This shows Gordon has more car control and is a cleaner racer because the 24's moves against Rusty were for the win. Could you image if Earnhardt was racing the 2 for the win he'd dumped him worse than this.
They always got into wrecks. They were like best friends off the track, but on the track, they liked each other about as much as the University of Michigan, and Ohio State University like one another!
Too Many goobers out there who never saw the racing with Dale that wasn't televised... They all used to drive that way Dale was the last of the old school...
What a bitch move letting rusty whiner to the front! Earnhardt said get the fuck out of my way bitch and I'll win this race from last! Fuck all the haters on this video and all the others Earnhardt was and still is NASCAR. So suck it you fucked up haters!
One of the 1st dash for cash 10 lap races DE started third and 1st turn he tapped pole car into outside car and both hit guardrail. DE won. Never liked him crashing Rusty Wallace down front straight. He did elevate the sport and I like Jr. Every car on track has potential to win but IMO some of his methods bordered on unsportsmanlike conduct.
well i guess that was the famous Dale Earnhardt cheap shot, he did this stuff a lot when things weren't going well for him, but i guess if you're in this business for over 20 years you have a couple of incidents with other drivers, especially considering that Dale ran up front nearly all his career.
there are plenty of drivers with more talent than dale, dale had to wreck people to beat them while others had the skill to set them up and pass them without contact, even at bristol. i would say he is like 9th all time behind TRUE legends.
@BlowoverKing that could be it, but if that was true im sure he would get pay backs, but nobody could catch him to do so lol he just raced harder then everyone, its just alot of drivers r pussies now, earnhardt was the last of true racers and im sure we will see another true racer in the future just not now
I was at this race! It was my first night race at Bristol! Insatnt classic!! I sat about 25 rows up right in front of the Champions preferred pit. (pit stall #1...Earnhardts) Dale was sent to the back I think twice,, had an oil leak (that required a few pit stops under caution). His car was beat up. I think he hit every other car on the racetrack that night, incuding Terry Labonte at the finish line......AWESOME!!
@Redneck838 i was thinking the same thing, funny how some people were so jealous of dale sr back then and hated them now they wish he was around because there are alot of empty seats at the race track now
another thing, did harry gant ever won a championship? I know he was a great driver and he was name mr. september back in 91 but honestly, fatriani your comparing oranges to apples and Gant was a gentleman "driver", Dale was a "racer." Back in the day nascar did listen to driver's feedback, Earnhardt had one of the loudest voices in nascar! He, like gant were pioneers of the sport and both deserve the respect of all nascar fans alike. We need more guys like these in the sport other then martin
listen, Gant's Leo Jackson team only had 14 full time employees including the receptionist; He could have won championships if driving for a well funded team; Just about every time he had a good car that could compete he would beat Earnhardt every time!
same race where earnhardt came back and finished 2nd, he tried to get under terry labonte in turn 4, coming to the checkers, spun terry out although he won the race.
cry some more fatriani, earnhardt carried nascar on his shoulders. he was the one and only for nascar. no one will ever be the same. nascar isnt the same anymore. its about the equipment and money now. earnhardt lived and breathed racing. how many other drivers sleep in their race car? no matter what you say earnhardt was the best there ever was and ever will be.
Richard Petty, David Pearson, Bobby Allison, Cale Yarborough, and Jeff Gordon are all better than Earnhardt could ever hope to be. They have the stats to prove it and they didn't have to wreck people to win their races. Anybody can wreck somebody, takes talent to pass 'em clean.
@rebelracing88 Petty no..his money did the winning..once the modern era (1972) happen his whole organization slowed down...now i wont argue pearson...because he may have been the greatest driver of all time..just didnt have a car to run all the races ..but he still won 105 races with less starts then petty..gordon (my favorite driver) so i wont argue that either cale=legend
wow,the fans hated him then, now they respect that he was one of,if not the greatest driver ever.I hate that it takes something so tragic to make people realize what a great man he was.#3 forever missed
Ok you can think what you want, truth is he was a great guy who drove hard in every race.Thats why he won 7 championships, something you will never have
Hey SKracing, do you have the post-race incident where Rusty bonks a water-bottle on Earnhardt's head and says he "ain't forgotten about Talladega either"?
wow wat a douche . he cant win without wreckin someone. znd he says " i was just tryin to rattle his cage" if hes so good then y does he wreck people on accident
Gotta love the people that "loved" Dale Earnhardt because he drives 100% and doesn't give an inch and will do whatever it takes to win.. Yet Kyle Busch is the exact same way, attitude wise but Kyle wants to win just like Dale did. Jr fans just don't want to admit it. That an nobody is over Richmond of last year.. *sighs*
Kyle may drive aggressively like Dale Sr. but Earnhardt got fans to like him because he didnt complain about second place by refusing interviews, complainging about his pit crew, or complaining about other drivers doing the same aggressive things to him. Dale would just wait a couple races once the media forgot and get them back :D lol
You have a great point there.. Earnhardt was also one to respect fans off the track. He was popular to due his driving style and how he was off the track..
If Kyle Busch can slowly groom into a more mellow and non stubborn race car driver, he will be one of the best and most popular drivers. Both Kyle and Dale started off the same way, and Dale ended up the most popular and the best.
Yes with the right moves its not impossible for Kyle to end up in a similar way. He definately has talent his main problems just been his additude toward the fans and such that has created his unpopularity. If he gets around that who knows. Of course those are still some huge shoes to fit in no matter who you are. :D
Uh, that's funny - look again- he was black flagged! Dale was a hell of a racer - but he never willingly went to the back when he dumped somebody! LOL
announcer shows his naivety. That "fire" is just what shoots out when the engine is being fired up. In this case it was hitting the wall and climbing up.

earnhardt was a jackass always spinning out people bitch you stupid earnhardt fans just dont wanna admit he did some bad things you just want to sugar coat shit off beacuase you want to hide from the truth dont thumbs down becuase its the truth.
Well you haven't been watching nascar very long then -.- I've seen Jeff Gordon take out plenty of people along with Jimmie Johnson, Dale Jr., Kyle Petty, Richard Petty, and many others it's not a matter of who wrecks who it's a matter if the driver is ok or not and who won the race and Earnhardt did what he had to do to win unlike the drivers now days. The only one even remotely like Earnhardt is Kyle Busch I hate him but he is definately like Sr
He didn't try to kill them ya retard. Like most of the time when he said he didn't mean to wreck someone he meant it, watch the "Pass in the grass" Dale was on the recieving end of that bump and he kept from losing it and he did that to alot of people just like in this video. It's not his fault the drivers couldn't hold onto the damn car so you can't blame him it's called racing.
"ITS CALLED RACING" typical excuse. typical earnhardt fan. when you shove somebody going 190 MPH YOUR GONNA LOOSE CONTROL. and he dont mean shit. he just says it because he has to say it for the TV cameras. how bout the time when he hookes darrell head on at richmond i 86 that could of really hurt him. and its not called racing. its called being a jackass trying to hurt people for your greed.
Lmao, ask every dirt race fan "the only real racing left" Rubbing is racing! If you can't take the heat don't damn watch it. Also if your gonna loose control at 190 mph. Why didn't Dale loose it goin around that fast at Charlotte when he got clipped by elliot? Oh and for the greed part.... Dale was not greedy by far, he did everything and anything he could for his family, friends, fans, and charities. He loved to race and was better than everyone else so live with it, nobody can compare to him.
Richard petty is better than earnhardt, but thats another subject, oh yea you said why didnt earnhardt wreck at charlotte when he got clipped? it because they were only going about 140-150 MPH around that track. they didnt have fancy suspensions like they do now they just had very un aero dynamic effecient cars and boxy cars. let me ask you this did bill elliot wreck earnhardt into the wall after he did that? no he just gave him a little scrub after the race not make him flip because he mental.
Lmfao, dude you probably weren't even around during that time you damn yankee. You think you know it all don't you? Go watch some real racing not the pussy ass racing in NASCAR today.
and wrecking people for wins is GREEDY youre delusional just admit earnhardts driving style wasnt lets say "all that good" especially in those days when drivers lost there lifes often. but dumbass wants money he wanted fame he wanted everything waltrip wanted. he wants people to kiss his ass. i heard him say once that "i could wreck you but you cant wreck me" basically meaning that he can spin your ass out but you better not do it to him. (what a cocky ass bastard) luckly he cant kill anymore.
Dale couldve cared less about the money. Him saying I can wreck you but you can't wreck me means like it sounds. They couldn't wreck him he always saved it, if you want proof go look at the 500 when he blew his tire coming out of 4 and didn't spin.
no he meant just cause he wreck you doesnt mean they could do it to him...and thats super cocky. and you dont just get on somebodys bumper for fun. people could die like i said especially in those times in the 80's 90's and such but dumb wad cant drive and mind his own business like everybody else does. he always has some "shit to prove" cause hes a freaking egomaniac.
Well nobody did die from him so just drop it. It doesn't matter what we say to each other obviously we have different views and we aren't gonna agree on anything.
you just dont want to admit that lets say everything earnhardt did on the race tack "wasnt so good to do" lets put it like that. and of course we arent going to agree. what do you wan tme to say? he was a clean driver? lmao hell no...hes no jeff burton or mark martin i have no idea what the hell you think he is but he certanly is very very far from clean.
No shit sherlock!! It's Nascar, where people race each other at high speeds very close together. I don't think it makes much difference if you're bumping each other or not...
u have no idea, wat dale was like! when ur out there to race there out there to win not to pussy foot around and i should no cause i race!!!and he wants to be like Waltrip.hahaha waltrip i bet was jelouse!!! and anyway i bet if rusty was to get into the back of dale he could have saved it i mean i've seen him do it beofre!!! so think befor u speek!
you cant defend big E, EWSC37 people like you always try to defend Big E's action's no matter how wrong it was. and this is racing its not the end of life you dont do things like that you can get somebody killed. i dont give a fuck what race it is ,Daytona 500 or whatever but a life is worth much more than some "Race"
Exactly. I think that hard-ass renegade racing was cool in the back woods of North Carolina, but there's no telling how many championships he won because he just wrecked everyone he couldn't beat.
Dale was one of the nicest people anyone could meet. He didn't turn down autographs, and he talked to anyone that wanted to talk to him unless he was busy working on the car. He donated to charity all the time, he mounted a penny a little girl gave him on his dash in his Daytona 500 winning car. Yep sounds like an asshole to me =/ oh and it's not called NICECAR either :)
Yet he still finished 6 spots higher than the 28 in points that season while driving injured from race 19-31. Not to mention he would've won the championship if the incident hadn't happened.
Irvan very well could've won the '94 cup if not for the Michigan crash.
Earnhardt is VERY lucky to have won the '90(in which Mark Martin actually did win but NASCAR took it away) and '94(where he inherited first after Irvan almost died.
Mark Martin's car didn't meet the appropriate requirements. It's nothing compared to today where they dock a guy 100 points. By the way, prior to Irvan's crash, Earnhardt was already leading in points. He was also the leader in 96' before his crash at Talladega. Not to mention, Dale had more average points in 2000 than Gordon in 2001, and more points TOTAL in 2000 than Stewart in 02'. There's just no comparison. Earnhardt was the best championship winner in NASCAR history, period.
No moron, he finished 2nd- nascar( d o t )com/races/cup/2000/data/standings_official( d o t )html . Furthermore, my point was that if he performed as well in the next two years(which I believe he would've), he'd have been at least an 8-time champion. Even though Bobby struggled, Earnhardt had new sponsorship and good momentum coming off his first title-contending season since 1996.
Actually, not forever -- #3 was over and KAPUT in Feb 2001. The "intimador" suffered the biggest intimidation of all! Afraid all your blabber about #3 "high-speed lead injection" is beyong the realm of reality - nice try dreamer!
this is part of what is missin in NASCAR today, to few drivers willing to truly do WHATEVER IT TAKES to win a damn race instead of bein pussy's and acceptin 2nd place
I remember this watching this as a kid...the best part of it all is when the cameras catch Rusty nailing Earnhardt in the head with a water bottle after the race...
This shows Gordon has more car control and is a cleaner racer because the 24's moves against Rusty were for the win. Could you image if Earnhardt was racing the 2 for the win he'd dumped him worse than this.

4Tracer 3 years ago
you dont try to kill people to win races 4Tracer. a life means much more than some stupid race.
e521soediv 3 years ago
He didn't try to kill them ya retard. Like most of the time when he said he didn't mean to wreck someone he meant it, watch the "Pass in the grass" Dale was on the recieving end of that bump and he kept from losing it and he did that to alot of people just like in this video. It's not his fault the drivers couldn't hold onto the damn car so you can't blame him it's called racing.
4Tracer 3 years ago
"ITS CALLED RACING" typical excuse. typical earnhardt fan. when you shove somebody going 190 MPH YOUR GONNA LOOSE CONTROL. and he dont mean shit. he just says it because he has to say it for the TV cameras. how bout the time when he hookes darrell head on at richmond i 86 that could of really hurt him. and its not called racing. its called being a jackass trying to hurt people for your greed.
e521soediv 3 years ago
Lmao, ask every dirt race fan "the only real racing left" Rubbing is racing! If you can't take the heat don't damn watch it. Also if your gonna loose control at 190 mph. Why didn't Dale loose it goin around that fast at Charlotte when he got clipped by elliot? Oh and for the greed part.... Dale was not greedy by far, he did everything and anything he could for his family, friends, fans, and charities. He loved to race and was better than everyone else so live with it, nobody can compare to him.
4Tracer 3 years ago
Richard petty is better than earnhardt, but thats another subject, oh yea you said why didnt earnhardt wreck at charlotte when he got clipped? it because they were only going about 140-150 MPH around that track. they didnt have fancy suspensions like they do now they just had very un aero dynamic effecient cars and boxy cars. let me ask you this did bill elliot wreck earnhardt into the wall after he did that? no he just gave him a little scrub after the race not make him flip because he mental.
e521soediv 3 years ago
Lmfao, dude you probably weren't even around during that time you damn yankee. You think you know it all don't you? Go watch some real racing not the pussy ass racing in NASCAR today.
4Tracer 3 years ago
and wrecking people for wins is GREEDY youre delusional just admit earnhardts driving style wasnt lets say "all that good" especially in those days when drivers lost there lifes often. but dumbass wants money he wanted fame he wanted everything waltrip wanted. he wants people to kiss his ass. i heard him say once that "i could wreck you but you cant wreck me" basically meaning that he can spin your ass out but you better not do it to him. (what a cocky ass bastard) luckly he cant kill anymore.
e521soediv 3 years ago
Dale couldve cared less about the money. Him saying I can wreck you but you can't wreck me means like it sounds. They couldn't wreck him he always saved it, if you want proof go look at the 500 when he blew his tire coming out of 4 and didn't spin.
4Tracer 3 years ago
no he meant just cause he wreck you doesnt mean they could do it to him...and thats super cocky. and you dont just get on somebodys bumper for fun. people could die like i said especially in those times in the 80's 90's and such but dumb wad cant drive and mind his own business like everybody else does. he always has some "shit to prove" cause hes a freaking egomaniac.
e521soediv 3 years ago
Well nobody did die from him so just drop it. It doesn't matter what we say to each other obviously we have different views and we aren't gonna agree on anything.
4Tracer 3 years ago
you just dont want to admit that lets say everything earnhardt did on the race tack "wasnt so good to do" lets put it like that. and of course we arent going to agree. what do you wan tme to say? he was a clean driver? lmao hell no...hes no jeff burton or mark martin i have no idea what the hell you think he is but he certanly is very very far from clean.
e521soediv 3 years ago
"people could die"....
No shit sherlock!! It's Nascar, where people race each other at high speeds very close together. I don't think it makes much difference if you're bumping each other or not...
TimeTransverse 3 years ago
u have no idea, wat dale was like! when ur out there to race there out there to win not to pussy foot around and i should no cause i race!!!and he wants to be like Waltrip.hahaha waltrip i bet was jelouse!!! and anyway i bet if rusty was to get into the back of dale he could have saved it i mean i've seen him do it beofre!!! so think befor u speek!
EWSC37 3 years ago
you cant defend big E, EWSC37 people like you always try to defend Big E's action's no matter how wrong it was. and this is racing its not the end of life you dont do things like that you can get somebody killed. i dont give a fuck what race it is ,Daytona 500 or whatever but a life is worth much more than some "Race"
e521soediv 3 years ago
Exactly. I think that hard-ass renegade racing was cool in the back woods of North Carolina, but there's no telling how many championships he won because he just wrecked everyone he couldn't beat.
HillChris1234 3 years ago
Dude, Dale Earnhardt was an asshole.
HillChris1234 3 years ago
Dale was one of the nicest people anyone could meet. He didn't turn down autographs, and he talked to anyone that wanted to talk to him unless he was busy working on the car. He donated to charity all the time, he mounted a penny a little girl gave him on his dash in his Daytona 500 winning car. Yep sounds like an asshole to me =/ oh and it's not called NICECAR either :)

i should come and kick your candy ass.

penalized him, still finished 2nd. earnhardt always was, forever the man.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
The 28 showed him who "the man" was at talladega in 1996. where'd he finish that race?
blitz811 4 years ago
Yet he still finished 6 spots higher than the 28 in points that season while driving injured from race 19-31. Not to mention he would've won the championship if the incident hadn't happened.

No 7 Cups is nothing to Irvans 0!
Randildo 4 years ago 3
Irvan very well could've won the '94 cup if not for the Michigan crash.
Earnhardt is VERY lucky to have won the '90(in which Mark Martin actually did win but NASCAR took it away) and '94(where he inherited first after Irvan almost died.
InvisibleTeeth 4 years ago
Mark Martin's car didn't meet the appropriate requirements. It's nothing compared to today where they dock a guy 100 points. By the way, prior to Irvan's crash, Earnhardt was already leading in points. He was also the leader in 96' before his crash at Talladega. Not to mention, Dale had more average points in 2000 than Gordon in 2001, and more points TOTAL in 2000 than Stewart in 02'. There's just no comparison. Earnhardt was the best championship winner in NASCAR history, period.
n0vaca1n3 3 years ago
Uh...Earnhardt finished 3rd in 2000 points. Bobby Labonte was the Champ.
pat02537 2 years ago
No moron, he finished 2nd- nascar( d o t )com/races/cup/2000/data/standings_official( d o t )html . Furthermore, my point was that if he performed as well in the next two years(which I believe he would've), he'd have been at least an 8-time champion. Even though Bobby struggled, Earnhardt had new sponsorship and good momentum coming off his first title-contending season since 1996.

I'll show you whos the man with some high speed lead injection. #3 forever
woahman57 3 years ago
Actually, not forever -- #3 was over and KAPUT in Feb 2001. The "intimador" suffered the biggest intimidation of all! Afraid all your blabber about #3 "high-speed lead injection" is beyong the realm of reality - nice try dreamer!

SammyFarkle10 4 years ago 2
this is part of what is missin in NASCAR today, to few drivers willing to truly do WHATEVER IT TAKES to win a damn race instead of bein pussy's and acceptin 2nd place
Rocker3829 4 years ago
It was lap 32 of a 500 lap race. There was no need to spin Rusty out at that time in the race, let alone at all.
skankuser 4 years ago
True, but at the 34th lap, thats no time to wreck someone.
PYLrulz1984 4 years ago
Thats just how Earnhardt was. Raced every lap like its the last.
Crisgo3d 4 years ago 2
I was never a Rusty fan, but that black #2 was a bad-ass looking car. I loved seeing his white gloves working the wheel as it did on that replay.

I really miss ESPN's coverage of NASCAR races. Miss Bob Jenkins and Ned Jarrett, and RIP Benny Parsons.
JBird30761 4 years ago 7
So true.
That was when coverage kicked ass!

One of the best races of all time. Perhaps my personal all-time favorite.
thebiff16 4 years ago
big e moved like 3 ppl that way...u watch the end of the race ull see the nose of the car bent in like hell...rusty was the first victim
aceofdaplace24 4 years ago
I remember this watching this as a kid...the best part of it all is when the cameras catch Rusty nailing Earnhardt in the head with a water bottle after the race...
