  • i remember the first time i heard this I turned the intro up and nearly peed myself when 2:25 happened....LOL "PAY ATTENTION!!!!"

  • I'd almost forgotten how good this was. Don't ever tell anybody to skip the intro. This song is a masterpiece and must be enjoyed as a whole. Wow......just, wow.

  • i used to fall asleep to this cd (before mp3 players i might add) and remember Jim screaming at me and consequently waking up before falling back asleep to this masterpiece.

  • The version of the split w/ CFD is much better.

  • I love this song. Why the hell would you skip the intro? It's so amazing. This is some of the best music I've ever heard in my life.Period.

  • This song is my funeral song!

  • I thought they wrote more about band relationships and dreams of being successful dreamers on this record ,i love this whole record, and thats what i have always gotten from it.but thats just me,so...

  • I should kick you in the throat for saying skip over the intro! You must be nuts! Why dont they just skip the end too? Do you even want the song to exist?

  • Thank you dancerlegs. I had never heard this song before.

  • this song help me get through tough times.

    <3JEW

  • If this is emo, I'm in.

I'd gladly take the title for emo, because that's what it is - emotional rock.

Glad bands like JEW have made music :-)

  • can't skip the intro. it makes the pay off much more intense

  • why in the hell would you want to skip the beginning? it's part of what makes this song so fantastic and epic.

  • Agreed to the max

  • static prevails>>>>>>clarity

  • is this jimmy singing sorry but i cant recognize

  • Tom Linton sang a lot of the songs on Static Prevails, but I think this is Jim

  • @galbatorix22012 tom linton was the lead singer in the time this album was released jimmy took over soon after

  • Don't EVER tell anyone to skip the intro, it's such an important part of the song.

  • ok then il skip it

  • @DMitri221 YEAH, IM WITH U, REMEMBER ME TO CHRISTIE FRONT DRIVE...

  • wow just listening to this whole album u can just hear the christie front drive influence, from everything from zach's drums fills to vocals, to guitar melody's, truly a great album!

  • are you gonna make a real video for it? like with acting and stuff?

  • at 3:40 who's that singing? is it their old bassist cos it sounds nothing like tom.

  • that's eric richter from christie front drive.

strangely enough, he doesn't sing on the version on the split 7".

  • Anyone know where I can get that Split 7"? I've been wanting the second demo version for a while now...I really liked the edginess of the first, but I think some middle ground between that one and this one would be great.

  • ebay or a good record shop. could cost you a bit, though. or you could always download it.

  • I don't think wooden blue records is operational anymore, so would the record still be in shops? Ebay is probably the best place to get it, but if there is a site to download it from could you tell me? Or Email me your file of the song...That would be awesome ^_^

  • nah, it's long out of print, but you could probably find it second hand. have you not heard of soulseek?

  • right u are my friend

  • Am I the only one that doesn't think jimmy eat world are emo!?

  • Well, yeah they aren't like current emo bands, but they definitely helped invent the genre

  • TBH I suppose you are right, its just they are the ONLY emo band that I love.

    fucking high

  • @dancerlegs What current Emo bands? Empire! Empire!, Joie De Vivre?

  • @Projectrez i don't think they're emo at all, they don't look or act like they are. the only emo thing about them really is the lyrics about love and stuff. but loads of bands do that.

  • @skaterboyrob19 exactly....this is emo when emo was a music genre and not a fad. the emotive hardcore of today is nothing like it was in the 90's...sadly

  • @skaterboyrob19 This is what Emotive Hardcore was in the 1990's. It has NOTHING to do with the current Hot Topic/MTV fad.

  • @Projectrez Well.. They were.

  • Anyone know where I can find verse tabs?

  • I prefer a demo version of this i seem to have acquired years ago...but i do like this song, love the guitar.

  • real emo follks

  • I remember going to go see, at the drive in @ Tempe Bowl w/ them , well the little bit that I remember .

  • whats wrong with the intro? it sets the scene? lol

i think this with Caveman should have been one song

  • It is a really cool intro... but for people like me with short attention spans... it's just a lot easier to skip to the part with lyrics or else I loose interest T_T

  • @MrAHeap The intro is great.

  • I thought this was musical then he screams like a madman x) thought a bomb exploded or something

  • it's "intstrumental" ;) haha

  • yeah instrumental :P wouldn't be worth it if it wasn't musical hehe

  • yea, that's what we used to call "emo" back in the day. It's all about dynamics. Good stuff

  • That was back when emo was respected, bands didn't call themselves "alternative rock" unless they really did have creative songs. Ah, those were good times.

  • I lovez when they scream PAY ATTENTION! Itz my favorite part ^-^ great song
