I like rap but not commercial gay shit. More of old-school gangster rap be it black or latino, underground rap with electronic metal or rock beats, political rap, like immortal technique, eminem, ill bill, jedi mind tricks, conejo.
Hip hop "music" or rap or whatever the fuck its called sucks, and most of the time people who listen to it are loweducated idiots who dont know any better. I particularly find it tragic when guys that are over their 30s listen to this kind of shit...
rap today is just embarrassing, and should be considered a national outrage, it is meaningless, misogynistic, and just gives the black community a bad rep anyway...
@garychldress74 I agree the black community was already screwed before rap hit it big mainstream but it pisses me off how rappers cant use their star power to uplift African-Americans
nigger is racial, but nigga is ok... retards where do you think nigga came from? the word nigger, it means the same thing... retarded black ppl just still call themselves this...
@cleemeyer1 no, people know where it comes from, black people redefined the word for themselves. Words all throughout history have been redefined with different meanings and attributed to different groups
Rap songs today are filled with insulting and awful words, especially the word "bitch" it completely degrades women and whats worse is that in most of the rap videos I see, women are being treated like objects. I would actually like rap if more artists are delivering a good message, especially to the younger generation.
read this(cuz it really wrks). u will gt kissd on the nearest frieday by the love of ur life. 2mara wll b the bst day of ur life hwever if you dnt post ths comment 2 at least 3 vids u will die withn 2 days nw uv startd readn this dnt stp this is so scary snd ths ovr 2 5 vids in 143 min
hip hop its should be positive when half of the rappers and RnB singers came from the slums of america or parts of the world
see people who takes rap and hip hop seriously people that imitate what they hear and see are people who is uneducated by their parents or the school they go to or they just illiterate
they did say 60% of highschool graduate in america are illiterate
The Elite Government put Crack in the ghettos of the Bay Area in order to disband the Black Panther movement and all they wanted was Equality and to speak about social injustice. When these future leaders and revolutionaries were being strung on crack, the drug dealers and the pushers and the pimps took over the game. And that's what the youth looked up to and rapped about. They are only rapping about the reality they live in. Because when you spit the TRUTH you become a political prisoner!
I understand partially what you're saying, but ultimately it takes two to tango... if you know it's wrong, it's still wrong right? I mean, if your dad beats your mom and you see your mother's pain, does that mean you have free license to beat your girlfriend? Like Whitney said, "Crack is Cheap, Crack is Whack"...
Plus the flaw in your argument is mass conspiracy. Crystal Meth is on the uprise all over American suburbs... does this mean Elite Government now wants to kill off the MidWest? Look, it's not as simple as evil white people... that's the easy way out my friend.
he's right.. crack was introduced to the ghetto's to keep the lower class down, by the government. and you're right, just because meth is intro'd into the suburbs doesn't mean its the government.
The Black Panthers were not about social equality. The Black Panthers were about black pride and over-coming. dont' believe me? go check out a black panther poster, or watch a documentry, or read a book. They were just as hypocritical as the white oppressionists. but I digress. the "TRUTH" is. it's not about white or black, not anymore. it's about rich and poor. hell, it's ALWAYS been. there's just 'easier' ways to diversify it.
comin from the East coast and livin in the city and also being filipino...i live through hiphop. not rap. HIP HOP. theres abig diference between that. hiphop is not about the n word and express drugs killin etc. thats RAP. theres lot of positive hiphop influences such as common, nas, lupe, talib, mfdoom etc. STOP EXPLORING THAT BAY AREA BULLSHIT AND EXPLORE!
Have any of these people even heard of a hip hop/rap group called "The Roots". Come on their songs are ten times better then what hear on the radio or watch on T.V.
I agree with replaythat567. Alot of pple these days blame the white folks for everything. The Younger "white" generation are getting blamed from issues like slavery, things said by other white person(s), etc.
how does that not make sense? i mean... even after stooping to the level of those who mean to ignorantly badmouth others for their beliefs and upbringings, I can still understand the sarcasm and utter lack of regard for political correctness that I meant to convey.
so just take a step back and examine the situation before you start defending the likes of manny clouds who thinks that enterprising young men pursuing their dreams are a bad influence on the up and coming generation.
'enterprising young men pursuing their dreams' i dont mind and pretty sure mannycloud doesnt mind. but he is very right rnb and soul music has lost the dream.
... it still sets a bad example for the younger generation that are not stupid but more nieve and may beleive it's the only way to get on tv.... -manny clouds
that's what he said about the video we are commenting on. the group is full of fake thugs because they rap, and apparently, because they are on tv... they are setting a bad example for the younger generation.
and you'll need to explain yourself about r and b and soul losing "the dream" because that just doesn't make any sense.
well what manny was conveying in this debate 10 months ago and I said about it losing the dream, is the same thing. hip hop was suppose to be feel good music. not an excuse to brag about guns and gang bashings. Not in one of his comment from ten month ago did he mention the above band. sevral time he did mention rappers that -literally advertise- them selves as hard core thugs. thus setting a bad example.
let's stop skating around the issue. Do you think the above group is setting a bad example or not?
well then how about the ones that don't care start standing up and telling the rest of you guys to shut to fuck up your making us look bad. and while your at it get these stupid gangsta rappers off my tv i wanna see john williamson god damn it lol- manny clouds
if this wasn't directed toward the group above, it certainly seems like it was.
ok last i checked the subject was hip hops bad rap is it not? now taking into account what i just said about hip hop why not explain to me what the people in frames 1.08 to 1.15 doing there? cause as i said they are from a different form of music and 50 cent's big selling point is the fact that he's "GANGSTA" those are the ones i was talking about,
as for deep foundation i could only find one of thier songs if anyone can send me a link so i can hear more but from what i heard they actually fall under the category of real hip hop because their rhymes maybe about the hardships in the phillipines but to the people listening it makes them feel better to know that other pinoy know what they are going through and feel happy be reminded of the motherland
First, let's take into account the language you're using here. You keep throwing around the word "Gangsta" but fail to acknowledge the fact that some of the most influential people in hip-hop represent an era often referred to as "Gangsta Rap." Tu Pac, Biggie, Nas, Wu Tang, Jay-Z?? Are you really such a candy cane that you think all of these guys have had an adversley negative effect on hip hop's "dream" lol. ??
"Are you really such a candy cane that you think all of these guys have had an adversley negative effect on hip hop"
to put simply yes i do beleive that all of them except wu tang had a adversly negative effect on not only hip hop but society in general, you want proof just take a look of some of tupacs videos where he actually sneaks up on some cops and causes trouble then yells it's cause i'm black when he gets beaten,
You act as if "gangster rap" is the reason there is violence in the "ghetto." You insist that Gangster rap is the reason black people smoke crack, shoot at cops and smack hoes... in fact, these conditions have been long present in areas of low socio-economic value... and the music of individuals hailing from said areas, is just a reflection of those harsh conditions.
I believe you're mad because these "gangster rappers" you speak of have found a way to capitalize on their shitty lives.
"You act as if "gangster rap" is the reason there is violence in the "ghetto."
it is still "gangsta rap" and not Hip hop, are you seeing my problem yet? they are two different styles of music yet they are being treated as if they were the one,
as for it being the reason for violence, i know it that it is not the reason for violence but the fact is idolizing these people that keep saying "i had to cheat steal and kill to get me to where i am" doesn't help the situation
my problem with what your saying is this: some gangster rap IS hip hop. If you tell me that Tu Pac and Biggie aren't hip hop, then you dont know what hip hop is and you should come up with a completely different terminology.
What situation are you referring to exactly? Poverty? Because these "gangster rappers" getting rich off of their raps would definitely counter that point.
My question is, do you honestly think that kids go out to rob cheat and steal because of gangster rap?
it sounds as if your ideals are weighed down heavily by the world wide pandemic of ignorance and stupidity. u are the poster child of apathy, and your views paint you as such. You would rather "not care" about something that is so obviously relevant, as opposed to admitting that in some way or another, you have failed as a human being by standing by idly. Maybe more Filipinos should care as opposed to watching wowowee and singing karaoke all day
"My question is, do you honestly think that kids go out to rob cheat and steal because of gangster rap? " in many cases yes i do people like tupac were icons their fore where setting an example to the younger generation and in saying i had to do this that and the other makes it seem like it is the only way to get to where they are, never do they say I worked long hours to get to where i am it's alway "I had to lie cheat steal to get to where i am"
Honestly, when gangster rap was at it's most hardcore (i would say in the early to mid 90s) the crimerate across the U.S. was already experiencing a steady decline from the 80s crack epidemic.
There is no proven correlation between gangster rap music and the rise of crime. Kids that are or were fans of Tu Pac were fans of his music, his rebelliousness, and his utter lack of regard for a system that wanted to (in his eyes) discriminate against him.
Moreover, a good host of his music was of the story-telling nature, envoking archetypical "ghetto" experiences and imbuing them with a moral lesson.
"Brenda's got a baby" "Keep Ya Head Up" "Dear Mama" "Life Goes on" "I Wonder if Heaven Got a Ghetto" "Changes" "Happy Home" "Unconditional Love" "Until the End of Time"
These are just a few of his songs that you should probably consider before over-generalizing his "negative" affect on the way youth at the time thought.
hmmm ok good good all telling a story but still NOT hip hop, but still good songs but in the end you say his songs are the things that are influnential but the fact is you can listen to a song and make it mean what ever you want but what you do can only be taken one way and in the end THAT is what people emulate take his song me against the world it's obviously about his strugles and hardships but after seeing how he is when not filming people can easily take it for something else
You would rather "not care" about something that is so obviously relevant," so your saying now that a black man has been voted president of the us all the starving people in the third world countries are gonna suddenly get food? oh and is he gonna stop letting the big companies out source their labour cause it is cheaper? oh wait this one he can do send force into africa to stop the warlords soldiers from raping and killing 6 year old children!!
until he actually does something about one of these things he is NOT that relevant, as far as the rest of the world is concerned he is JUST another American president
Your contradictions are staggering. First you say that Filipinos having to come to the U.S. in order to feed their families back home is NOT a social breakdown. Then you say that U.S. politics are irrelevant to Filipinos.
Barack Obama's financial offering involves tax cuts for small business owners and people from lower income brackets. A lot of the time, the same "asians in the western [that] have the right idea" (according to you)fall into that category.
now back to this politics bullshit, do you really think obama will be any different from say bush? do you really think he will implement any of the things he has promised? for all you know it could just be a bag of shit and he won't actually act on his promises, for all you know he could be the worst president in american history only time will tell, and you keep mentioning the pinoy but i am talking not just US-pinoy but the the whole world
I never said he was Jesus Christ reincarnerated and would fix all the problems of the world. That's just ridiculous. But to deny the fact that U.S. foregin policy doesn't effect Filipino domestic policy is just idiotic. For one thing, there are new regulations being discussed in the medical field requiring nurses from overseas to have a greater amount of certification before they can work in the U.S. Tell me how that is not relevant to at least three of your relatives? procede amicably.
"Tell me how that is not relevant to at least three of your relatives? procede amicably" true that some of my family are in the medical feild but the fact is they have no intention of moving to the philipines now can you tell me how making those regulations will help the situation there?
while your at it why don't you tell me how his foreign policies will effect the people in Africa "his ancestral homeland or one of them" where they are starving and can't hunt be cause of the wild life reservation acts imposed on the people of Africa by the over fed bureaucrats? fact of the matter is the only place this matters in in America, the only place he can make even a small difference is america, the rest of the world has bigger problems than amercias first black president
seeing a difference yet? fact of the matter is these people being shown occasionally release a hip hop track but that doesn't make them a hip hop artist and classing hip hop and gangsta rap in the same category is just plain silly
as for your question "when did music ever have soul?" why don't you really listen to songs like, feels good by naughty by nature, sitting on the dock of the bay by otis redding, the look of love by issac hayes, and you must have at least heard this one, killing me softly by the fugees, you compare those songs to the songs today maybe then you'll understand what we mean by soul
you're just being an asshole now, because if you read that comment... you'll see that I asked, "when did POP music ever have soul."
Stop trying to advance your point by taking me completely out of context.
I do in fact listen to those artists you mention. And the fact that you would not classify Naughty by Nature as "gangster rap" just shows how much a dumb ass you really are. Why don't you stick to listening to the Didgeridoo because your tactics are just offensive.
that's probably naughty by nature's most recognizable hit single... and all they talk about is taking OTHER PEOPLE'S THINGS i.e- STEALING! that's GANGSTA according to you.
actually he's talking just talking about cheating no stealing lol not a good example but the fact of the matter it comes with freedom which you americans so value to the second verse where he says for the girls other peoples property he's talking about the thing between your legs
just leave it alone dawg... you dont know what you're talking about. cheating and stealing are immorally equivalent... they both achieve the same end. For you to make that argument just shows how desperate you are to "prove that you're right."
actually cheating on someone which is what they are talking about and stealing aren't the same. when it comes down to it stealing it is taking what is not yours, cheating in the form naughty by nature are talking about is taking what you are offered cause that other person might be spoken for but one of the freedoms you amercians love is the freedom to change your mind
The song is about taking something that isn't yours. Maybe in your mind, cheating (or taking someone else's spouse into bed with you for sexual realations) does not equate to stealing that person from their partner... but in many circles it is considered as such. "you stole my woman." "you stole my man." These are phrases often uttered by the bereaved party in an OPP love triangle.
And since you advocated listening to them, how is naughty by nature not setting a bad example with this song?
btw, since you had so little praise to offer about Tu Pac in a previous comment I made, I think it would interest you to know that Tu Pac and Treach were extremely close friends. They would often "do gangster" things together, and their music is reflective of that relationship they shared.
I'll put it to you this way, if you came up to anyone in Naughty By Nature and tried to tell them they WEREN'T gangsta... I'm pretty sure they would bitch slap you and commence a gangbang on Usagikat.
that's all fine and dandy. Never said that Naughty by Nature didn't do positive songs. but they are definitely gangster rappers or at the very least, made songs with ethically questionable themes. here's a list.
"hang out and hustle" "Chain Remains" "Dirt all by my lonely" "Live or Die" "Thugs and Hustlers"
Naughty by Nature is nothing but thugs. Stop trying to convince yourself they're any different from Tu Pac or Nas...
here to help here is the definition to gangsta rap "Gangsta rap, which is known in the east coast as Hardcore rap[1], is a term that was originated by the mainstream media to describe a certain subgenre of hip hop music which developed during the late 1980s. It is a genre of hip hop that reflects the violent lifestyles of some inner-city youths." i have my own way of discribing it but i felt you'd like this better now tell me how does naughty by nature reflect the violent lifestyle?
I'm pretty sure his foregin policy is going to affect Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, Israel, China, and Europe... i can't speak for certain about Africa, but the other places I've mentioned have deeply entrenched relationships and dealings with the United States.
and it's obvious that the leader of the U.S. does affect other countries, i.e. Operation Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Afghani war, the Contras in Nicaragua, these are conflicts that were staged by US presidents
he only effects other countries when it suits the US but even then he has to run the move by the secretary generals and other governing parties before the US can act so in the end he is still his effect is still small
so basically there's no such thing as "world wide politics" in your opinion?
Any change regarding business regulations, food regulations, energy regulations in the U.S. will effect the global economy. The U.S. is responsible for consuming a laaaaarge percentage of the world's natural resources, and at the same time, it is also one of the most affluent nations in the world... as well as being up there as far as size and population. Any country with those traits would have a global effect
well actually yes is it up there when it comes to CONSUMING the worlds natural resources and that is one of the major reasons why there are starving countries so in that way it does affect the rest of the world but in the end the president is still powerless to act on anything on a global scale with out the go ahead of those other governing bodies so he is still irrelevant
you obviously can't read... because I said that those regulations were occuring in the UNITED STATES. Filipino nurses that want to move to the U.S. in order to "lessen the suffering of their people back home" are now facing more stringent standards for certification as opposed to domestic nurses.
those regulations DON'T help in the PI, but the point I was making was that American Politics do affect Filipinos overseas. Please really try to comprehend what it is I'm saying before replying
You obviously don't listen to enough hip hop music. When did TOP 40 or Pop music ever really have "soul" as you put it? Rarely I would venture to say.
your vague description of a documentary about some "place" losing some "dream" really doesn't do anything to advance your point.
The bottom line is this: Naturally, people that aren't fans of hip hop would be disinclined to do so, but i urge you to go out and listen to some albums and forget about the singles you hear on the radio.
Right. Clearly you have No idea what manny clouds is arguing about. he cant be 'skating around the issue' because the above group is not the issue. k thanks.
"your vague description of a documentary about some "place" losing some "dream" really doesn't do anything to advance your point."
because your dumb. staxs is a BIG part of the history of the music you defend.
No, because you were vague and never explained what "losing the dream" really meant. your statement was ambiguous.
I have no quarrel with Manny regarding the above group... because he has made it clear that he has no problem with the example that they set. I do however have a problem with you speaking for someone else. Fall back and have a dream somewhere about something you can't elaborate on.
it only took HOW long for you to notice he was talking about them???
and if you have trouble with short sentences. like that. its no wonder you still have no idea what i'm talking about. Basicly manny has already explained it I just stated how i Agree with with. Why should i explain what someone else has already said??
okay, so was he or was he not talking about the group "deep foundation?"
and btw... the following is not a sentence: "and if you have trouble with short sentences." it's actually a fragment... so I do have trouble with fragments if that's what you meant.
Moreover, you are liable to explain anything you say. It's hard for me to assume that two different people mean exactly the same thing. so please, if you can't explain yourself, stay out of the conversation.
ME not to long ago - "I just stated how i Agree with with"
and that's all that was needed to be explained.
HE knows were on the same page and that's all that matters and for a final note when he started commenting ten months ago up until he got sick of being acused of it, feel free to check, he was not talking about the above group.
i just pointed out your contradition. u told me to look at the whole thing before siding with mannycloud. I did...I do. so i've merely be replying to you.
i already told you that i have no more quarrel with him regarding deep foundation. I do have problems with some of his other statements, and those problems have been addressed. The conversation has already transcended the point you are trying to defend.
you on the other hand are something else. You are a complete idiot by my estimation. Sometimes I act stupid to try to get a rise out of people, but you... you just act stupid. i.e. my last comment and your response to it...
it only took HOW long for you to notice he was talking about them???- usagikat...
what you quoted was in response to the above sentence. them being who? deep foundation?
you have this problem with clarity... and apparently you don't even realize it. I'm trying to help you, but you're just so dumb that you can't see what's wrong with the way you communicate.
LoL, what does that question have to do with your communication problems? which brings me back to my point of you being an idiot.
besides... i already explained that comment. go do some more research since you obviously re-read all the comments before you come up with your genius responses.
well as you could have read in my other comment. clearly you didnt. there is nothing wrong with my communitcation. but there is so much wrong with your comprehension.
As for explaining your contradiction
"It's worse than slavery and racism" this is clearly strong sarcasim. (funny you can use it but cant see it)
but "Native American brethren you extinct bitch"
really takes away any power that comment had and cleary shows you are a hypocrite.
okokok. i know alot of people get discriminated cause of race today still kind of, but is everyone ignorent to the whites that arent raciest and are getting blamed for racism just for saying something to a black person, i mean fuck, why do some folks refer to themselves as we were enslaved and yall oppressed us, im 17 and i dident do jack shit to nobody, so all of u assholes who wanna play the poor minority card and all whites are evil why dont u stop being ignorent in turn
What a stupid blanket remark. Only the people who are greatly influenced by the hip hop culture are the ones who talk, dress and act that way. In case you're not aware, hip hop crosses all ethnicities, race, creed and religion.
slavery and being oppressed is our history in america, just because we talk about it, we always going to talk about it, if the subject at hand requires us to talk about it, and history should never be sweeped under a rug, especially a history like that
i'm not saying sweep it under the rug i'm saying if i don't like you it's not cause your black it's cause your a cunt. yet when ever i show any form of aggression or discomfort while around you, you say it cause i'm racist? really that's what i mean by get over it.
first of all, i dont give a fuck about you not liking me whether it's because i'm black or some other reason, how about you get over the fact that some people will always think that the way you feel about them as to do with race (it might have to do with race, theres racist people that dont know that they're racist),get over it, stop fucking whining
well then how about the ones that don't care start standing up and telling the rest of you guys to shut to fuck up your making us look bad. and while your at it get these stupid gangsta rappers off my tv i wanna see john williamson god damn it lol
that's all well and good but it still sets a bad example for the younger generation that are not stupid but more nieve and may beleive it's the only way to get on tv
LoL... his name is MANNYclouds... not MANY clouds. he's not one of your Native American brethren you extinct bitch. go skin a colonist and leave the fake thugs alone pochahontas.
actually i married a girl of native american decent living here in australia is on ways i am one of the native american brethern my children sure as hell are so i'd prefer it if you leave those comments to yourself
if you were going for a play on words... you should have said "Long tee" pee. that was the popular style a couple of years ago, and the common street vernacular used to refer to the style was "long white tee" not "big tee."
either way, you're joke loses the little comical value it originally possessed.
btw. how are you a native american just because you married a girl that is? that's a pretty dumb thing to say. In that same regard, would you say that John Smith was native amer.?
ok here is the big question did he accept and respect her heritage? or did he just marry her because he liked the way she looked and tried to impose his beleifs on her while in wed lock?
and what she was pointing if you read my previous comments here i'll repost them may be then it'll make more sense
Me 10 months ago "ok i have several points on this one. now adays most "hip hop" isn't hip hop. hip hop was a way of forgetting you troubles so you could let loose on da dance floor after work and the reason it's called R&B is because it is litrally blues music with a up beat temp. most "hip hop and R&B now adays is actually just gangsta rap with a different label on it. as for us trying to be black by liking hip hop? the african americans all are emulating trates of different cultures."
and as for that thing on slavery i'm not trying to be mean or anything but every culture has been enslaved. phinoy by the spanish, chinese and i beleive japanese. irish and scottish by the english. the english by the romans so on and so forth just cause they were the last race that is remember to be slaves don't mean they can keep milking it, do they really think it was any better for the other races?
and as for that thing on slavery i'm not trying to be mean or anything but every culture has been enslaved. phinoy by the spanish, chinese and i beleive japanese. irish and scottish by the english. the english by the romans so on and so forth just cause they were the last race that is remember to be slaves don't mean they can keep milking it.
the slavery and the oppression of blacks cannot be compared, black americans still lives in a country that they were brought to be slaves, and the end of slavery, was just the beginning of oppression for black people, the civil rights movement ended in 1968! that was just 40 years ago
how many times did the black americans get enslaved? i don't know, i know the minimum amount of times pinoy were enlaved 3 times. sure they were oppressed but about living in the country where they were inslaved. You are free now to leave or stay, where as there are people in the world right now that are STILL slaves the fact is what is done is done it can't be taken back so just get over it and live your life. by the way who made those nikes in your closet?
and who mostly buys those diamonds? and those slaves aren't the black americans they can go right accross the spectrum now. i'm just pointing out the fact that the black amercans aren't that bad off any more and should really get over this aww i was oppressed everyone hates me my kids hate being black.
yeah, they should just get over it that they sold themselves to the white people to be enslaved, that wasn't even them or anybody that they knew, why do they keep the whole racial thing going by having people like Al Sharpton that sues any white person that mentions that your black, your black and thats that, you just gotta live with it.
sicochicken, what are you talking about?, i know im' black, and that was never a problem to me, me being black is only problem to people that hate black people
and black people standing there going oh how dare you just because i'm black you hate me cause i'm black! when most of the time the other person will be looking at the person going no not because your black because your and snobby up tight bitch. or that study that black girl did with the white doll and the black doll and they're going black children are ashamed of being black everyone hates blacks. no that's not the case it's a case of wanting what you can't have.
example why do you thing all those white people are lying on the beaches giving them selves cancer. because they want the dark complexion you guys have. and as for not being able to find one of those black baby dolls in the shop, have you ever seen a asian one of those baby dolls? no you know why because they are so rare they are collectors items. why is it that you guys have a thing for asian? they are exotic, why does asians have a thing for westerners because they are exotic.
if people working in the sweatshops are slaves, then the africans working in the diamond mines are slaves too, dont tell me they dont have to work there because the same can be said for the people in the sweatshops
get over what? get over the truth, we're not that bad off now becuase we fought for that, freedom wasnt just given to us, the africans that work in the diamiond mines can go right cross the spectrum, so can the people that work in the sweatshops, so compare them to when blacks were slave in america is fucking dumb, "should really get over this aww i was oppressed, everyones hates me my kids being black" shut the fuck up, you dont know what the fuck you talking about
actualli i do it's post everywhere i walk along the street and look at one of you wrong i'm racist. fact is fact your free now yes you earned it, so be proud and stop fucking whineing
The fact is, you're mad because the civil rights movement actually bore fruits for Blaks in the United States... and now they want more.
Maybe Filipinos at large should ask for restitution from Europeans and White America for the Colonization of our country and the rape of our indigenous culture.
Do you really think that Filipinos want light complexions and pointy noses because it's exotic? Westerners dont press down their children's noses because they want them to flatten out.
"Do you really think that Filipinos want light complexions and pointy noses because it's exotic?" this just shows you have never been to the homeland if you had you would know the nigritos(dark skined pinoy) is considered a lower class in the philippines because of their darker skin, and don't try to tell me that there are none because that is MY blood line
First off, let me say, I never denied that pinoys do in fact want those features. My point was to say, it's not because of "exoticism," it's because they've been conditioned to feel inferior to Europeans and deny their aboriginal features.
Don't pawn indoctrination and self loathing off to the want of "exotic" things... this is about our people being brainwashed and raped and our country being occupied then puppet stated. ass hole.
i'm filipino, but never would I compare the Transatlantic slave trade to the colonization of the Philippines. The transportation of slaves from Africa- to Europe- and then to the Americas- was one of the most expansive networks for human trafficking ever created. I empathize with the history of my fellow Filipinos, but maybe they should still be "whining" about the current state of their economy and the white-washing of their culture by the West.
"never would I compare the Transatlantic slave trade(TST) to the colonization of the Philippines." They subjugated and enslaved our ENTRIRE country, they only sent what tribes they could find when it comes to the TST. and what's to say none of our people where on the one of those transatlantice slave boats? and don't pull the i'm phillipino shit, because if you knew what it was really like to live there you wouldn't think the african amreicans are suffering
You can't compare the two... they were completely different. and you just proved my point, so... TAG, you're the ignorant one!
so instead of arguing with me about who's suffered more, african americans or filipinos, why dont we just agree that they've all suffered tremendously... and at this point, those four groups are at totally different stages of their history.
I'm just mad that there isn't a person of Asian American descent making a huge impact on American Politics like Obama is.
"You can't compare the two... they were completely different"
finally a shred of sense from your Americanized brain, but that's a turn around considering when i brought up our subjugation you turned around and said that the African Americans had it worse so no your still the ignorant one
and i couldn't careless about american politics and I'm sure alot of asian americans couldn't careless either why don't you jump off the band wagon and get your own ideals
lol@Americanized brain. when did I say that African Americans had it worse? It was you, in fact, who maintain that Filipinos have had it worse and STILL have it worse than African Americans.
and I'm sure you couldn't care less about American politics because you are an ignorant person. American politics effects ALL politics, and the reason Asian Americans dont get as much recognition in the U.S. is because they fail to involve themselves in the conventions that run their day to day lives.
" never would I compare the Transatlantic slave trade to the colonization of the Philippines. The transportation of slaves from Africa-to Europe- and then to the Americas- was one of the most expansive networks for human trafficking ever created." that sounds to me like you were saying they were worse off,
"American politics effects ALL politics" no it doesn',t americans like to think it does but it doesn't do you really think that obama being elected will change the food shortage over seas?
You know what would lessen their suffering? Bringing to light the atrocities that occur due to poverty in their respective motherlands... the fact that they have to come to the United States to work in order to support their family, to me, is a huge sign of societal breakdown. To quote a friend of mine, "why should a woman have to leave her family to become a maid?" If you call that the right idea, then you're just part of the problem.
"why should a woman have to leave her family to become a maid?" how can you NOT compare the two? it's just another form of human trafficking with a prettier name.
you beleive it's a social break down? no it isn't a social break down it's the fact western companies coming in and taking all our resources e.g. fishing out our waters and leaving nothing for the people living there with the promise of a richer future do you really think woman would leave here family if they were already well fed
LoL, how is what you just described NOT a social breakdown?
You are about as dense as they come. The problem with you... AND your girlfriend... is you both place yourselves on a moral pedestal and shun the rest who fall short of that standard.
I do not think a woman would feel the need to leave her family if there was economic stability in her locality... however, what you described above is a form of world wide societal decline, aka, social breakdown.
so the subjugation of a country is now the same thing as a network for human trafficking? it's not... and that's why I would NEVER compare the two. You are an idiot.
My statement could be equated to saying "I would never compare the subjugation of the Philippines under Western rule to the bombing of Hiroshima." Both represent incredible wrongs, but are incomparable for obvious reasons.
ok i have several points on this one. now adays most "hip hop" isn't hip hop. hip hop was a way of forgetting you troubles so you could let loose on da dance floor after work. most "hip hop and R&B now adays is actually just gangsta rap with a different label on it. as for we trying to be black by like hip hop? the african americans all are emulating trates of different cultures.
ok i have several points on this one. now adays most "hip hop" isn't hip hop. hip hop was a way of forgetting you troubles so you could let loose on da dance floor after work. most "hip hop and R&B now adays is actually just gangsta rap with a different label on it. as for we trying to be black by like hip hop? the african americans all are emulating trates of different cultures.
you dont need to cuss to make good music. elvis did it. michael jackson did it. ppl think if you cuss then you're just being "hip". but what i believe is its all about respect. sure i'll think the words in my head, but my conscience tells me that ppl will be offended if i speak it out loud. so i dont. there are so many other words you can use to get the message heard.
I dont know shit? I'm Filipino. I grew up with fellow Filipino Americans who are convinced are black. And its universal. I've been to California, Florida, New York and the Philippines and all the Filipinos there I met think they evented hip hop.
I'm one of the guys in the hip hop group that was rapping in this episode. As a Filipino mc, we constantly hear or read other Filipinos accusing us of "trying to be black" just because we participate in hip hop. I never understood that label and will never understand it. I won't pretend that there ain't Filipinos out there with an identity crisis, but the same can be said for every ethnic group.
oh, and none of us think we "evented" hip hop..whatever the hell evented is.
I meant to type invented. There's nothing wrong with liking any particular music but I just think it looks funny when people wam it up in the ass. The way they talk, walk, act, and of course dress. This goes for Filipinos who think theyre suburban white people.
so tell me how one "acts Filipino" then. should we all wear barongs wherever we go? should we speak in filipino dialects or filipino accents whenever we talk to people...how should we act?
If someone is immersed in the music/culture of hip hop, then it shouldn't come as a surprise that they walk, talk, dress, hip hop. As long as they still recognize their heritage,i see nothing wrong with that. Most of the guys in our group are as you described. Yet we have songs about the Philippines.
Did I touch a nerve? First of all, I'm not advocating anything. This can be said about other fellow Americans like Arabs, Vietnamese, Hispanic, White etc. Its amazing when you see how these people act and they over do it. Fine, you like this music but I don't think it has to completely change one's attitude and we have to watch them act like someone they're not.
lol touch a nerve? I'm asking you a perfectly valid question. How can one act/talk/walk/dress Filipino? If you're saying that anyone who is influenced by hip hop culture is "convinced that they are black", then enlighten us with a guideline of "how to be a true Filipino." So again, I ask you. How should we talk to be true Filipino. How should we dress? How should we act? You have it all figured out, right? So please, do tell.
I wasn't proposing how Filipinos should act. All I said was some Filipinos act black like they created the culture and this can be said about any ethnicity. Obviously your offended making this a big deal when I said nothing about being a "true" Filipino. Don't put words in my mouth. People should act like themselves with honesty.
well it is a big deal if you make reckless blanket statements like that...if you think being influenced by hip hop is acting black, then you must have an idea of how one should act. Since you outed Filipinos, I wanted you to tell me how a Filipino should act Filipino. Since being hip hop = acting black, tell us how one can "act Filipino". There's no denying that there are many people who pretend to be something/someone they ain't..but don't make half-ass generalizations.
Filipinos and anyone should act like themselves. Even if one enjoys hip hop music. There is no excuse why someone has to pretend that got shit coming out their ass when walking or sagging pants, or can't speak articulate english. Just cos one grew up in a black area doesn't mean one has to act like them copying the speech and the gestures. You end up looking stupid and being someone you're not.
Well I did want to mention what you said about blacks who don't act like that. There is no scientific basis for someone that was born and raised in a place they become like that. There are Indians and Chinese raised in those places and they don't end up like that. Now you'r making a generalization. I was born in black/hispanic area, I didn't end up like that.
you're still avoiding what my main question is. Since you're saying that Chinese, Indians, plus yourself included, didn't become "like that", you're basically saying that being inarticulate is being black? you're saying that non-blacks don't "become like that" and a few posts ago, you explained that "that" means not speaking in articulate manner on top of dressing hip hop. So is that how you view Black people? Inarticulate & dressed in baggy attire? lol your ignorance reeks.
Again you're putting words in my mouth and asking the same questions assuming this is what I meant. You all like to play pretend, fine. All youre doing is emphasizing the arguement cos you got your feelings hurt plain and simple. If you enjoy being a nigger lover then more power to you. You ain't gonna change my mind. So stop cyin' already.
that's not putting words in your mouth. that's basically applying your logic in a broader sense. You said that you know so many filipinos who "act black" & u described "acting black" as being inarticulate & dressing up in baggy gear. LOL i'm asking the same question over because you have yet to answer them. that's right, show your true colors. your disdain for black people is obvious w/ the way you've put them down w/ your rationale. stick to talking shit & don't argue with grown folks, junior.

Rap songs today are filled with insulting and awful words, especially the word "bitch" it completely degrades women and whats worse is that in most of the rap videos I see, women are being treated like objects. I would actually like rap if more artists are delivering a good message, especially to the younger generation.

Dan74NYC 2 years ago
Plus the flaw in your argument is mass conspiracy. Crystal Meth is on the uprise all over American suburbs... does this mean Elite Government now wants to kill off the MidWest? Look, it's not as simple as evil white people... that's the easy way out my friend.
Dan74NYC 2 years ago
he's right.. crack was introduced to the ghetto's to keep the lower class down, by the government. and you're right, just because meth is intro'd into the suburbs doesn't mean its the government.

The Black Panthers were not about social equality. The Black Panthers were about black pride and over-coming. dont' believe me? go check out a black panther poster, or watch a documentry, or read a book. They were just as hypocritical as the white oppressionists. but I digress. the "TRUTH" is. it's not about white or black, not anymore. it's about rich and poor. hell, it's ALWAYS been. there's just 'easier' ways to diversify it.

how does that not make sense? i mean... even after stooping to the level of those who mean to ignorantly badmouth others for their beliefs and upbringings, I can still understand the sarcasm and utter lack of regard for political correctness that I meant to convey.
so just take a step back and examine the situation before you start defending the likes of manny clouds who thinks that enterprising young men pursuing their dreams are a bad influence on the up and coming generation.
RowdyRo 3 years ago

RowdyRo 3 years ago
well what manny was conveying in this debate 10 months ago and I said about it losing the dream, is the same thing. hip hop was suppose to be feel good music. not an excuse to brag about guns and gang bashings. Not in one of his comment from ten month ago did he mention the above band. sevral time he did mention rappers that -literally advertise- them selves as hard core thugs. thus setting a bad example.
usagikat 3 years ago
let's stop skating around the issue.
RowdyRo 3 years ago
ok last i checked the subject was hip hops bad rap is it not? now taking into account what i just said about hip hop why not explain to me what the people in frames 1.08 to 1.15 doing there? cause as i said they are from a different form of music and 50 cent's big selling point is the fact that he's "GANGSTA" those are the ones i was talking about,
mannyclouds 3 years ago
as for deep foundation i could only find one of thier songs if anyone can send me a link so i can hear more but from what i heard they actually fall under the category of real hip hop because their rhymes maybe about the hardships in the phillipines but to the people listening it makes them feel better to know that other pinoy know what they are going through and feel happy be reminded of the motherland
mannyclouds 3 years ago
First, let's take into account the language you're using here. You keep throwing around the word "Gangsta" but fail to acknowledge the fact that some of the most influential people in hip-hop represent an era often referred to as "Gangsta Rap." Tu Pac, Biggie, Nas, Wu Tang, Jay-Z?? Are you really such a candy cane that you think all of these guys have had an adversley negative effect on hip hop's "dream" lol. ??
RowdyRo 3 years ago
"Are you really such a candy cane that you think all of these guys have had an adversley negative effect on hip hop"
to put simply yes i do beleive that all of them except wu tang had a adversly negative effect on not only hip hop but society in general, you want proof just take a look of some of tupacs videos where he actually sneaks up on some cops and causes trouble then yells it's cause i'm black when he gets beaten,
mannyclouds 3 years ago
You act as if "gangster rap" is the reason there is violence in the "ghetto." You insist that Gangster rap is the reason black people smoke crack, shoot at cops and smack hoes... in fact, these conditions have been long present in areas of low socio-economic value... and the music of individuals hailing from said areas, is just a reflection of those harsh conditions.
I believe you're mad because these "gangster rappers" you speak of have found a way to capitalize on their shitty lives.
RowdyRo 3 years ago
"You act as if "gangster rap" is the reason there is violence in the "ghetto."
it is still "gangsta rap" and not Hip hop, are you seeing my problem yet? they are two different styles of music yet they are being treated as if they were the one,
as for it being the reason for violence, i know it that it is not the reason for violence but the fact is idolizing these people that keep saying "i had to cheat steal and kill to get me to where i am" doesn't help the situation
mannyclouds 3 years ago
my problem with what your saying is this: some gangster rap IS hip hop.
RowdyRo 3 years ago
what band wagon are you speaking of exactly?
it sounds as if your ideals are weighed down heavily by the world wide pandemic of ignorance and stupidity. u are the poster child of apathy, and your views paint you as such. You would rather "not care" about something that is so obviously relevant, as opposed to admitting that in some way or another, you have failed as a human being by standing by idly. Maybe more Filipinos should care as opposed to watching wowowee and singing karaoke all day
RowdyRo 3 years ago
"My question is, do you honestly think that kids go out to rob cheat and steal because of gangster rap? " in many cases yes i do people like tupac were icons their fore where setting an example to the younger generation and in saying i had to do this that and the other makes it seem like it is the only way to get to where they are, never do they say I worked long hours to get to where i am it's alway "I had to lie cheat steal to get to where i am"
mannyclouds 3 years ago
Honestly, when gangster rap was at it's most hardcore (i would say in the early to mid 90s) the crimerate across the U.S. was already experiencing a steady decline from the 80s crack epidemic.
There is no proven correlation between gangster rap music and the rise of crime. Kids that are or were fans of Tu Pac were fans of his music, his rebelliousness, and his utter lack of regard for a system that wanted to (in his eyes) discriminate against him.
RowdyRo 3 years ago
Moreover, a good host of his music was of the story-telling nature, envoking archetypical "ghetto" experiences and imbuing them with a moral lesson.
"Brenda's got a baby" "Keep Ya Head Up" "Dear Mama" "Life Goes on" "I Wonder if Heaven Got a Ghetto" "Changes" "Happy Home" "Unconditional Love" "Until the End of Time"
These are just a few of his songs that you should probably consider before over-generalizing his "negative" affect on the way youth at the time thought.
RowdyRo 3 years ago
hmmm ok good good all telling a story but still NOT hip hop, but still good songs but in the end you say his songs are the things that are influnential but the fact is you can listen to a song and make it mean what ever you want but what you do can only be taken one way and in the end THAT is what people emulate take his song me against the world it's obviously about his strugles and hardships but after seeing how he is when not filming people can easily take it for something else
mannyclouds 3 years ago
You would rather "not care" about something that is so obviously relevant," so your saying now that a black man has been voted president of the us all the starving people in the third world countries are gonna suddenly get food? oh and is he gonna stop letting the big companies out source their labour cause it is cheaper? oh wait this one he can do send force into africa to stop the warlords soldiers from raping and killing 6 year old children!!
mannyclouds 3 years ago
until he actually does something about one of these things he is NOT that relevant, as far as the rest of the world is concerned he is JUST another American president
mannyclouds 3 years ago
Your contradictions are staggering. First you say that Filipinos having to come to the U.S. in order to feed their families back home is NOT a social breakdown. Then you say that U.S. politics are irrelevant to Filipinos.
Barack Obama's financial offering involves tax cuts for small business owners and people from lower income brackets. A lot of the time, the same "asians in the western [that] have the right idea" (according to you)fall into that category.
You're trach.
RowdyRo 3 years ago
now back to this politics bullshit, do you really think obama will be any different from say bush? do you really think he will implement any of the things he has promised? for all you know it could just be a bag of shit and he won't actually act on his promises, for all you know he could be the worst president in american history only time will tell, and you keep mentioning the pinoy but i am talking not just US-pinoy but the the whole world
mannyclouds 3 years ago
I never said he was Jesus Christ reincarnerated and would fix all the problems of the world. That's just ridiculous. But to deny the fact that U.S. foregin policy doesn't effect Filipino domestic policy is just idiotic. For one thing, there are new regulations being discussed in the medical field requiring nurses from overseas to have a greater amount of certification before they can work in the U.S. Tell me how that is not relevant to at least three of your relatives? procede amicably.
RowdyRo 3 years ago
*But to deny the fact that U.S. foregin policy does affect Filipino domestic policy is just idiotic.
RowdyRo 3 years ago
"Tell me how that is not relevant to at least three of your relatives? procede amicably" true that some of my family are in the medical feild but the fact is they have no intention of moving to the philipines now can you tell me how making those regulations will help the situation there?
mannyclouds 3 years ago
while your at it why don't you tell me how his foreign policies will effect the people in Africa "his ancestral homeland or one of them" where they are starving and can't hunt be cause of the wild life reservation acts imposed on the people of Africa by the over fed bureaucrats? fact of the matter is the only place this matters in in America, the only place he can make even a small difference is america, the rest of the world has bigger problems than amercias first black president
mannyclouds 3 years ago
and here you wanna make comparisons on music here
holiday, hip hop
me and my girlfreind, gangsta rap
crismas in the holi's hip hop
raining murder gangsta rap
seeing a difference yet? fact of the matter is these people being shown occasionally release a hip hop track but that doesn't make them a hip hop artist and classing hip hop and gangsta rap in the same category is just plain silly
mannyclouds 3 years ago
as for your question "when did music ever have soul?" why don't you really listen to songs like, feels good by naughty by nature, sitting on the dock of the bay by otis redding, the look of love by issac hayes, and you must have at least heard this one, killing me softly by the fugees, you compare those songs to the songs today maybe then you'll understand what we mean by soul
mannyclouds 3 years ago
you're just being an asshole now, because if you read that comment... you'll see that I asked, "when did POP music ever have soul."
RowdyRo 3 years ago
oh really why don't you tell me what makes them "gangsta"?
mannyclouds 3 years ago
o.p.p- other people pussy
o.p.p- other people's property
that's probably naughty by nature's most recognizable hit single... and all they talk about is taking OTHER PEOPLE'S THINGS i.e- STEALING! that's GANGSTA according to you.
idiot.
RowdyRo 3 years ago
actually he's talking just talking about cheating no stealing lol not a good example but the fact of the matter it comes with freedom which you americans so value to the second verse where he says for the girls other peoples property he's talking about the thing between your legs
mannyclouds 3 years ago
LoL. you...are...so...stupid!!!!!!
just leave it alone dawg... you dont know what you're talking about. cheating and stealing are immorally equivalent... they both achieve the same end. For you to make that argument just shows how desperate you are to "prove that you're right."
RowdyRo 3 years ago
actually cheating on someone which is what they are talking about and stealing aren't the same. when it comes down to it stealing it is taking what is not yours, cheating in the form naughty by nature are talking about is taking what you are offered cause that other person might be spoken for but one of the freedoms you amercians love is the freedom to change your mind
mannyclouds 3 years ago
looks to me likes someone has a problem comprehending what the songs really about
mannyclouds 3 years ago
The song is about taking something that isn't yours. Maybe in your mind, cheating (or taking someone else's spouse into bed with you for sexual realations) does not equate to stealing that person from their partner... but in many circles it is considered as such. "you stole my woman." "you stole my man." These are phrases often uttered by the bereaved party in an OPP love triangle.
And since you advocated listening to them, how is naughty by nature not setting a bad example with this song?
RowdyRo 3 years ago
btw, since you had so little praise to offer about Tu Pac in a previous comment I made, I think it would interest you to know that Tu Pac and Treach were extremely close friends.
RowdyRo 3 years ago
So yo the moral of the story in this game called rap
Either we all gon' clap, or somebody gon' get clapped
And I'm not down with that, sure as my name's Vin Rock
In '99 I will officially re-open up the block
And dedicate my life to preservation of hip-hop
I'm tired of seein the people of my culture gettin shot
And now I must step up because I know that's all we got
usagikat 3 years ago
I must do it, pursue it, before all the maggots make it rot
Hip-Hop, it ain't gon' die, it's gon' diversify
And as long as I'm alive, I'm gon' promote the I
And no matter how many people try to use or difuse it
It ain't nuttin like hip-hop music!!
usagikat 3 years ago
that's all fine and dandy.
RowdyRo 3 years ago
are you listing songs? please elaborate on what it is you're doing in this post.
RowdyRo 3 years ago
here to help here is the definition to gangsta rap "Gangsta rap, which is known in the east coast as Hardcore rap[1], is a term that was originated by the mainstream media to describe a certain subgenre of hip hop music which developed during the late 1980s. It is a genre of hip hop that reflects the violent lifestyles of some inner-city youths." i have my own way of discribing it but i felt you'd like this better now tell me how does naughty by nature reflect the violent lifestyle?
mannyclouds 3 years ago
I'm pretty sure his foregin policy is going to affect Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, Israel, China, and Europe... i can't speak for certain about Africa, but the other places I've mentioned have deeply entrenched relationships and dealings with the United States.
and it's obvious that the leader of the U.S. does affect other countries, i.e. Operation Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Afghani war, the Contras in Nicaragua, these are conflicts that were staged by US presidents
RowdyRo 3 years ago
he only effects other countries when it suits the US but even then he has to run the move by the secretary generals and other governing parties before the US can act so in the end he is still his effect is still small
mannyclouds 3 years ago
so basically there's no such thing as "world wide politics" in your opinion?
Any change regarding business regulations, food regulations, energy regulations in the U.S. will effect the global economy. The U.S. is responsible for consuming a laaaaarge percentage of the world's natural resources, and at the same time, it is also one of the most affluent nations in the world... as well as being up there as far as size and population. Any country with those traits would have a global effect
RowdyRo 3 years ago
well actually yes is it up there when it comes to CONSUMING the worlds natural resources and that is one of the major reasons why there are starving countries so in that way it does affect the rest of the world but in the end the president is still powerless to act on anything on a global scale with out the go ahead of those other governing bodies so he is still irrelevant
mannyclouds 3 years ago
you obviously can't read... because I said that those regulations were occuring in the UNITED STATES.
RowdyRo 3 years ago
and for a final note.
I saw a documenty on stax a few nights ago. really good one too and its was sad to see the place slowly losing the originial dream.
to Quote - soul music is NOT about a man proving hes black
soul music is NOT about a man proving hes white
its about them proving that Music is a mans Soul.
usagikat 3 years ago
You obviously don't listen to enough hip hop music. When did TOP 40 or Pop music ever really have "soul" as you put it? Rarely I would venture to say.
your vague description of a documentary about some "place" losing some "dream" really doesn't do anything to advance your point.
The bottom line is this: Naturally, people that aren't fans of hip hop would be disinclined to do so, but i urge you to go out and listen to some albums and forget about the singles you hear on the radio.
RowdyRo 3 years ago
Right. Clearly you have No idea what manny clouds is arguing about. he cant be 'skating around the issue' because the above group is not the issue. k thanks.
"your vague description of a documentary about some "place" losing some "dream" really doesn't do anything to advance your point."
because your dumb. staxs is a BIG part of the history of the music you defend.
usagikat 3 years ago
No, because you were vague and never explained what "losing the dream" really meant. your statement was ambiguous.
I have no quarrel with Manny regarding the above group... because he has made it clear that he has no problem with the example that they set. I do however have a problem with you speaking for someone else. Fall back and have a dream somewhere about something you can't elaborate on.
RowdyRo 3 years ago
it only took HOW long for you to notice he was talking about them???
and if you have trouble with short sentences. like that. its no wonder you still have no idea what i'm talking about. Basicly manny has already explained it I just stated how i Agree with with. Why should i explain what someone else has already said??
usagikat 3 years ago
okay, so was he or was he not talking about the group "deep foundation?"
and btw... the following is not a sentence: "and if you have trouble with short sentences." it's actually a fragment... so I do have trouble with fragments if that's what you meant.
Moreover, you are liable to explain anything you say. It's hard for me to assume that two different people mean exactly the same thing. so please, if you can't explain yourself, stay out of the conversation.
RowdyRo 3 years ago
ME not to long ago - "I just stated how i Agree with with"
and that's all that was needed to be explained.
HE knows were on the same page and that's all that matters and for a final note when he started commenting ten months ago up until he got sick of being acused of it, feel free to check, he was not talking about the above group.
i just pointed out your contradition. u told me to look at the whole thing before siding with mannycloud. I did...I do. so i've merely be replying to you.
usagikat 3 years ago
i already told you that i have no more quarrel with him regarding deep foundation.
RowdyRo 3 years ago
-okay, so was he or was he not talking about the group "deep foundation?" - this is YOUR last comment before this one.
k thanks
usagikat 3 years ago
it only took HOW long for you to notice he was talking about them???- usagikat...
what you quoted was in response to the above sentence. them being who? deep foundation?
you have this problem with clarity... and apparently you don't even realize it. I'm trying to help you, but you're just so dumb that you can't see what's wrong with the way you communicate.
k thanks.
RowdyRo 3 years ago
you have a problem with sarcasm.
seeing as he Clerly wasnt, clearly i was being sarcastic.
I just gave you too much credit to add a **end sarcasim here**
my bad next time i'll remeber your too stoOpid to work things out for yourself
have a nice day
usagikat 3 years ago
as for communication problems I must come back to my first comment.
RowdyRo - "white people being blamed for things. It's worse than slavery and racism."
strong words coming from the same person that commented
"he's not one of your Native American brethren you extinct bitch."
so are you or are you not against racism?
usagikat 3 years ago
LoL, what does that question have to do with your communication problems? which brings me back to my point of you being an idiot.
besides... i already explained that comment. go do some more research since you obviously re-read all the comments before you come up with your genius responses.
laaater looooooser!
RowdyRo 3 years ago
well as you could have read in my other comment. clearly you didnt. there is nothing wrong with my communitcation. but there is so much wrong with your comprehension.
As for explaining your contradiction
"It's worse than slavery and racism" this is clearly strong sarcasim. (funny you can use it but cant see it)
but "Native American brethren you extinct bitch"
really takes away any power that comment had and cleary shows you are a hypocrite.
Later hater :P
usagikat 3 years ago
okokok. i know alot of people get discriminated cause of race today still kind of, but is everyone ignorent to the whites that arent raciest and are getting blamed for racism just for saying something to a black person, i mean fuck, why do some folks refer to themselves as we were enslaved and yall oppressed us, im 17 and i dident do jack shit to nobody, so all of u assholes who wanna play the poor minority card and all whites are evil why dont u stop being ignorent in turn

slavery and being oppressed is our history in america, just because we talk about it, we always going to talk about it, if the subject at hand requires us to talk about it, and history should never be sweeped under a rug, especially a history like that
christopherrrrrrrrr 3 years ago
i'm not saying sweep it under the rug i'm saying if i don't like you it's not cause your black it's cause your a cunt. yet when ever i show any form of aggression or discomfort while around you, you say it cause i'm racist? really that's what i mean by get over it.
mannyclouds 3 years ago
first of all, i dont give a fuck about you not liking me whether it's because i'm black or some other reason, how about you get over the fact that some people will always think that the way you feel about them as to do with race (it might have to do with race, theres racist people that dont know that they're racist),get over it, stop fucking whining

mannyclouds 3 years ago
sorry... i didn't realize you two lived in the same tee pee.
RowdyRo 3 years ago
well its a BIG tee pee LOL
mannyclouds 3 years ago
if you were going for a play on words... you should have said "Long tee" pee. that was the popular style a couple of years ago, and the common street vernacular used to refer to the style was "long white tee" not "big tee."
either way, you're joke loses the little comical value it originally possessed.
btw. how are you a native american just because you married a girl that is? that's a pretty dumb thing to say. In that same regard, would you say that John Smith was native amer.?
RowdyRo 3 years ago
i said in a way i am a native american brethren in the sense of in laws did i really need to spell it out? john smith never married Pocahontas
mannyclouds 3 years ago
sorry, i meant John Rolfe, not John Smith...
so now that we have that out of the way... would you say that he was a native american brethren?
RowdyRo 3 years ago
ok here is the big question did he accept and respect her heritage? or did he just marry her because he liked the way she looked and tried to impose his beleifs on her while in wed lock?
and what she was pointing if you read my previous comments here i'll repost them may be then it'll make more sense

the slavery and the oppression of blacks cannot be compared, black americans still lives in a country that they were brought to be slaves, and the end of slavery, was just the beginning of oppression for black people, the civil rights movement ended in 1968! that was just 40 years ago
christopherrrrrrrrr 3 years ago
how many times did the black americans get enslaved? i don't know, i know the minimum amount of times pinoy were enlaved 3 times. sure they were oppressed but about living in the country where they were inslaved. You are free now to leave or stay, where as there are people in the world right now that are STILL slaves the fact is what is done is done it can't be taken back so just get over it and live your life. by the way who made those nikes in your closet?
mannyclouds 3 years ago
if the people that work in sweatshops are SLAVES so are the africans working the diamond mines, so the people that are STILL slaves are blacks too
christopherrrrrrrrr 3 years ago
and who mostly buys those diamonds? and those slaves aren't the black americans they can go right accross the spectrum now. i'm just pointing out the fact that the black amercans aren't that bad off any more and should really get over this aww i was oppressed everyone hates me my kids hate being black.
mannyclouds 3 years ago
yeah, they should just get over it that they sold themselves to the white people to be enslaved, that wasn't even them or anybody that they knew, why do they keep the whole racial thing going by having people like Al Sharpton that sues any white person that mentions that your black, your black and thats that, you just gotta live with it.
sicochicken 3 years ago
sicochicken, what are you talking about?, i know im' black, and that was never a problem to me, me being black is only problem to people that hate black people
christopherrrrrrrrr 3 years ago
and black people standing there going oh how dare you just because i'm black you hate me cause i'm black! when most of the time the other person will be looking at the person going no not because your black because your and snobby up tight bitch. or that study that black girl did with the white doll and the black doll and they're going black children are ashamed of being black everyone hates blacks. no that's not the case it's a case of wanting what you can't have.
mannyclouds 3 years ago
example why do you thing all those white people are lying on the beaches giving them selves cancer. because they want the dark complexion you guys have. and as for not being able to find one of those black baby dolls in the shop, have you ever seen a asian one of those baby dolls? no you know why because they are so rare they are collectors items. why is it that you guys have a thing for asian? they are exotic, why does asians have a thing for westerners because they are exotic.
mannyclouds 3 years ago
if people working in the sweatshops are slaves, then the africans working in the diamond mines are slaves too, dont tell me they dont have to work there because the same can be said for the people in the sweatshops
christopherrrrrrrrr 3 years ago
but they are not the african_AMERICANS
mannyclouds 3 years ago
get over what? get over the truth, we're not that bad off now becuase we fought for that, freedom wasnt just given to us, the africans that work in the diamiond mines can go right cross the spectrum, so can the people that work in the sweatshops, so compare them to when blacks were slave in america is fucking dumb, "should really get over this aww i was oppressed, everyones hates me my kids being black" shut the fuck up, you dont know what the fuck you talking about
christopherrrrrrrrr 3 years ago
actualli i do it's post everywhere i walk along the street and look at one of you wrong i'm racist. fact is fact your free now yes you earned it, so be proud and stop fucking whineing
mannyclouds 3 years ago
The fact is, you're mad because the civil rights movement actually bore fruits for Blaks in the United States... and now they want more.
Maybe Filipinos at large should ask for restitution from Europeans and White America for the Colonization of our country and the rape of our indigenous culture.
Do you really think that Filipinos want light complexions and pointy noses because it's exotic? Westerners dont press down their children's noses because they want them to flatten out.
RowdyRo 3 years ago
"Do you really think that Filipinos want light complexions and pointy noses because it's exotic?" this just shows you have never been to the homeland if you had you would know the nigritos(dark skined pinoy) is considered a lower class in the philippines because of their darker skin, and don't try to tell me that there are none because that is MY blood line
mannyclouds 3 years ago
First off, let me say, I never denied that pinoys do in fact want those features. My point was to say, it's not because of "exoticism," it's because they've been conditioned to feel inferior to Europeans and deny their aboriginal features.
Don't pawn indoctrination and self loathing off to the want of "exotic" things... this is about our people being brainwashed and raped and our country being occupied then puppet stated. ass hole.
btw, I was born in the Philippines.
RowdyRo 3 years ago
LoL, you really are ignorant aren't you.
i'm filipino, but never would I compare the Transatlantic slave trade to the colonization of the Philippines. The transportation of slaves from Africa- to Europe- and then to the Americas- was one of the most expansive networks for human trafficking ever created. I empathize with the history of my fellow Filipinos, but maybe they should still be "whining" about the current state of their economy and the white-washing of their culture by the West.
RowdyRo 3 years ago
seems your the ignorant one
"never would I compare the Transatlantic slave trade(TST) to the colonization of the Philippines." They subjugated and enslaved our ENTRIRE country, they only sent what tribes they could find when it comes to the TST. and what's to say none of our people where on the one of those transatlantice slave boats? and don't pull the i'm phillipino shit, because if you knew what it was really like to live there you wouldn't think the african amreicans are suffering
mannyclouds 3 years ago
You can't compare the two... they were completely different. and you just proved my point, so... TAG, you're the ignorant one!
so instead of arguing with me about who's suffered more, african americans or filipinos, why dont we just agree that they've all suffered tremendously... and at this point, those four groups are at totally different stages of their history.
I'm just mad that there isn't a person of Asian American descent making a huge impact on American Politics like Obama is.
RowdyRo 3 years ago
"You can't compare the two... they were completely different"
finally a shred of sense from your Americanized brain, but that's a turn around considering when i brought up our subjugation you turned around and said that the African Americans had it worse so no your still the ignorant one
and i couldn't careless about american politics and I'm sure alot of asian americans couldn't careless either why don't you jump off the band wagon and get your own ideals
mannyclouds 3 years ago
lol@Americanized brain. when did I say that African Americans had it worse? It was you, in fact, who maintain that Filipinos have had it worse and STILL have it worse than African Americans.
and I'm sure you couldn't care less about American politics because you are an ignorant person. American politics effects ALL politics, and the reason Asian Americans dont get as much recognition in the U.S. is because they fail to involve themselves in the conventions that run their day to day lives.
RowdyRo 3 years ago
" never would I compare the Transatlantic slave trade to the colonization of the Philippines. The transportation of slaves from Africa-to Europe- and then to the Americas- was one of the most expansive networks for human trafficking ever created." that sounds to me like you were saying they were worse off,
"American politics effects ALL politics" no it doesn',t americans like to think it does but it doesn't do you really think that obama being elected will change the food shortage over seas?
mannyclouds 3 years ago
most asians in the western have the right idea the come here so they can earn money to send back to their family so they can lessen their suffering
mannyclouds 3 years ago
You know what would lessen their suffering? Bringing to light the atrocities that occur due to poverty in their respective motherlands... the fact that they have to come to the United States to work in order to support their family, to me, is a huge sign of societal breakdown. To quote a friend of mine, "why should a woman have to leave her family to become a maid?" If you call that the right idea, then you're just part of the problem.
RowdyRo 3 years ago
"why should a woman have to leave her family to become a maid?" how can you NOT compare the two? it's just another form of human trafficking with a prettier name.
you beleive it's a social break down? no it isn't a social break down it's the fact western companies coming in and taking all our resources e.g. fishing out our waters and leaving nothing for the people living there with the promise of a richer future do you really think woman would leave here family if they were already well fed
mannyclouds 3 years ago
LoL, how is what you just described NOT a social breakdown?
You are about as dense as they come. The problem with you... AND your girlfriend... is you both place yourselves on a moral pedestal and shun the rest who fall short of that standard.
I do not think a woman would feel the need to leave her family if there was economic stability in her locality... however, what you described above is a form of world wide societal decline, aka, social breakdown.
RowdyRo 3 years ago
so the subjugation of a country is now the same thing as a network for human trafficking? it's not... and that's why I would NEVER compare the two. You are an idiot.
My statement could be equated to saying "I would never compare the subjugation of the Philippines under Western rule to the bombing of Hiroshima." Both represent incredible wrongs, but are incomparable for obvious reasons.

These blacks in the vid are like, "Hmm...these Filipinos want to act like us...sad..."
dapunkof1975 4 years ago
u got that totally wrong... u dont know shit about filipinos.. u have a false generalization
StSTstTbS13 4 years ago
I dont know shit? I'm Filipino. I grew up with fellow Filipino Americans who are convinced are black. And its universal. I've been to California, Florida, New York and the Philippines and all the Filipinos there I met think they evented hip hop.
dapunkof1975 4 years ago
I'm one of the guys in the hip hop group that was rapping in this episode. As a Filipino mc, we constantly hear or read other Filipinos accusing us of "trying to be black" just because we participate in hip hop. I never understood that label and will never understand it. I won't pretend that there ain't Filipinos out there with an identity crisis, but the same can be said for every ethnic group.
oh, and none of us think we "evented" hip hop..whatever the hell evented is.
illpoetik 4 years ago
I meant to type invented. There's nothing wrong with liking any particular music but I just think it looks funny when people wam it up in the ass. The way they talk, walk, act, and of course dress. This goes for Filipinos who think theyre suburban white people.
dapunkof1975 4 years ago
so tell me how one "acts Filipino" then. should we all wear barongs wherever we go? should we speak in filipino dialects or filipino accents whenever we talk to people...how should we act?
If someone is immersed in the music/culture of hip hop, then it shouldn't come as a surprise that they walk, talk, dress, hip hop. As long as they still recognize their heritage,i see nothing wrong with that. Most of the guys in our group are as you described. Yet we have songs about the Philippines.
illpoetik 4 years ago
Did I touch a nerve? First of all, I'm not advocating anything. This can be said about other fellow Americans like Arabs, Vietnamese, Hispanic, White etc. Its amazing when you see how these people act and they over do it. Fine, you like this music but I don't think it has to completely change one's attitude and we have to watch them act like someone they're not.
dapunkof1975 4 years ago
lol touch a nerve? I'm asking you a perfectly valid question. How can one act/talk/walk/dress Filipino? If you're saying that anyone who is influenced by hip hop culture is "convinced that they are black", then enlighten us with a guideline of "how to be a true Filipino." So again, I ask you. How should we talk to be true Filipino. How should we dress? How should we act? You have it all figured out, right? So please, do tell.
illpoetik 4 years ago
I wasn't proposing how Filipinos should act. All I said was some Filipinos act black like they created the culture and this can be said about any ethnicity. Obviously your offended making this a big deal when I said nothing about being a "true" Filipino. Don't put words in my mouth. People should act like themselves with honesty.
dapunkof1975 4 years ago
well it is a big deal if you make reckless blanket statements like that...if you think being influenced by hip hop is acting black, then you must have an idea of how one should act. Since you outed Filipinos, I wanted you to tell me how a Filipino should act Filipino. Since being hip hop = acting black, tell us how one can "act Filipino". There's no denying that there are many people who pretend to be something/someone they ain't..but don't make half-ass generalizations.
illpoetik 4 years ago 2
Filipinos and anyone should act like themselves. Even if one enjoys hip hop music. There is no excuse why someone has to pretend that got shit coming out their ass when walking or sagging pants, or can't speak articulate english. Just cos one grew up in a black area doesn't mean one has to act like them copying the speech and the gestures. You end up looking stupid and being someone you're not.
dapunkof1975 4 years ago
so being inarticulate is "acting black"? do u realize how ignorant you sound? do you know how many black people don't listen to hip hop?
Besides, if somebody was raised around a certain environment, it's natural for that person to adapt the locality's way of dress/speech..etc.
According to YOUR logic, does that mean that a black person who is articulate, dress preppy & doesn't listen to hip hop is not "acting black"?
that's just beyond narrow-minded.
illpoetik 4 years ago
Well I did want to mention what you said about blacks who don't act like that. There is no scientific basis for someone that was born and raised in a place they become like that. There are Indians and Chinese raised in those places and they don't end up like that. Now you'r making a generalization. I was born in black/hispanic area, I didn't end up like that.
dapunkof1975 4 years ago
you're still avoiding what my main question is. Inarticulate & dressed in baggy attire? lol your ignorance reeks.
illpoetik 4 years ago
