I have a 2010 Epiphone G-400 Standard 62 sg and (2) 2011 Epiphone limited edition 50th Anniversary 1961 Reissue sg's. I would never choose a Gibson over todays Epiphone. Today Epiphone's are top professional quality. Epi's only down fall way under priced.

YO tengo una epi Appetite for destruction y es increíble. Pero la cosa viene de más lejos, mi guitarra de siempre ha sido una Epi Sheraton que tiene más de 20 añitos y sigue sonando maravillosa. PUede que otros tengan otro tipo de experiencia al respecto, pero yo he tocado mis epiphone junto a tipos con Gibson y no podrías decir que una es mejor que otra, especialmente la Appetite.

also the slash,s model has a longer neck tenon sits right up to the neck pup gives a better sustain. and also if i am right. slash prefers his les paul heavey, so the wiring routs and pup routs are to a minimum, less wood removed. not sure if they did this to the epiphone model, but gibsons have less routing, so it should be the same.

@THEBIGONECARLOS alright listen here. the gibson les paul studio(wine red, fireburst etc....not faded worn shit colour) beats epiphone les paul zakk wylde and the epiphone slash signature. keep that in mind tho, that's my opinion. but if you want to play metal then epiphone les paul zakk wylde signature is the right guitar for you...if you want to play stuff like guns n roses then the epiphone slash signatrure is the right guitar for you. BUT gibson les paul studio can play every style of music.

@THEBIGONECARLOS gibson les paul studio whit seymour duncan alicno 2 pros will sound better than a epiphone. i had a zakk wylde bullseye whit active 81+85 pickupset and it sounded never as good as the stock gibson les paul studio that i got for 600$ plus the zakk wylde got out of tune all the time. and i paid 1300$ for the ephiphone and pickups. the best is to buy an second han gibson les paul if you want the real gibson sound.
