  • The TK-75CG is in high demand and difficult to find.

  • @KenMiddletonUkulele haha ya - i see that in the forums. seems like i'm one of many that your videos alone have won us over to it. :)

  • I was somewhere else for at least 2 mins, cheers for the holiday :P

  • Loved it, Ken!

  • Thanks Danny.

  • This is wonderful Ken.

But what do you mean by a "pentatonic" improvisation. I must learn!

  • There are only 5 notes in the scale e.g. C, D, E, G and A. This idea has been highjacked by rock guitarists because it makes it easy to improvise over a particular chord.

But it is ancient. Used by Native Americans, in spirituals, by the Scots and in ancient Chinese music (amonst many others).

  • How about a little raindrops in the background? Very lovely piece!

  • Thank you.

  • Thank you very much!

    Nice,nice,very nice.

  • Thank you.

  • Where did I leave my brolly?!

    Lovely piece, Ken.

  • Thanks Tony.

  • Really nice impro !

Are you thinking of writing it down ?

By the way, nice maple on this uke ;-)

    Val

  • Thanks Val. No, I won't be writing this one down. i may do another version though.

this uke has a beautiful book-matched tiger maple back.

  • so soothing, you are for sure one of a kind ken... I hope you continue making videos for a long time

  • Thank you very much for that kind comment.

  • thanks for taking us on this beautiful trip to Asia, Ken. Amazing improv !

  • Thank you, Armelle.

  • I am always left speechless at your musicianship, Ken. You are so knowledgeable and accomplished. I love the way you can take such simple sounding ideas and create such beautiful music from it. This is no exception. Well done, my friend.

  • Thanks Paul. yes, I'm going to have another go at this one. As usual I didn't think very much before I started playing, but I'm quite happy with the result.

  • Simply Beautiful.

  • Thank you.

  • My girlfriend was in the room while I was listening to this. She said "What is that gorgeous piece of music?". I can only agree Ken, simply beautiful.

  • Thanks Nick. Nice comment.

  • Another brilliant piece of music! I get a sense of peace listening....

  • Wow! Thanks.

  • I may try another, I think.

  • fantastic ken!

  • Thanks.

  • Fav'd. Really loved this one Ken. Kudos for having the creativity to do something with pentatonics that wasn't rockish or bluesy.

  • Thanks John. I always appreciate your comments.

  • As a south east asian(albeit a hopelessly westernised one) I can say that this works for me! Very monsoonish!

  • Hi James. Thanks for that.

  • Nice and peaceful ... wonderful ukulele

  • Thanks so much.

  • That's really a lovely piece Ken!

I can almost smell the panda bears, or maybe that's just me.

  • I smell them too, HH.

  • Great playing Ken - and that cutaway looks and sounds awesome.

  • This is what I tend to use at the festivals, R.

  • Beautiful, very calming, it really does sound like rain falling! When are you going to put all these on a CD so I can listen to them through my decent speakers watching the fire and thinking philosophical things lol :-) x

  • I think the quality will be the same if you just download them off YT. No plans for a CD, I'm afraid, Ruth.

  • thanks Ken that makes me feel better I am sick right now .

  • Get well soon :-) x

  • Fight it, Stephen. Rebuke the sickness in Jesus' name.

  • The nicest sun shower!

  • Thank you.

  • very peaceful and nice Ken! about a million times better than Chocolate Rain.

  • Thanks Russ. I appreciate it.

  • Sounds medieval to me, -walkin' 'round York. ( Bought a cassette tape there, all of those 11th cent. instruments.) NICE!

  • That fine with me. Thanks.

  • Beautiful, and the lighting really looks good too.

  • Thanks. It's actually just a table lamp but i like the stark effect it produces.

  • Yes and no. Easy to make a tune. The problem is chords. Only 2 chords in any key can strictly be used e.g. C and Am in the key of C.

Personally I prefer to improvise in a major or minor key.

    Thanks Don.

  • beautiful ken! great tone as always!

  • Thank you, Jeff.

  • Beautiful Ken! Your improvisations are always awesome!

  • Hi Michelle. Thanks.

  • Thanks. This is the uke I use at most of the European festivals.

  • Beautiful! So relaxing too.

  • Thank you, Deach.
