People like to blame the crappy television product on the PG rating...it has nothing to do with the rating, people...it's the lack of talent in the ring and in the production of the show...the camera people, the wrestlers, the suits in the office are all different, younger, and/or inexperienced...PG rating is only to get the new generation of fans, obviously. In a couple years, you'll proabably get another Attitude-esque Era...The Attitude Era fans are no longer the biggest paying part of WWE.
Paul E is perhaps the greatest wrestling mind of all time not to mention the best to his talent day in and day out and if he owned WWE it would to this day be like the attitude era where as now its a shit promotion.

if Shane starts his own MMA company and it takes off Vince is gonna kick himself because Paul Heyman actually suggested the idea to vince of starting a real fighting MMA division in the new ECW wich would include true fighters including RVD, Kurt Angle, Bobby Lashly and Cm Punk. but vince said that he is in the sports entertainment business and not the athletic commissioned sports.
Vince also knew that if he did the switch, the athletes would be contracted instead of just being independent contractors. And that alone was reason enough for him to say no. Especially with all the roids and drugs that are apart of the industry, the athletic commission would've had a field day with Vince. I think he's happy with the position he is in just abusing the wrestlers.
i wish i could see more of this interviewer because he is very good and a quick thinker and he seems to know his guests really well before he does a show.
They bother to bring DX back and what the fuck are they doing now? Advertising? Awhile ago, Kofi destroyed Randy Orton's nascar... that's the kind of shit that DX should be doing to Legacy. It's almost a disaster to watch. My younger brother just got into watching Raw and Smackdown and I'm like shaking my head every week when I look at what they're doing.
I remember in the Monday Night Wars DVD Eddie Guerrero said(about WCW during it's decline) that "You didn't know what month it was on our show." because it was the same crap day in and day out.
WWE feels a lot like that and has been that way for awhile. Evolution lasted way too long without change, Legacy is way overdue for a shake-up of some sort(the younger guys are sporadically showing signs of rebellion), Chris Jericho has the same script every night, it's just very monotonous.
Vince won't take the blame. He basically forced Heyman to leave because Vince didn't want to be blamed for the shitfest known as December To Dismember.

better yet, why not play to each guy's strength, let heyman handle the angles, russo can handle all the promo (god knows alex shelly needs all the help of god) and let cornette work with the younger guys on how to do a match and tell a story, that way you help make sure that each guy doesnt step on the other's toe
That still wouldn't send WWE packin', because TNA never will, but maybe, and this is a big maybe, TNA will start being worth watching, but I doubt it!
I figure Heyman would be doing that, what withi his creative mind. Hell after his departure, WWE started getting writing talent from former employees of nickolodean and freddy prinze. Says a lot about how they value quality over quantity.
What people need to do is leave nostalgia out the door. Honestly I think both WWE and TNA are going to go head to head, its not really happening. Economy is tough and neither has a real solution. Indies have proven to be very versatile with ROH with its athletic work rate, Chikara and PWG with characters and comedy, DGUSA with their own brand of action and entertainment and even Japanese feds with Hustle and DDT with their definition of sports entertainment. Its good and its accessible.
TNA does everything ass backwards and they'll never be competition for WWE if they keep doing the same shit they're doing. I don't need to hear them bash the WWE in every promo they cut every week on their show. You never see WWE bash TNA because they aren't stupid. TNA doesn't even push their own talent they hire WWE rejects past their prime and give em the title.
WWE doesn't need to diss TNA because what would they get out of it? TNA hasn't gotten gotten anything but cheap pop from WWE bashing. But it isn't like one is a more complete product over another. My point is WWE isn't the best in wrestling anymore. TNA more times than ever has dropped the ball. There is enjoyable wrestling everywhere, more than you know and all it takes is to check out stuff away from the TV.
I myself think NJPW has the best matches, WWE sets the standard for wrestling because they're the most popular. TNA is a little kid shit minor league system who doesn't get that you need to push your established stars. AJ Styles should be the face of that company, instead they give the title to guys like Mic Foley who's fucking retired. They only got 7,000 buys for their last PPV that's pathetic. Plus they rip off WWE all the time, Abyss is a Kane/Mankind ripoff. Black Reign was, etc
I heard TNA Sacrifice drew 7000 buys, don't know if its true but if it is, ouch. TNA ratings have been stagnant for about 2-3 years. And if the went head to head with WWE they would probably drop.
It would be good for wrestling if TNA could emerge as a serious threat to WWE because it would make Vince step it up a notch, but if you think TNA is any position to challenge WWE right now you are dreaming. Thing is, TNA has the talent, but they just don't have any creative direction.
I dont blame him.... The new ECW's best work EVER was the EXTREME Elimination Chamber. Besides that ECW is not even considered a full on brand to me, I see it more like Heat or Velocity. ECW's revival was Vince's silent final blow to the original ECW. The day Tommy Dreamer leaves, I stop watching ECW. Afterall he truely is the heart of OECW (ORIGINAL EXTREME Championship Wrestling)

if Shane starts his own MMA company and it takes off Vince is gonna kick himself because Paul Heyman actually suggested the idea to vince of starting a real fighting MMA division in the new ECW wich would include true fighters including RVD, Kurt Angle, Bobby Lashly and Cm Punk. but vince said that he is in the sports entertainment business and not the athletic commissioned sports.

Vince also knew that if he did the switch, the athletes would be contracted instead of just being independent contractors. And that alone was reason enough for him to say no. Especially with all the roids and drugs that are apart of the industry, the athletic commission would've had a field day with Vince. I think he's happy with the position he is in just abusing the wrestlers.

WWE feels a lot like that and has been that way for awhile. Evolution lasted way too long without change, Legacy is way overdue for a shake-up of some sort(the younger guys are sporadically showing signs of rebellion), Chris Jericho has the same script every night, it's just very monotonous.

What people need to do is leave nostalgia out the door. Honestly I think both WWE and TNA are going to go head to head, its not really happening. Economy is tough and neither has a real solution. Indies have proven to be very versatile with ROH with its athletic work rate, Chikara and PWG with characters and comedy, DGUSA with their own brand of action and entertainment and even Japanese feds with Hustle and DDT with their definition of sports entertainment. Its good and its accessible.

WWE doesn't need to diss TNA because what would they get out of it? TNA hasn't gotten gotten anything but cheap pop from WWE bashing. But it isn't like one is a more complete product over another. My point is WWE isn't the best in wrestling anymore. TNA more times than ever has dropped the ball. There is enjoyable wrestling everywhere, more than you know and all it takes is to check out stuff away from the TV.

I myself think NJPW has the best matches, WWE sets the standard for wrestling because they're the most popular. TNA is a little kid shit minor league system who doesn't get that you need to push your established stars. AJ Styles should be the face of that company, instead they give the title to guys like Mic Foley who's fucking retired. They only got 7,000 buys for their last PPV that's pathetic. I heard TNA Sacrifice drew 7000 buys, don't know if its true but if it is, ouch. TNA ratings have been stagnant for about 2-3 years. And if the went head to head with WWE they would probably drop.
It would be good for wrestling if TNA could emerge as a serious threat to WWE because it would make Vince step it up a notch, but if you think TNA is any position to challenge WWE right now you are dreaming. Thing is, TNA has the talent, but they just don't have any creative direction.

I dont blame him.... The new ECW's best work EVER was the EXTREME Elimination Chamber. Besides that ECW is not even considered a full on brand to me, I see it more like Heat or Velocity. ECW's revival was Vince's silent final blow to the original ECW. The day Tommy Dreamer leaves, I stop watching ECW. Afterall he truely is the heart of OECW (ORIGINAL EXTREME Championship Wrestling)
