Both sports are similar in some ways. They require exquisite balance, timing, strength, flexibility...and artistic flair. In a way it's more like art than sport. They are both sports requiring perfection. I'm a bit more partial to piano playing. At least it's easier to be mediocre. LOL

Its cool but i think there was to much going on on-stage. not a good contrast and there wasnt really a point of combining the gymnasts on ice with the figure skaters.

haha and ive also had gymnastics competitions that they put mats on an ice rink to use the arena, so ive already done gymnastics on ice with the mats like that! hahaha
This was really cool! You can't compare the two at all but I am a figure skater so I think figure skating is better and more beautiful! But I love to watch gymnastics at the same time and did it before I started skating!
@myicemyworld1023 Probably skaters on the mat, because they already have the strength and flexibility required. Gymnasts would have to build an entire new skill to figure skate, even at a low level.
skates on the mats because all skaters need to be flexible so they do gymnastics and we have good balance and strength. also, we all walk on land and mats so its not like the mats are slippery loll. (:
shows/exhibitions are usually done with less difficult jumps because if they went out there and threw a triple and fell, it would offset the show, and 99% of the people in the audience dont even know the difference between a double and a triple sal.
they did have very nice spins though. the death drop was great.
I can't believe how little of Nastia there was in this show. She appears again sharing a beam routine with another gymnast for about 10 seconds, and that's about it. There is also a high bar and rings number from some of the leading male gymnasts. I will post them if people want to see them.
You apparently are extremely unfamiliar with classical ballet then. She's ballet dancing not gymnastic "jazz fingers" dancing. If I didn't know she was a gymnast I would have sworn she was a ballerina.

yeah, i am a figure skater.
i am 16 and i started when i was just 3. in order to go into compotitions, you cannot fall. the ONLY TRICK i need help on is a quadrouple Lutz
