  • Great stuff man, how would I get one of those backing tracks? :D

  • Hi! I was wondering where did you get your backing track from, and is it available for download? Thank you. Great work :)

  • awesome man...i am ur fan..wat a concept..everything is a windowpane here!!!!1

  • I'm speechless, best cover of this song without a doubt! thanks!

  • Haha, nobody dares to give a thumb down xD

This is definitely one of the best YouTube cover videos ever!

I'm looking forward to see more videos like this :-)

  • @BadButNotSad Haha...thanks for your comments. Much appreciated. I was really pleased with this one. I think the quality of the backing track makes this sound great. Courtesy of guitarchaos. There will be more.

    Thanks again

    Eezer

  • these one is the best cover of opeth's windowpane i hav ever heard........... u r just awesome.......... :)

    Thanks Mr. E

  • You are the best! I'm a late bloomer (just turned 50 in June) and have only been

playing for last year and a half but I have made tremendous progress with your

help and absolutely LOVE Opeth and your amazing tutorials/performances. Keep

it up and all the best! Happy Holidays Mr.E

  • Hey man, awsome!

    thanks for this

And... a little question...I want to sing that song, and i woul like to get only guitars, what do you recommend me?

  • I don't play the guitar but I love this video;)

    Awesome cover. Keep it up

  • You are what YouTube should be about. All those entertainers, comedians, peoplke trying to get more viewers and don't give any quality in their videos..

This is without a doubt the best instrumental Opeth cover ever done and probably one of the best videos on Youtube

  • @lord2112 Haha..I haven't been on Youtube for ages and it was so great to come back to it and read your comment. Man that is very generous and I'm so glad you got to see it. I enjoyed playing this one the most out of all my Opeth covers. They opened with this song when I saw them live for the first time in Nov last year...very special moment. Amazing band.

Thanks again for your words and for watching my videos.

    Eezer

  • Hey Eezer! You rock, as usual! Sound is awesome! (is that a new electric?)

I haven't been on guitarchaos for about a year, so I din't see this until now, btw >.<

  • @JavaClick Hey, I haven't been on YT for a while and was glad to hear from you again. I haven't been on Chaos tbh either. The guitar was new at the time of this recording but I've since got a new one (used in my new "Fair Judgement" cover). Thanks again for checking out mt vids.

    Eezer

  • Great job! Hey, would it be possible for me to get a copy of this without the vocal notes being played on the guitar so I could sing vocals with it (like a collaboration)?

  • This is incredible. How do you not have more views?

  • @explodingcore Hi, thanks for your comment, I love this song but I don't know why the viewcount is low. Isn't this one among their most popular? Doesn't matter, so long as you got to appreciate it, as much as I enjoyed playing it.

    Thanks again

    Eezer

  • love it

  • that's perfect D:

    I have no words!

  • I wish there were something more like opeth at least similar i like to play their songs.

  • Hey there theclercq, thanks for watching my new video. I worked the song out using GuitarPro and Powertabs plus some by ear (same as the other covers). I have recently tabbed out Patterns (I) if you would like to give that one a go please send me your email address and I will post it to you. Thanks again.

    Eezer

    Eezer

  • I love the composition! the vocal melody on the classical is beautiful. it sounds like there's some chorus on it on the voc melody in the 2nd verse, but thats probably just the harmony track...Amazing peice of music! Opeth is amazing period.

  • Thank you for watching my videos vincenzo, I appreciate our comments very much. It was a lot of work but well worth it.

    Cheers

    Eezer

    Eezer

  • so awesome...you played this soo good. How long did it take you to finish this?

  • Hey swounds, good to hear from you. yeah this one I worked about 4 months ago but I had to put it to one side while my pc was being repaired and upgraded. It took a Saturday to record the tracks and a Sunday to edit the video. Thanks for watching and there will be more.....

    Eezer

  • your last opeth cover caused me to subscribe! i really liked this, but i think an acoustic version might be cooler.

  • Hey princessandgoblin, thank you for watching and commenting. Yes I am an acoustic person at heart too and I think an all-acoustic version would have been very cool. There will be some pure acoustic covers to come very soon as I am contemplating more songs from the Damnation album. Thanks again for your thoughts.

    Eezer

  • Thanks for letting me know about this one eezer, fantastic work as usual!

  • Good to hear from you Joosh, hope your playing is coming along. Thanks for checking out my latest.

    Eezer

  • Beautiful! Excellent playing. Liked the video editing as well.

  • Thank you for hosting my videos on your website and thanks so much for taking time to check out my latest vids. I appreciate it.

    Eezer

  • Beautiful job Eezer, I especially love the way you play the vocal harmony of the second verse. I agree that the cymbals can be a tad too prominent in parts but fortunately they don't ruin the piece. Martin Lopez had a very nice touch when playing, especially on the more delicate songs and I can imagine that it might be hard to get a drumtrack to come close to him since even if you make the track more piano it still doesn't really grasp the softness but rather the volume.

  • Hey Bio, great to hear from you man. Yeah Lopez was amazing with his touches, so subtle and at the same time so crucial. The backing track was great,I had to tinker a bit but really outstanding job by Zappacat from guitarchaos for laying it down. Only wish the other backing tracks were of this standard. Thanks for your thoughts, always welcome.

    Eezer

  • say, do you have your own prs? kinda looks like it to me. eez makes the magic happen once again. 5/5

  • oops, now i can see that its not. still pretty kickass sounding though.

  • Hey Samadhi, great to hear from you, it has been a while. Thank you for continuing to watch and give encouragement for my Opeth covers. I look forward to busting out another one soon.

    Eezer

  • Wonderful. I absolutely love this track because of it's particular beat. The solo at 5:00 was spectacular. Great job on the guitar and editing. Looking forward to more Opeth classics from you. :)

  • Yeah man, thanks for your very kind words and for watching my latest video. I'm still blow away by people's reaction, and my vids are getting closer to where I want them in terms of overall sounds and vibes. Next one should be a cracker. But I don't know what it is yet.lol...

    Eezer

  • Thank you for the video. I watch and listen and it's just astonishing your skill on the axe well speaks for itself. I would love for you to do Dirge for November but what ever you may do next doesn't matter I'll be waiting for your next masterpiece. \m/

  • Hey Archenemy. Thanks for checking my vids again man. I listened to Dirge this afternoon again and I gotta say it would be a privilege to be able to get that one happening. Such an amazing song, I wouldn't want to destroy it, but at the same time I have to give it a go. My next break is in December so we'll see. If the backing track holds up we might be on to something. Cheers again.

    Eezer

  • your incrediblee... do you play in a band or something like that?

  • You are an amazing guitarist. Do you like all of Opeths' music?

  • Thank you bBoNnElY. I do like all of their music. I listen to them most days and depending on my mood I usually find something that fits. I was drawn to the softer ones to begin with but it didn't take long to immerse myself in the ass-kicking side to their music. lol, I love it all.

    Eezer

  • \m/-

  • Once again an incredible job sir! Any plans on what you'll tackle next? Thought I saw "Harvest" in your favorites list, that wouldn't be next would it?

  • Hey, thanks BlackRoseImmortal for checking my vids again. Oh yes Harvest would be so great. I'll put it on the list and have a go at some stage. Probably closest right now will be "Coil" or possibly "To Rid the Disease" or maybe even Dirge for November as we talked about last time. I'd really like to do Ending Credits though and/or Epilogue. If I could only find a drummer good enough then I'd do "In My Time of Need" as well. LOL so many classics, so little time.

    Thanks again man

    Eezer

  • Wow..

    Amazing job as usual

Keep up the good work ;)

These covers are getting better n better with every upload.

    Peacee outt, Ryson

  • Hey there Ryson. Yeah I was very pleased with the final result. My videos are getting better all the time and that's really encouraging. I can't thank you enough for continuing to watch and comment on my work, you never know how new ones will be received but it looks like this will be a keeper.

    ;til next time

    Eezer

  • Beautifully made video.

  • Hey Jess, thanks again for watching and commenting on my new video. More will follow.

    Eezer

  • And in this video you have come much closer to that point, comparing to the other drafts you posted :) For example the tone of the guitar has improved. Still the cymbals/hi-hat from the drumkit were a little too dominant I think. Nevertheless, I enjoyed listening to it. ^^

Keep on making music and I'll keep watching your vids :)

    Peace, Dorf

  • Hey there Dorf. I appreciated your feedback very much. Yes the tone is better on the guitar this time so I'm glad that i went back and did some tinkering. The cymbals were over-powering at times but that was the downside of trying to make the snare have a real 'snap' to it. It was a bit of a trade-off in the end as I couldn't seperate the parts within the drumtrack. Having said all that I can't wait to do another one as they're getting better all the time.

Thx again Dorf, til next time

    Eezer

  • Hey Eezerian.

First of all thanks for keeping me updated :) It's always good to hear from you, especially when it comes down to music!

I must say you've done quite well on this song! I realize it's a really hard song to cover. That's because, despite the fact that there are many different instruments/riffs/rythms playing at the same time (plus it's not regular 4/4), Opeth keeps the serenity and calm in this song.

And that's the point you have to reach imo to cover this song so nicely.

  • Hey Dorf, no problem keeping you updated, I know that you were looking forward to this one from your last post. I was glad that I didn't disappoint and butcher one of your favourite songs (lol). I was very pleased with the final outcome as you can probably tell and I'm looking forward to improving even more for the next one.

    Cheers mate and thanks again

    Eezer

  • Great job! This remake was a good idea. The electric guitar part sounded a lot cleaner.
