That wasn't filler, it was right in the main plot. Olibu lost to Pikkon. It is also suggested that Pikkon wasn't nearly using his full power when fighting Olibu.

Y'know, they should have had super-humans. I mean, Olibu was a super-human (if that glowing golden aura from where they introduced him was any clue) so the super-human is even canon. The Z-Fighters could have been SO much better if they even tried making everyone equal... Yamcha and Tien would have been so kick-ass as super humans!
In Yamcha's defense he easily beat Olibu's ass. Even Pikkon struggled with Olibu. That should be a testament to his power and proof he's probably more powerful than Frieza by the series' end. He's a lot more powerful than most of the Super Saiyan fanclub realizes or is willing to admit.
Sure he and the other Human Z-Fighters can't stack up against Super Saiyan 7s and Ultra Ultimate Super Mystic Gohan but they're gods compared to other human fighters.

In Yamcha's defense by the end of DBZ he's actually more powerful than Frieza. That's fucking amazing for a human. Krillin, Yamcha and Tien (maybe even Chaotzu) are all more powerful than Frieza by the end of the series. So technically Yamcha is one of the most powerful humans to have ever lived and is among the lower tier of the most powerful beings in the universe.

He kicks the androids' asses very easily and then fuses with Future Gohan...that's how this new Gohan would look like.

In Yamcha's defense he easily beat Olibu's ass. Even Pikkon struggled with Olibu. That should be a testament to his power and proof he's probably more powerful than Frieza by the series' end. He's a lot more powerful than most of the Super Saiyan fanclub realizes or is willing to admit.
Sure he and the other Human Z-Fighters can't stack up against Super Saiyan 7s and Ultra Ultimate Super Mystic Gohan but they're gods compared to other human fighters.

In Yamcha's defense by the end of DBZ he's actually more powerful than Frieza. That's fucking amazing for a human. Krillin, Yamcha and Tien (maybe even Chaotzu) are all more powerful than Frieza by the end of the series. So technically Yamcha is one of the most powerful humans to have ever lived and is among the lower tier of the most powerful beings in the universe.

yeah, the only one of the original Z senshi who never got any REAL back story. like, I always wondered, how did he and puar meet? also, he is clearly the smartest Z senshi, as he actually makes MONEY with his powers and leads a relatively normal life, as he became the "god of baseball" in the anime and was freaking loaded by the time cell came around. the only reason given for his terrible story in DBZ is simply that he had bad luck.

tiens an alien. chiaotzu's a chinese vampire, and an emporer of the monster realm who gave up the throne. yajirobe was a sumo who learned swordsmanship as a cooking skill. he was hunting. as for yamcha, he likes wolves, cats, and baseball, he doesn't like bears, boredom, or vegeta.

wrong yamcha trained under roshi too. and just because kuririn die train under roshi or tien have tree eyes doesnt make them unhuman. they just noticed "hey wouldnt be bad to have a sensei" and yamcha realized it too after getting pwned from goku AND tien. even after the training in gods temple when the sayans came kuririn was still stronger. yamcha got pwned by a plantman^^ he never was that big of a deal though ;)

Krillin actually hasn't beat Yamcha. The only time Krillin was stronger than Yamcha was after the 23rd MA tournament. Krillin PL 206 Yamcha PL 177 but even then, Krillin wont beat Yamcha because they dont believe in PL when skill was more important.

If you play Dragon Ball Kai: Attack of the sayians for DS, you will notice that them are differents attacks.
One is Wolf Hurricane and theres another one called Wolf Fang Fist.

That Super Sayan Yamcha looks like somekind of fusion between Adult Gohan and Future Gohan. Imagine it...Gohan goes for a ride in the time machine and sees Future Trunks the first time he goes to the past,then he borrows Trunks's time machine and goes to that Alternative Future,to the exact moment when Future Gohan was killed. He kicks the androids' asses very easily and then fuses with Future Gohan...that's how this new Gohan would look like.

Tien and Krilin became soon much stronger than him,he's the third strongest human in the world,which is not bad at all. The only problem is that Sayans and mix-raced sayan-human characters are way stronger than earthlings. Actually he's the fourth strongest,becasue Uub is an earthling after all,Majin Buu's reincarnation,but 100% earthling anyway.

Yamcha was considered one of the strongest living humans when he was introduced. By the time of the tournaments, his main purpose was to show just how strong everyone else was by comparison; Yamcha is the DUFF of Dragonball.
