hold both fo teh ipod buttons (the home button, and the lock screen button thingy at the top) and once the apple thing comes up hold down your home screen, that may or may not work

Yes it does, Because you have to RESTORE it. When restoring it, it say it will be placed back to factory settings. It says so on Itunes.

I dont think this is worth it. The new ziphone puts installer, open ssh, and bsd subsystem on the ipod and it takes 1 minute max. I thought by custom firmware you put any ainto it. The only downer is that ziphone might not have 2.0 support.
