@brooklynsweb Samba is verry different from zouk. I've stuied them both. Zouk has lots of similarities from samba, swing and even bolero. But samba's beat is very different. Zouk has a specific bet the hardly does change. Samba for exemple has a posture similar to tango. Were zouk you are free to do whatever you want, and that's the beuty of this dance!

what does it matter Zouk love, zouk revolution, lambazouk, acrobatic zouk, there are a billion ways to dance and there all good. Its about expressing youre emotion in music. What a dull place it would be if everybody would dance the same dance in the same style. Dance is about putting youre soul in the music the way you feel like. dont' dance like you must dance because you want to.

that's simply ridiculous and you can't say it's the brazilian style because zouk love is still unknown in brazil, except in the state of amapa, on the border of french guyana. in macapa zouk love is well practicted and well danced and people do not dance like those "lambada" dancers from this video clip.

This is a mixe between the zouk and the lambada ( a typica brazilian dance, from the north of the country) please do not try to compare it with the real caribbean zouk dance, because it was never aimed to be the samething.

This is a style of dancing comming from the Brazilian lambada, which found the zouk music from the west-indies (as well as african kizomba) as a perfect music to dance to. That is why this style is different of the zouk style dancing on the antilles..

This form of Zouk is a bit too quick and the guy is doing far too much movement. My girlfriend is from Guadeloupe and she has taught me the correct way to dance to Zouk, but this is interesting to see none the less.

Zouk is french from the West indies (Gwada & Madinina)! It's a style created by the band Kassav in the late 70's

It is a matter of personal taste. Some like Italian food, others like French food more. I know of the Kizomba zouk style and it is boring to my taste. But if you like it: have fun and enjoy freedom on the dance floor!

This zouk is not my kinda style, the movements are to long and ballet like compared to the rythem, if i watch this i get the feeling that they don't move with the music but they created a dancestyle based on Zouk.

See this style of music is called the zouk. the persons who invented it come from the French WEST INDIES( MARTINIQUE and GUADELOUPE). It is a melange of African and caribean musique. The Legendary groups Kassav might tell u somthing?

Later, there was cap verdian, Congolese, and Angolan zouk, now a lot of people dances sing the zouk in their way, and they forgot the origins of this kind of music. The best remain is the Martinican and the guadeloupean zouk, never forget that!!!

Please read de title of the video: zouk BRAZILIAN STYLE. Have you ever been to Rio de Janeiro or Brazilia? This is one way they dance to zouk music over there, I now it because I was there, and I know many zouk dance teachers over there who teach this style. Have you ever seen Cuban timba dancing and compared it with Mamno on 2? But that is not the point. My point is that, in a free country, I could dance Polka to zouk music, if I wanted, and have fun.
