I don't. Once I made the same lamp :). But some times when I'm seraching warehouse for some models I find bad scale models. Then I have to resize these instead only drag n drop to my home model for example :). It's a good practise, when You make some model, use numeric keys to input a valid sizes.

have you ever heard of the components option in sketchup? why wasting time on creating two totally the same parts separately?

Have you ever heard about the scale? When I do import a model from warehouse I wan't this lamp has 30cm, not 10 meters of height.
