense in. First there both just really cool laptops, I sold my macbook pro because I thought I'd like mac more than windows, I was wrong. So with that being said, naturally I'd answer this question with this computer would be my pick, although I have not tried the 17x

  • @alibabais1 this vs macbook pro =sony vaio sony vaio vs aline ware = depends wat u want a gaming computer or a computer but this can also ply games with 3d the alien ware cnt so perhaps this would be better

  • 3D is so overrated..

  • @Ninja7545 Hey, I've already succeeded. If you prefer to have no life and ask a white page with big colourful letters on it, then you go right ahead and do that. But some people prefer to socialize with a stranger by asking him questions. Nuff said.

  • i really like watching a movie in 3d... but i think alot of people cant see it -.- i know 2 people who always says after watching perfectly good 3d film... that they didnt see any 3d effect?

  • i'd say if you got the money, eyefinity + 3d

need a hell of a gfx card too...

  • I like 3-D But I just dont think it will influance the media as much as collor and sound did.

  • @syrus638 For gaming it makes more sense, but I'm not too sure with things like movies and TV shows. Those things are more of a group thing and the glasses are fairly expensive as it is, so if you have to get loads for friends and family to watch the thing too then it's just another waste IMO. The only time I see 3D genuinely becoming the norm so to speak is when we manage to create life like hologrammes and with no need for silly expensive proprietary glasses!

  • Is that L sitting in a chair that sits on your desk?

  • Hey Blunty, is the webcam 3D as well?

  • @Zaoozas Nope, but it is HD

  • surprised by the VGA port, but who knows.. LOL

  • L!!!!!!!

  • What a beast

  • thats massive hahahahahahahahaha

  • AAAAHHH!!!! -nerdgasm- It's L!!! :D

  • i see 3D as a gmmic sens a hell of alot of ppl can't use it, and it drives up cost of a display to insane highs

  • who uses blue-ray? lol

  • I remember going to my friends house a long time ago and he had some nvidia 3d installed and it was compatible for most of his games and was actual 3d that looked beautiful.

  • OMG it's L!!!

  • L figurine :D

  • OMG, it has blades. it will slice you if it falls!

  • The main problem I have with desktop-laptops is that they lack many ports, they are a pain in the arse to open, and using multiple screens can be tricky as your keyboard is stuck in one place.

  • @thing2liv Invest in wireless a keyboard and mouse, that free's up two ports right there, lets you use it further away from you and makes it easier to position it somewhere if you're using a second display with it. Personally I don't see the point of them when most people buy it and never actually use it as a laptop, and they can get a desktop for less that doesn't take up THAT much more room, and it can generally handle heat a lot better too. I use a desktop for desktop and a laptop for mobile.

  • @TalesOfWar wireless keyboard and mice, unless you have bluetooth in built will still use up ports. also mice+keyboard use PS/2 connecters and so never overlap with other hardware.

I have to agree with the laptops for mobile. I have a decent desktop and a nice light lenovo netbook.

  • Opeing a laptop is mosly a two hands job....just like jerking off old fashion style with a porno magazine :)
