i have had a fernandes for over 20 years now - stripped the paint off it and it came to life. changed the neck and mid pick ups (one being the Fender Gold Lace Sensor) sounds brilliant and as close as I can afford to get to that old strat sound. new strats just don't do it for me.

@monstajosh I have a 2005 and 2009 American Standard Strat. The 2009 American Standard sounds AMAZING!! Fender made a few changes in 2008, and the Strat came to life again. I suggest you try one.

everything is cool but the high strings sound thin....maybe its adjusted that way but a Matchless will give a strat huge high notes...

The amp kicks ass but honestly, the guitar ruins the sound. Because the amp has high fidelity of the guitar sound.
