THE AUDIO RECEPTION IS TOO LOW, MAN. This group is too good to be short-changed by technical problems. TURN IT UP. And, by the way, thanks! I can't think of the last time I saw the group in more comptemporary times in ANY media!

You mean Black Americans; otherwise, agreed. One of the best songs ever as well as great live performance. IMO, it was/is the combined effects of drugs, high illegitmacy rates (3 out of 4 Blacks born out of wedlock) and cRap music, among other things, is responsible for the decline.
I am trying to get Eddie Cornelius into the Studio for an Interview soon. He was the one who wrote the hits of the 70's and still cranking out tunes. He is a Priest Now and following the calling. God Bless Eddie and his blessed family for all they have brought to us. We are blessed to be touched by his talent and he give all the Glory to God. Bless you Eddie.
What a great song, all their hits were good. They were the kind of song that when you heard it on the radio you always ended up singing along. I still do, on the oldies stations now some 38 years later.
hey bopdoc, i FINALLY found the song i was looking for, "gonna be sweet for you" from your 1st album! VERY, VERY hard to find, but i kept digging, and GOT IT now, on cd! found it in ny.
This is one of my favorite all-time songs. I even told my son about it, and he loves it. I think it has the same chord progression as Mariah Carey's "Dreamlover", but in a different key. That's when I remembered this song, when I heard Mariah's. So sorry about your loss. The brothers and sisters had a great sound. Peace.
Damn, been loving this for decades and now, for the first time here they are. Are they doing any touring with any similar bands from the same era. It would be a great summer tour. Hope to see 'em in LA. Come on out to Thousand Oaks sometime if you're still hanging in there.
Whats up Rose, Bert, Frank and Vinnie F-This Your Big Brother Larry "The Conga Player". After A Thousands Of Years Or So, It Is Good To See Us Live Back In The Days Gone By. Tell Everyone Frank "Larry" Said "Its To Late Too Turn Back Now.
This is such a great song!! It takes me back to the summer 1972......I was jus 7! It's such a catchy tune!! I love it!! Thanks for posting this live video!
Yea can you beleive this was a great man who raised me, since I was little and I always thought back he was my Father, but I must say he was there and took care of us 3, which this is my little brother Father..So I must say, hes still my dad only man I knew! I was 9yrs.old in this video. Im the one in the red shirt dancin with this white guy. Wow! I look the same and still can dance..lol...
Hello.Sorry for the delay.Been out of the country on tour. We've made several attempts to digitally master the live material. This was recorded in 1983 on
beta and dumped to vhs.Through the years its become worn and brittle. We will keep trying to remaster it.
is carter cornelius the bass player? and is there a way i can get that 1st album on cd? there`s a song you did "gonna be sweet for you" this song got no airplay, but if you ask me, it should`ve been a hit
i know frank is a hell of a bass player. anytime you can sing/play at the same time, you`re good. i`m a bass player myself, that`s how i know. frank must do most of tha lead vocals then!
CD: plez check it out, cause i had this cd, but a friend (so called) friend of my brother, came in my house, and stole it from me, i caught him stealing it, and shot him for it!
This is absolutely wonderful, thanks for posting this!! What a rare gem...I've watched/listened to it now probably 4 times...I've always loved this group and would've given anything to be in that crowd that day...I never realized Carter had such a great, soulful voice! Myself, I like this faster version (and the original) because it has such a disco/dance flavor to it; check out the people dancing! The guitar playing is very good too and adds a unique sound compared to the original version.
