@12valvepower1 What configuration? I have a 2011 f150 3.7 4x4 supercab with 3.73 gearing. I have a roush air intake as the only mod. I'm getting the same mileage as you. I really wanted a superduty but figured the gas would be too expensive
@nthom1956 Correct on the 4/5 pattern. That was for comfort for the person who had to ride in the middle during moivement.
Thanks for the info, most of the trucks I drove were 1970's AmGen with the Continental multifuel, we did have a few old early 1950's M35's, Studebakers with REO gas engines with our radars mounted on them. They had the more conventional 4-5 pattern. Amazed the government changed the spec on the shift pattern over the years just for creature comfort. LOL
the engine is considered multifuel but their is no compensator you have to pull the front cover on the engine and their are different timing marks on the injection pump gear one for JP8 (diesel) one for mogas (pump gas) one for kerosen and on some later models one for JP12 (avation fuel) IIRC great vehicles drove one in the army years ago cant wait to buy one for myself.

It probably took you all of 2 mins to discover the capabilities of 13000 pound truck that makes 134hp and just 330 foot-pounds torque and has a top speed of less than 60.
@monster92us IT'S MADE BY KAISER JEEP YOU FUCKING SHISNO! HOP IN THE CAB OF ONE AND READ THE FINE GOD DAMN MOTHER FUCKING PRINT! RIGHT ON THE FUCKING PASSENGER DASH!
@XXdetonator890 Also, manual 5 speed stick shift with a slightly odd shift pattern (4 and 5th reversed from what you would expect), and first is normally used for off-road or heavy loads, an empty light loaded truck can start off in second gear.
@XXdetonator890 AWD or part time 6WD? LMAO! No you engage front axle with air pressure by a switch under the dash. Transfer case with high and low range is old fashioned floorboard lever.
who is the guy at 2:50 You can hardly hear him but hes like OH WHen he comes down he is going to hit the bumper and get stuck. and then you hear hims say or he will roll over.
@thelasthallow I drove those in the Army for a number of years, so I know a lot about them, my mos was 64C-driver and I worked in the motor pool, I drove a lot of different kind of stuff, all the way up to tracked vehicles, this M35 A2 is one tough cookie, damn near impossible to get stuck. I also had to teach new comers to drive out in the field, hey kendelrio nice video, and lasthollow nice comment. A veteran-Paul.
Gotta love the Deuce! Drove several on a regular basis for 3 years while in the Air Force during the 1970's. They were 74 model AM General M35A2 with the Continental LDT465 whistlers. Everyday drivers to our radar sites. Loaded and towing on convoys. Even carrying our 13,000 lb radar units (yes that is above max loading, truck didn't know the difference). Yeah! Looks like she's (the M35A2, not the driver) having a good time! Did some of this whilst stationed at Fort Hood in the late 1970s in a model very similar to this one.
@capulina171081 Ahhhh. I translated..... Yeah... boring, but as I explained IN ENGLISH.... No estaba seguro de capablilities º de la camioneta y no quiere correr el riesgo de encallamiento mis amigos.
You should get a front end winch with snatch blocks. If you can find the rare pipeline Duce and a half, it had a big rear winch also that you can adapt to the M35A2. These trucks can take a licking and keep on ticking, but they will roll over if you get sideways on a steep grade. @CircleJerkersofNG There are suppliers all over the country. Also I have a network of friends on Steel Soldiers that I can rely on to help me find parts.
I had to turn one into a brush truck ounce it turned out awesome. You cant stop them I had to take the one I was working on in to a junkyard and get a hard top for it. Well the road up the hill was cluttered with old wrecks and the bumper would catch them and they would go flying up in the air not even a dent to the bumper. Not very nimble but very very capable. They also suck on long trips the seat sucks hurts your butt something awful.

I have been wanting one of theses for a while now. Only thing is I kept hearing that if you get from a government auction site its hard to get a title to it cause they dont provide the proper forms. But if that wasnt a issue I would gladly get one if I could get a running one for $500 or so that needed to be worked on.
You can find them for $500.00 but it you would need to put several K into them. Best bet is to find one from a private dealer (they have them) and go ahead and spend the money to get one thats ready.
I looked locally on craigslist (found two but they are flat beds I prefer the troop carrier style) and both looked very good and complete but they were $5,000 and $8,000. Likewise if they need alittle work I am not concerned since I have been restoring cars. Just needs to be complete enough to be drove since I am sure it would be pricy to have one towed.
our f250 is about 22 mpg empty. 7.3l turbo diesel.
