Remember that in Korean zoos, at least this zoo in particular, lions and tigers share the same artificial habitat, as long as the lion or tiger is not brought in from the wild. The commentary (in Korean) at the end of the segment says that the lion was fine, just stood no chance against a pack of tigers.

Remember that in Korean zoos, at least this zoo in particular, lions and tigers share the same artificial habitat, as long as the lion or tiger is not brought in from the wild. The commentary (in Korean) at the end of the segment says that the lion was fine, just stood no chance against a pack of tigers.

Wow, some of you here are quick to judge. I'm Korean and these shows are on all the time. The lions and tigers do not kill one another. This brawl was only to show the strength of tigers when they group together. In the first confrontation, the joke is that the tiger is pissed because he's oing up against 2-3 lions but in 17 vs 17 fight, the tigers were much more coordinated, especially in going after the male lion from before.

Ya my hair stops razor sharp claws and teeth all the time...a mane isnt some sort of steel mesh its hair. if anything the mane is a weakness as it block your vision and provides a greater blind spot. On the other hand the tiger is know to be faster far more stealthy and im not sure if you know this the male lions rarely kill. They will only fight other felines and that is specifically for territory, as a result they tend to be poor hunters. Also tigers have been know to kill lions.

When young Lions are almost fully grown they are forced out of their birth prides and have to HUNT and FIGHT for themselves for years until they can take a pride of their own or form an allience with another nomad male. When a pride is bringing down a large animal Lions do alot more then the lionesses. Dont say Lions have no experience hunting or fighting.
