theres nothing wrong with those plastic guide rods i shit you not, i have 4 glocks and have 1000's of rounds out of each of them and there all stock with plastic guide rods and i have never had an issue with any of them. but the one time i got a after market barrel and steel guide rod for my glock 23 gen 3, it then fired like shit and would jam every other round i put the stock stuff back in and it ran like a champ again i sold the after market barrel and steel guide rod and lost a few dollers

Quick fix for carrying while wearing shorts: wear a larger shirt.

Quick fix for burglar finding your gun before you get home: carry the gun with you.

My point: carry as much as you can...when you can't carry into certain places or events, I say drill a safe for your vehicle and keep it there (in addition to the safe at home).
