Well, if you visit so much you'd know that it's never the ShetlandS but just Shetland!!. I also hate the term "The Northern Isles" because it's a scottification by BBC Scotland. How two seperate and different island groups(Orkney/Shetland) can be refered to as one entity is beyond me but BBC Scotland is determined to scottify us so that's what they do..:(.
The reality is that Shetland is a bleak, overated hole. Everything is cold and grey 90% of the time. And I should know because I live here, but what can I do, it's just where I was born and brought up!.
But you can't say anything bad about Shetland or you get shot...

Overrated? Rated? Lol.
I love(and frequently visit) the Shetlands(all the Northern Isles, actually), but they're generally overlooked by most.
