Last night @ 8:30, the wife and I shut off the lights and participated for a cause that we believe in. It was the first time, we'd ever done something like this. And we were not alone. Similar minded people in 80 different countries did the same.

This morning I checked Yahoo, MSN, and Google and only one of them made any mention of this global event at all!

People from all over the planet acted together and it wasn't worthy of the front page?!

...I'm not an expert but hasn't the earth always periodically gone through drastic climate changes even before humans inhabited it.... (ie. Ice ages, periods of extreme heat)

I think it should be one specific hour (which means different times depending on GMT) for each side of the world. For instance, a time that for one hour, MILLIONS from DIFFERENT countries will have their lights off AT THE SAME TIME. But if you do it at 8:30 PM your local time we won't be able to see the true impact because only certain cities within the same region will be off i.e lights off in Miami, but on in San Francisco

I think the concept of basing it in our local time so that it will be during the evening that we will be doing it... and its like a domino effect... just an hour interval in every region of the timezone... its like we are doing a whole 24 hours of lights off all over the world.. the one hour darkness is traveling from one city, to another, then to the nearby country and so on..
