  • Oh man. I remember playing the bass drum on this song. The director always had to get me to settle down haha.

  • im playin this in my middle school 2nd band we sound great but we are only playing it at 156 not 168(bpm)

  • @xMortalKombatKillerx Full tempo is 186...

  • @ghettoshen thats what i meant, but i miss-typed man that was a long time ago, im in high school now!

  • We are playing this song for UIL this year in band! I absolutely love this song!!!

  • The brass in this piece is loud, and more sudden, and out played, NOT what this director is directing, low brass is horid also. I love michal, and his music, i have talked to him for a good amount of time about this piece.

  • @JakeSwallowTV This video is the demo recording of the song on the composer's website. He worked with the Poteet band director as well.

  • @spikgame I worked with Michal in person also, maby the problem is the cameras quality.

  • Is this like a region band or just a high school?

  • Professionally played, Awesome!!!

I'm (boy)playing the piccolo in this piece, and it is heck at reaching the high high high high B on that note where the flutes flutter tough!!!!!

  • Man that gliss is so awesome. In fact that whole section from 1:34-1:42 was just awesome. but this whole song is awesome

  • When we play this at State (middle school band) Michael Markowski himself will be directing us!

  • We played this for our All-Region band and it was awful due to our senile director who was unable to direct or get anything done in rehearsals.

  • Really wish he would've conducted in 10/8. Oh well.

  • My middle school plays this for state competition, i play the tambourine in it. this song is so intense

  • @Saiyankid109 i know right. we're so beast. (oh hai brian)

  • @3ejays oh hai. gimme ur sticks

  • The sound is very low on this video, but the balance the band exhibited is unmistakably fantastic. Great job on the 'duples at ~3:30, trumpet section.

  • I like the emphasis and presentation of melody! Good luck!

  • We played this piece for the PMEA All-State Concert Band last year. Pretty cool.

  • 1:10 is my favorite!

  • Absolutely perfect balance! Loved the performance!

I think the recording is a bit muffled. There are plenty of moments I'm anticipating a fortissimo but I get a metzo forte, you know?

  • Lol. My teacher knows Michael Markowski very well. He is dedicating a song called, "Lightworks" just for our band. Once it's published, it would say (on the top) "for Dawn Parker and Smith Jr. High band. Yes, it was a challenge at first, but we had a lot of time the the peice so we were prepaired =].

sadly, I fell bad. most all state kids are asses when it comes to seeing other bands. They always try to find something wrong. I don't.

  • The articulation falters at times and dynamic contrast isnt that great. Other that it was really good.
