@R3dTigerM40A3 I doubt either style would have any advantage, when it comes down to it karate and taekwando are packing the same skill sets, by that I mean almost identical techniques-kicks, punches, strikes and throws. Between skilled students it would come down to commitment, who is more inclined to hurt their opponent and in that area a kyokushin student has the edge, pain is their business. It's what they do.

Most tkd fighters are ignorant of their skill level until they've been in a fight outside of tkd regulations. You can't blame them. But once they practice with actual "fights" in mind, they became really good fighters.

To all those who say "TKD sucks" : I practice wing chun, and my teacher once had a tkd master. That tkd master didnt teach him tkd like u see here, he taught him traditional tkd, as a martial art, not a sport. My wing chun teacher had great respect for tkd masters. Coming from a practitioner of a dominating martial art in China (dominating in popularity), it means a lot. Consider, as many of said, the the quality of the fighter, and not what he practices, but *how* he practices it.

@junyboy5 the problem is that taekwondo teaches many hand strikes in the traditional training; they don't focus on it in Olympic training, because they aren't allowed to punch to the face in Olympic rules, and punching to the body is usually a waste of time when you are wearing a chest protector.

If this is a real fight, the TKD dude would have ended up in hospital. Look what he did in the first few seconds? Executing back-thrust kick after back thrust kick and having his back completely facing the kyokushin guy. Surrendering ya back is the greatest taboo in martial arts sparring and more importantly, real fight.

well I must say I train WTF and spar only with kickboxing guys, that are more agressive and violent than he Karate dude.

At first, i just went bakwards like our WTF friend here, so I actually started to practice counter kicking while moving sideways. So there, problem solved.

Now I just keep them at bay while kicking and moving in a circular motion at the same time. No more ring outs.

ISeriously TKD packs some punch and heavy firepower with its great kicks, but TKD guys seem to be brainles

I also don't see this as being a good example of TKD. I'm not a huge TKD fan, but I have seen TKD guys do well in kick boxing, and KI. This guy sucked and he lost because he was just not strong and/or good enough. Nothing to take away from Kyokunshin guy. Kkarate guys do very well in full contact events.

Esto no es un desafió, suele ser un open abierto a todos los estilos organizado por kyokushin por lo tanto reglas kyokushin, el no golpear el rostro es para los 2, muchas mas tecnicas de puño a la cara tiene kyokushin que el tkd y los de kyokushin si hemos participado muchas veces en veladas de muay thai,kickboxing con sus reglas, simplemente es cuestión de quien las organiza.
