Thank you for the post!! Definitely would be an interesting truck to see more of on the streets and I just hope Kann makes their presence REALLY known at Waste Expo and everywhere they can (should I say "everywhere they kann"?), because this looks great. I sure hope this model and others by the company will take off in the future. Smooth ASL operation is always good.
Great video. My only concern is how much the carts tip backwards when being lifted, slightly more rounded grippers may help to prevent that from happening since the carts appear to slip in the grippers a little. Other than that, it looks like a truck that could really catch on
@3amrepmike3 Thanks for the comments. We saw the same thing that you mention relative to the gripper and I think there is going to be some work with the gripper design, a tensioner and maybe even an increase in the hydraulic pressure to the mechanism itself. I'll take some more video of this unit as it develops. Thanks again...
What kind of controls do you have for the arm? (joystick, levers, or switches?) Looks like the driver is doing fairly well - considering he has never used an automated truck before.
@FormerWMDriver The controls are fairly standard using a 4-way joystick with a rocker switch. I also agree with you as I thought the driver did a pretty good job considering he never drove an automated before. I think the arm will function very efficiently given these controls and the design intent. as the arm should be able to extend, grab and unload in one fluid motion. Hopefully this will be proven out in future videos. Thanks for your comments...
