I just bought a kp3 and when I want to raise volume to the samples I assign to the A, B, C, D banks, the machine allows me to raise it just one by one. For example: I have a drum sample on the bank C (like you have) and I'd like to raise the volume of another sound I assigned to the bank B, BUT I WANT THE C TO KEEP PLAYING. when my machine passes to the B bank when I press the button, it stops the sample assigned to the C. Why is that and why the same didn't happen to you? (from 0:01 to 0:32)
i'll try and update mine- i had the first blow up on me and since getting a replacement havnt tried doing the update- im a little confussed by the editor to be honest- and the upadtes. does the update change the alocation of the effects on the pads? also, how do i make sure the effects stay allocated to the pads as is. on my first one i managed to change them (like saving favourits n i dont want that, i seem to loose where they are.
i wouldnt say you could make beats with it- get a drum machine for that- zoom street box for example. you can tap out beats on the KP but cannot record them and the acuracy of hitting the pad in the right place for the same sound isnt easy.
ah, sorry. right, i didnt know u cud do that. that said though thats very limited as far as making new music. Those drum smaples are really there for throwing into songs 'live' as a dj. as a recording person i wudnt create songs with them. u'd run out after 5 songs and that wud be that. get a drum machine is what i say as i originally said
yes yes i agree, a drum machine is necessary. i'm stuck with using software(ReBirth 2.0) until i get like an EMX or something.. it still gets the job done, because running it thru some compression gives me the punch i need.... :)
the fun thing about music is being creative with what you've got. I'm constantly blown away with peoples imagination, whether it be one guy creating a whole song with a loop pedal and his mouth or a one stringed guitar melody- i dunno why but i still get a buz from that kinda thing- and im glad i do. do you write?
What help is your comment suppossed to be. I have a drum machine thanks. two infact. Beat boxing is fun but very limited for me. Im wondering what i can do with my kaoss pad other than sample and change sounds inputted to it. thats all.
Hm, even with very simple beatboxing skills, you can make some amazing stuff. Say, grain shift yourself saying something. Add a one beat kick (b) and an off-beat high hat, and a snare is sounding noise every second beat, and you have something pretty wicked. Using delay can make it sound like your doing way crazier beats than you could ever imagine.
If you don't like singing at all, just remember that delay, reverb and pitch bender are your friend.Other than sampling? Well refining stuff I guess
Well i suppose you're right. Can't limited the bounderies of creativity in music (or anything for that matter). Just depends on what you're able or good at doing- i like the idea of beat boxing but never really dabble in it. i tend to just sample with the kaoss pad and tweak sounds im playing with using the effects.
what the fuuuuu??? No you cant do that!!!! NOOOO

Can you play samples if your kaoss pad is hooked up to the send/return of your mixer?
Regards!

How do you upgrade the software? Is it complicated?

so can you make drum beats with it?.
kingjtothea 3 years ago
simple beats it works best as a effects processor cause its real time controland you have that extra control over your sound

you CAN record them..... hit shift+sample.. presto!

you can record samples yes but you can't 'program' a beat on it. for all i know anyway. am i wrong?
easydp 2 years ago
i wasn't referring to that part of your message.
i was talking about, you can record the drum patters that it produces itself...

I run a Roland 404 with my KP3 and it fills in for the lack of drum effects on the KP

@kingjtothea no its bassicly for effects!
You can play on the piano and then combine it with an effect from the kp3

Your answer is both so quick witted and so relevant that I'm just gonna ask you to click on my username and watch my remix of hysteria.
Also relevant.

Surely a bit of style introduced into something does cause you confusion...? or maybe it does.
